Why didn't these blokes get more attention? So much fun to listen to!! Whatever happened to the wacky vid for "I Want Candy" - in B&W, a 30s-style combo and a hefty dancing lady? Cool combination - made the original "I Want Candy" even more intriguing than it already is.

This is a great song! I love this original version rough ultimate 60's sound. Now fast forward to George Thorogoods version. I think it blows this one out of the water. Just my opinion. Listen to Georges 30yr Anniversary live version, the guitar solos in the middle just shred. It is amazing cover of an great old song.

You should hear "I Want Candy" by the Strangeloves -- sounds identical to "Bo Diddley" & "Willie & the Hand Jive".

The "hand jive" form is a very old musical form that goes way back before both of those songs.

I'm sorry I just don't hear any similarities between those two songs at all. But both songs were ripping off black R&B if that answers your question.
