mercury is the closest planet to the sun and yet venus is the hottest im confused........

@ghostslayer54 you might already know this by now but venus is hotter than mercury because Venuses atmosphere traps heat generated by volcanoes on the planet and so it just got hotter and hotter and barely any heat escapes from it.

Mercury on the other hand does get extremely hot but since it has such a small atmosphere all the heat on the planet escapes out to space.

@ghostslayer54 You ought to be REALLY confused when you look at the animation at 4:11 and see that it depicts the spacecraft going to the closest planet:  MERCURY!!

All planet Venus need is 30% shade from sun to start the chain of events to cool down the planet just enough thats all. H2SO4 in Venus atmosphere will rain down on the ground and will begin to neutralize by reacting with soil. When the Venus ocean which is up in the air rains down on the Venus surface, it will bring down the atmospheric pressure to normal as on earth.

Later, planet Venus will make an excellent science project for college and university students. They can terraform it.

I suppose Venus will have to wait until we can engineer something to seed it with that will fix the atmosphere.
