This shit sucks get a pci-e card you guys don't buy this over bloated 100 bucks more than it cost shit aight. Look up HD PVR PCI-E card or Avermedia HD it records in real HD non-component, meaning HDMI 720p/1080i for a good price and it doesn't need a usb and all that shit. Forget a clutter fuck full of cables get the pc cards these boxes are nice but they make your set up look stupid. Capture Cards>Capture Boxes.

Im not getting a signal from Xbox 360 to HDPVR. TV pitcher flickers. My HDVR is working because I tried with other devie and see a pitche ron my computer and tv.I tried setting the xbox to 1080i and 720. Still not working. I had it hooked up to a component switch box all inputs work on component box. I tried diffrent Xbox cables get saem issue. Not sure what's left to do.

I have everything setup correctly, i can hear my xbox through my x11 headset..but my TV says no signal. PVR is turned on and all wires are in where they should be. Any ideas?

@DarudeF1 Are your settings correct on your Xbox Display? Make sure it's on the right HD output. 720, 1080, etc.

@DylnCox my old TV was 720p/1080i and the HD PVR worked perfectly on that. My new TV which I got on saturday just gone (15th Oct) is 1080p and ive changed the xbox display settings from 720p to 1080p back to 720p etc and I still get no signal message. I then hooked it up to my old TV again and it didnt work.

Oddly enough, on the component cable going from the 360 to the PVR I switched it to normal TV (not HDTV) setting and it worked (on new TV). When I switched it back, it lost signal again.

@RkrDude Yes. The component portion of the unit is so you can record in HD resolution. Their is composite input as well as s-video input on the front of the unit for older TV's.

it does come with recording software and "edit" software, but the edit software is really... bad for editting, download a free version of sony vegas or adobe after effects to cut your clips, render in 720p, make them fullscreen (unlike this guy's black bars on the side)

rendering is: basicly saving all the editting you did and saving the clip in better quality.

@IDzNz Actually the correct name for it is the Hauppauge HD PVR, people just call it the HD PVR because it is quicker to say. Thats it. What it is supposed to be called however, is infact, the Hauppauge HD PVR.
