Its funny because all the people who hate on bands or genres are the ones who truly dont appreciate music. i see it all the time. people hate on a band because of their popularity and fame and disregard them as sellouts or fake. i dont care if its from sigur ros, slipknot, 2Pac, Justin Bieber, or fucking Michael Bolton. if its good and i like it personally ill listen to it. theres no need to be hostile with eachother because you dont like gangster rap or dont like shoegaze. stfu and appreciate
It's amazing that basically random syllables with absolutely no meaning at all, Icelandic or English, can create very large emotional reactions within almost anyone who listens to it (of course the other instruments also play a large role in that).
@switchinlaaaaaaaanes This is heavier than anything a bunch of pansies wearing spandex & make-up while flinging their hair around could possibly do! Metal is what real ass pirates like to listen to while chowing down on cock meat sandwiches beeeeeeeeeeee-otch.
@Boxisfun See them in concert, the guy was like a fricken machine. It was simply amazing! I'm sure this is the music babies hear when they come out of the womb and what we will all hear when we close our eyes for good.
Those lights passing by remind me of a time where no matter where I was, I felt at home.
I just love watching youtube videos of planes landing at night or people driving at night, especially when there are all those little lights that move towards you and then disappear. It's just something that makes me feel relaxed and focused.
This really melts my heart every time I listen to it.
I was listening to it once when I was on an aeroplane flying above the clouds looking down on them and it was just so beautiful. ( ) is my favorite Sigur Ros and favourite ALBUM of all time. Thank you for the video. xx
I am so glad reading everyones comments...so intellectual. So full of emotion. I am glad you guys are able to associate a feeling, or thought, with this music. Very creative and introspective.
This remains as one of the most beautiful albums of all time. The best thing about it, is that everyone can interpret for themselves what the lyrics/music mean. Becuase they aren't sung in an existant language.
That's at least what I understood, however, I love this album. I really do.
Again in a random place...all is white, pure WHITE and very cold, is the ice zone that i see from afar i guess... where i should go? the cold is each time more and more intense and the winds are more and more stonger, death is coming? i cant stand anymore this cruel storm!!! luckily the storm dies at the last moment..
This is a heartbreaking song..! Really sad and somehow desolated...But in the same way incredibly beautiful..Something only sigur Ros is able to create..!
btw..Don't mean this as a spam, just as a support for the musical art..Some days ago I found a band on youtube called "Nyctalgia".
Listen to their song "Falling into nothingness".
Amazing atmospheric and melancholic song..trust me..
Here's an idea: buy the album. I'm sure they worked pretty hard on it, so actually buying the album would be the most ethical thing to do. You can get it super-cheap on Amazon.
You can actually use Vuze to download their entire albums. Yes, as Chris says.. Go buy the album.. But who buys CD's anymore when it's so easy just to actually burn them. Ooooh, I'm gonna get a thumbs down for this one. Anyways, Use Vuze or go buy it. =]
Oops, I was quoting someone else who said "enredible" on a previous page, by the way. i am not an idiot. By the way, KaldakaDoLarn, go by the f*ing album! Please.
Im sorry to sound crazy but where are all these Untitled names coming from when they don't even have songs called Untitled 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 etc.....So can someone please tell me which albums they are meant to be on cos i sure can't find them?
If you look on their site, in albums, and click () which is the album, they track listing is all untitled but they have names too, which are listed on their site
This video is amazing! You captured Sigur Ros perfectly. The fact that the camera is upside down illustrates the slow moving nature of their music and this song!

the closest this album has to a title is: ( )
but none of the songs have names...
supposedly the first four tracks are supposed to be "light" and with a interval of silence between, the latter 4 tracks are "dark".
Hope this helps.
