  • Is that an Opus-Two system? It looks like it.

  • Yep, controller III with the VFD display board. I wish Dave wasn't so busy these days, it's hard to get any support for the system any more.

  • Thought so - bit difficult to tell from the video. My company are the UK agents for Opus-Two. We are working with Dave to get better support/software. It's a great system.

  • We used Opus-Two to recouple console to pipes on the Compton theatre organ restoration at Hammersmith, London

Search Youtube for theatre organ (watch spelling) and look for "Reborn Compton Theatre Organ" to see four videos of this fantastic organ.

  • Cool, I'll check it out. And I just realized that I had posted the first comment with someone else's account, because they were using my computer at work and forgot to log out.

Let me know if there is any progress with the Opus-Two system. I'm hoping to expand mine to drive the pneumatic combination action someday. Right now I can't even use record/playback. The MIDI works well though.

  • That IS a big project! Seeing those contacts takes me back to restoring my old WurliTzer. 14 per note, and every single one needed cleaned. Does this organ have second-touch?

The combination action is a nightmare to even think about, I agree.

  • It does have second touch, on the accomp manual. I don't have the springs installed for it yet though.

What shocke me was the number of connections I've had to do (and redo). 448 switch inputs, plus all the odds and ends. Overall 448 connections to the inputs, 448 solder joints on the switch ends of the harness, not including the power and misc connections! And I still have to finish and regulate the manuals, and rebuild the combo action...
