What dog is this? He and his handler do an incredible job! Hope they consider joining the Bulldog Performance Group on Yahoo! if they're not already a member. Great job team!
I love this !! We have two bullies who favourite sport is watching Rugby on TV whilst eating a chicken cooked diner having a cuddle !!! Our bullies have the same issues as most bullies but they ARE healthy and active. They are very loving and affectionate, and great company if you're on your own. I hate it when people judge without any frame of reference !!! The comment above from @fossafun is bizzare at best and clearly comes from someone who has no actual understanding of the breed.
Well done for having a slim Bulldog that enjoys exercise! Although not a particular fan of the breed - I am a Staffy girl - it is wonderful to see a Bulldog having so much fun, I find they tend to be so over weight that exercise *is* a struggle with their squashed noses due to the extra pound they are forced to carry around. But he is trim and obviously having no difficulty what so ever, he wasn't even puffed at the end!
Awesome video, I love it! It's so cool to see a bulldog do that. The comments from fossafun and others are ignorant. If you like bulldogs or don't, when someone calls an entire breed of dogs that are loved and adored by millions an "abomination" that should someday be "irradicated", you pretty much have to just ignore them. Congrats on having such a healthy happy dog!
@subins23 10-really. ah-that is not a long life for a healthy dog. Your faceless dogs were robbed of years due to careless breeding. My dogs (with faces) lived to be 18 and 161/2. I admire the fact you have loved several dogs but this breed needs to disappear. I stand by my stance that people who propogate this cruelty ARE insensitive to what is best for a canine lifestyle. I'm glad a dialogue is taking place. It's overdue. Even with name calling it's better than silence.
@fossafun you are the one that started the name calling, remeber. It is amazing that you can somehow tell how unhappy a dog is. The bulldogs I have seen in person seem to be just as happy and content as any other dog. I am very thankful breeders have continued to keep this wonderful breed strong and healthy.
Great Danes don't live to be 18. So should that breed be eradicated as well?
@bigd1971 I'm not amazing. I do know of what I write. Bulldogs are not healthy. They are pleasant to be around and I wish all individual Bulldogs love and happiness. . non Brachyophalic dogs ARE far healthier. People are happier when they are healthier. I wish to emphasize Bulldogs ARE disabled because of human choosing and Bulldogs DO suffer so because of it. I believe these animals are not oblivious to their discomfort just because it would be convienant for some people think they are.

Faceless dogs? You have got to be kidding me. All of my Bulldogs have had faces. Beautiful faces. My current bully is 11 years old and still runs and plays every day. He has never been sick a day in his life. He is a happy, affectionate boy who is spoiled rotten and loved by everyone who meets him.

This is so sad. Bulldogs are SEVERLY disabled canine who suffer with every breath. Anyone who thinks a Bulldog is healthy is in deep denial. I think breeding Bulldogs is about as ethical as say.... intensionally trying to have a kid with Down Syndrome or a curved spine. This lady is an unobservant, insensitive fool. Bulldogs are not cute. They are an abomination to be pittied and hopefully, someday-irradicated. People who intentionally breed them are CRUEL. Wake-up.
@fossafun How can you compare breeding canines to having a human child? Your thoughts, while welcomed on this public forum, are not very thoughtful. You know nothing about he lady in the video, and yet you call her an insensitive fool. Your argument and comparison are very crude.
@bigd1971 . I am DARING to say that suffering is suffering and a dog has every just claim to NOT be intentionally NEGATIVELY mutated just because some humans find it whimsical. My example may be uncomfortable for some. Rather inconvienant for some. But it stands. Do not assume everyone thinks like you and automatically believes that an animal's ability to suffer is less meaningful than a humans ability to suffer.
@bigd1971 I'm sorry, but I have to to agree with @fossafun. English bulldogs have been demonstrated as a highly unhealthy breed. They cannot give birth to their own pups because their heads are bred to be so large, so they have to have c-sections every time. They have the highest incidence of hip dysplasia of any breed. They are also known to have severe breathing problems thanks to their over-exaggerated brachycephalic faces. Their average lifespan is only 6.5 years.
@strawberrily7 While I think fossafun's analogy was in poor taste, it's not at all inaccurate to say that English Bulldogs would be like breeding a race of humans on purpose to have poor breathing, bad hips and a short lifespan.
This dog, however, is the exception that proves the rule. He is clearly very healthy with good joints and excellent breathing. But it is so impressive BECAUSE we all know that English Bulldogs usually CAN'T do things like this.
@bigd1971 The lady clearly isn´t a fool but I agree that many buldogs are overbread and really doesn´t look good. The same with the pug. Now they are breeding a healtier "Retro" pug with a longer nose and a slimmer body. And you can compare animals and humans.
But anyway, this buldog is healthy. Every dog who can run and jump like this is healthy. The bad people are the breeders...not the one who do something for their dogs. I have to agree that sadly, many buldogs are not healthy...
@fossafun and people like you need to be slapped around your dumb all dogs suffer from one type of problem or another so what if a bulldog is out of shape labs suffer from cancer so go and read up on bull dogs dummy and then you can comment you hypicrit
@fossafun In the UK the kennel club has acknowledged that the breeding of Bulldogs to accentuate their most definable features is a mistake and wrong. They are changing the 'standards' for bulldogs and encouraging breeders to return the breed to their original genetics, breeding out the issues that they have. Bulldogs are NOT to be pittied and they most certainly are NOT an abomination. They deserve as much love and respect as any other breed !! Do some research before making comments !!
@fossafun The fact that this bulldog was running this agility course, sailing over the jumps (at full height I believe, not even the "preferred" height that is allowed for heavier-bodied breeds), weaving effortlessly, climbing, turning, etc. says more than your rude words about his health and structure! This dog is an incredible athlete and should get the credit he deserves! Any breed would be proud of this effort! There are many careless breeders out there of all breeds, but not all!
@Sittingbullies I wouldnt say this dog is an incredible athlete but he does have alot more doggy athletism than most english bulldogs do I'll give him that.
It's just strange because bulldogs are cardiac therefore make of agility is rather dangerous. You' ve not have criticize on their aesthetics ! It's : You like, or not !
But say that to reproduce them it's cruel... IT'S VERY... malicious !!

Look up " Brachycephalic" folks. Then you'll understand why putting a bulldog through agility is so very questionable.
