  • Recent research is really pointing more and more towards HIIT as the most effective form of exercise for BOTH burning fat and gaining muscle...and its even showing that the traditional long cardio workouts are actually harmful over time. Humans weren't built to run on a treadmill/bike for an hour+. I liken it to torture. Sure, you can get in shape to survive the torture better..but it doesn't mean the torture itself is good for you.

  • @OutlawVR I agree that HIT might be the best option for gaining muscle and burning fat, but don't say humans weren't built for endurance / long distance cardio. That's actually one of the only things we've been good at throughout the evolution of our species. We're able to run longer than almost all other animals, but if you were to look at our size to strength ratio (i.e. how much we can lift relative to our body weight) we're a pretty scrawny species.

  • U both need to work too on your technique. Drive your knees upwards and your elbows back on each stride. A focus on extending your lower leg befor driving down. You'll take 2seconds off your time easy.

  • @aleksadrhouse how did you run? I want to start losing weight so my muscles will show through more. how many hours did you run each day? did you do sprint/walk/sprint/walk?

  • @IIkingdomII one thing about losing weight: you have your normal heart rate...maybe 80 per second and when you do cardio exercise you may be above 140.....well,the better way to lose weight is to stay between those numbers.If you walk fast( not run) you will start burning fat at 15-20 minutes so a normal training will be 45-90 min of it,heart rate 110-120 max.if you want to increase your stamina and strengh you can do cardio.

  • @belayasmert1979 See, that falls into line what I've read from the experts. I get confused by videos like this. I used to think that jogging or running was best for weight loss. But really, it's walking. A moderately intense walk that is. Getting your heart rate up to about what you said. And the longer you do it, the more fat burning that will take place. After an hour I think you are now up to burning 50% fat. With jogging, I hear you burn more glycogen than you do fat.

  • @ShelterDogs There's loads of different ways to get to the same destination. Most are of the opinion that HIIT is the most effective form of cardio..and it is if it suits ur lifestyle. Much less time required than long, slow cardio. Rob Riches has used both types to get lean, where as guys like Obi Obadike burn fat with sprints. I've lost 3 inches on my waist with ZERO cardio. Manipulating my diet. Point is, ask 50 fitness/muscle models what they did to burn fat, you'll get 50 different answers

  • @TitsandFish84 exactly. As you see, this is all about cardio - keeping the heart rate up, and it makes a nice change from running on the treadmill.

  • for those who keep talking shit about the difference between the white guy and the black one, the genetics really dont matter. anyone can achieve great speed and a rocking body. im 15 years old and i have been sprinting since the age of 12. At age 14, i took gold medal for doing 200 meter dash in 25 seconds. it might not of been a world record, but i did get first place out of all the kids in the 9th and 10th grade league. so shut up, get your ass up from the coach, and go train for once.

  • @MrOdsplut Yeah, maybe one can be genetically different but not inferior, that can be misunderstood. Different yes, inferior no. Also a lot of people due to one reason or another only work on one type of exercise and thus develop differen bodybuilds. that doesnt mean they inferior to one another. Make Michael Phelps runnin marathons and he also wil become skinny as hell.
