@Thundralight I totally agree. We must be vigiliant, though. We found out that all the American flags were missing in our local high school classrooms, though they are required by state law. We used the opportunity to restore the Pledge of Allegiance, as well. But the influence of the enemy is so strong, we now see whole classrooms of students remaining seated while the Pledge is recited over the intercom and their Substitute Teacher (ahem) stands alone. :(

Being a student interested in Cold War history etc. I watched this interview about a year ago and got into a pretty lengthy shoot from the hip discussion about soviet politics with an enthusiast of Bezmenov. At the time I was stupid not actually look up Bezmonov's book Love Letter to America. It's essentially a 40 page rant with no citations, about how any manifestation of what the John Birch Society calls anti-Americanism is a conspiracy sprung from the evil loins of the Kremlin.

That is not a credible source of information by academic standards. Bezmonov is demonstrating the "god who failed complex." He is opportunistically, or ignorantly fetishizing the United States founding fathers etc. in the same manner he fetishized Lenin and the USSR in Russia.Thus he dupes fanatics in the U.S. as he did in the East. The USSR wanted socialism to mean Soviet Union because the concept of socialism communism etc. has a lot of moral appeal and will cause people to ignore Soviet atrocities.
