If ABBA had recorded 'When I Close My Eyes' in 1983 for their 9th album this song would have returned them to the top of the charts all over the world and it would have been their 11th UK Number 1 ('Just Like That' would have been their 10th had it been released in 1982).

Aaah.. This almost makes me cry.. You can almost hear Agnetha and Frida, although they are not there.. It's so ABBA and yet they never managed to do it together.. why why why? It was too late.. We need this song with Agnetha & Frida. The world wants it - the world demands it. Come on Bjorn and Benny! You've got so much brilliant material waiting to be recorded. ABBA could just make a studio album without even having to show themselves on TV or in video's.

It is on the Original Broadway Cast Recording - the title is "Lullaby (Apukád erös kezén) and Florence father sings it in Hungarian.

@Catchtrap You're right! Amazing how well this melody works in both this pop song and the slower lullaby-style song from CHESS. B&B, of course, had a habit of tinkering around with songs until they found the best place to use them. Glad to discover that "Lullaby" is another song that got this much attention, but I've always wished that the song made it into more versions of CHESS (though it really only fits the plot of the Broadway version).
