  • It's great watching Sonny Boy dig into that groove. His whole demeanor the way he held the harmonica everything- has been copied right to the Nth degree, but there was just one original genius.

  • I saw this on TV in the UK and recorded this very record on my old tape machine from the TV (and still have it all on tape!. I also actually attended a show from this tour in 1965 at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford, Yorkshire. I remember Sonny Boy saying he felt ill that night. He died soon after that tour. They don't make them like this anymore.

  • Awesome! (Not the audience I expected to see though),

  • "He's young in the business, he's only been playing and singing the blues for 25 years"

I wish you still had to work like that to get into music, rather than expect to become a star overnight (with talent shows not helping, of course)

  • BILLY STEPENY ON DRUMS

  • Sorry it is Otis Spann-Memphis Slim was just the MC.

  • That's Memphis Slim on piano, not Otis Spann.

  • It's unbelievable that this video only has ~7200 views. That's "a pity" and "a cryin' shame"

What talented men. Thank God we have their recordings.

  • Matt "Guitar" Murphy on guitar.

  • wow post and thank you for sharing.

    the roots here...HQ

    class

  • I like the way you say 'High Quality'- Quality doesn't get much higher than this!!

  • lol, memphis slim said ONLY 25 years lol.

  • thank you very much for uploading this piece of musical history

i doubt there will never be music with this kind of soul again, but hopefully someone proves me wrong.

  • This was MUSIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He looks like a vagina.

  • Oh yeah he's got it bad.

Them old guys were so cool and yet cool about it. They were real and came from nothing.

  • why were there so many white people and no black people in the audience?

    pretty collllllddd song...

  • It was in England, and the whites were embrassing the blues than blacks at this time. This was after the English invasion of Rolling Stones, Beatles ect.

  • Because even white people like the blues!!

  • Plus Otis played with Muddy Waters for years. Tx for sharing

  • They just don't make bands like this any more....

    Ain't this a pity? It's a cryin' shame...!

Otis Spann, on piano. Willie Dixon on bass. I'm sure about the guitarist and drummer, but in my opinion, It gets no better...!

  • drummer: Jump Jackson, guitarist: Matt "Guitar" Murphy (Aretha's husband in "Blues Brothers.")

  • Hey thanks for the info. Glad you could see I meant I'm NOT sure about the guitarist & drummer! So Matt "Guitar" Murphy is the guitar player, and he played himself in the movie?

  • Thx sjziro and thoxbui for the info. Just added it to the description and gave you guys the credit!

  • Hey thanks a lot. I learned something new here too! Music just doesn't get much better than this, does it? By the way, I notice your spelling on Otis Spam's name has an M instead of an N, in the video heading and over on the side details. It's definitely Otis Spann! With 2 n's! ;o)

  • No it doesn't sjziro, this is what I call real music and m8, thx again, just fixed the description. =)
