I wish we had a man like Ron Paul as our leader, to stop the hundreds of thousands of anti-White hordes flooding into our country every single year, to stop unjust wars in which our brave troops are dying every day (I mean Iraq) and to stop the murder of unborn children that happens every single day.
I like Gravel. He's a very novel and charming guy. The kind of warrior essential to a good democracy; fierce and outspoken, a little drastic w/ age, but cute...and ultimately necessary, when you think about it.
Even if I disagreed vehemently w/ him, I'd grateful for him all the way.
Mike Gravel recently said "change requires us to go beyond conventional wisdom." He's right. What we have doing, for quite some time, clearly isn't working anymore. We have Blue vs. Red, gridlock and inability to change course within the existing system. We have a country held hostage by corporate interests and special interests and their lobbies. Senator Gravel is right...we have to go beyond conventional wisdom, and start re-thinking our options for creating policy and making laws.
Switzerland's federal constitution was based on America's as a model. The National Initiative that was amended into their constitution has functioned well for a 100 yrs, and I'm sure that history has given the drafters of the National Initiative for the U.S plenty of time to draft the protections necessary for implementation.
I must say Sen. Gravel's national initiative idea is interesting, it would have to be carefully implemented in order to avoid abuse but has some potential -- though I'm not sure I support it -- its still interesting.
I am English and I love America.
It is the greatest nation on Earth.

The National Initiative is very interesting, but I don't see it actually working on a practical level.
