In his other book, Detour, is also semi-based on my cousins. They are twins from Columbia, and in that book, a husband and wife are trying to taking home an adopted baby from Columbia.

WTF?! I just watched this movie and the story of this one is very very similar to 2001 movie called Birthday Girl played by Nicole Kidman and Ben Chaplin, which I've seen years ago. Vincent Cassel also played as the antagonist. Is this a remake? or they just copied the whole plot? I'm confused. By the way, I really like Jen Aniston but sad to say she was horrible in this movie. I think she better stick to romantic comedy type of films.

This movie was greatly miscast. Jen is such a horrible actress. She's only good at playing roles like Rachel. And the guy from Brotherhood of the Wolf isn't scary. Clive easily could've kicked his ass. And I wasn't surprised by Jen being bad because when she was on Letterman for this movie she said there was a big twist with her character. And the whole thing with prison at the end was so stupid. I was just waiting for the movie to get over with.

This was terrible. At the beginning of the movie I was truly intrigued, but at about 40 mins through the plot hadn't evolved to encapsulate the fear and grief a person would experience in that situation. I liked the idea of the scam, but I didn't like the lackluster characters and setting.

Its a "okay" film. I admire fluffy Jenny Aniston for tackling a darker role (makes a change to the usual boring Rom-coms she keeps churning out year after year), but I have to admit, this wannabe "Hitchcockian" thriller is somewhat disappointing. The very bad lack of chemistry between the two stars, Owen+Aniston is just criminal, and sorry but this is the thing I find tiresome about many of Her films. You really have to be a Hardcore Aniston fan, to like her films, including this.
