I believe the transformations are superficial and solely for the entertainment of the viewer. In other words, it's just a break through the fourth wall in a sense, it's not actually that elaborate and long in the Sailor Moon universe.

In my opinion, and i believe anyone who'd agree with me, this is the most dynamic transformation Sailor Moon has ever had... not only because of it's improved effects but because she actually moves while she transforms, not like in the rest where she (or ChibiMoon) wait for the camera to spin around them... 3D wise ;P . It's fair to say this is the best conceived transformation in the anime and my favorite, captured my eye from the 1st time i saw it as a kid... WAY back in 1998 as i remember ^_^

my favorite transformation. Cosmic sailor moon and cosmic princess are the final forms of usagi from her crystal. As a soldier she gets other upgrades too but as a princess her final form is the cosmic with the spiral heart rod! love it!

Is this her first transformation in SMS? The colors are a lot fuller and thicker than normal and at the end the heart hits her foot and makes her skirt, that only happens in this clip, the other transformations in SMS the colors are thinner and a heart never hits her skirt, it comes from the one dancing from around her.
