I like. Relaxed, very cool. Simply awesome. Best alternative to the dynamic commercial version performed by Nilsson. Those PR guys just know: the older the better.
what really pissed me off the few times i met him at an open mic, is that we had already signed up (i play guitar and sing too) and all the spots were taken, and then panama red comes waltzing in, and then the host of the open mic just lets him slide in and play ahead of us
he probably was unaware of any of that, chris, him bein all self-involved and everything. you have reason to be resentful, but kinda looks like you're directing your ire toward the wrong guy, maybe you oughta take it up with the open mike guy.
@rochefortaccords - Oh, indeed Freddie would approve. It's Danny's birthday today, so posted a song from when he was in Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys (w/another friend, Lanny Bowles on drums), a few of Dann'y videos. Great way to spend a morning here in Oaxaca, listening to old friends: Vince Martin, Freddie Neil, Danny Finley, Bobby Ingram... And to those who feel upstaged by Danny? He IS famous among musicians, folks who know and love him. Can he be a dick? Yup. Is he one? Nah.
If you mean the bearded one that's Ronnie Caryl who has indeed played on a few sessions over the years, notably with his old school friend Phil Collins - see more of Ronnie on youtube/rochefortaccords

Hi, Who's the cat playing lead guitar? He must be a session player on other people's recordings, yes?

Probably the best version I've heard aside from Fred's own.
