I've been listening to him so long I remember when a caller confronted him about his statements. He admitted his hypocrisy, but said that from the moment he got hooked, he stopped making any comments about drug users at all. Yes it was illegal, but you have to admit, prescription drug abuse because of pain is different than cocaine abuse. As for the doctor shopping charges, they were dropped.
And his comment about Kennedy wasn't negative, just accurate. The democrats have been working on a health care bill for a long time. Ted Kennedy has a brain tumor and will die soon. Most likely before the bill passes. How is that negative? Rush constantly talks about how great this country is and how we can succeed at anything we set our minds too, including getting out of this recession. Rush IS positive. Give me another example of how he isn't. One that is actually an example.
The charges were droppes because Rush agreed to the terms of the court. He also had the funds available to fight the charges. If Rush did not have the money he has, he would have done time. Instead, he fought the very jail time, HE called for. You mean, from the time he got caught., he tried to keep this quiet. So you're saying that there are different levels of WRONG. Wierd, I thought wrong was wrong. You can't recall hypocrisy.
Neither of us can say for sure if he would have done time if he didn't have the money. First time offenders are often treated with a lot of leiniency. I could also argue that the courts were more harsh with him because of who he was, not wanting to be seen as going easy on a celebrity.
And while, by strict definition, wrong is wrong, there is a difference between speeding and murder, so yes, there are different levels of wrong.
I don't think you can point to One time, that a court was more harsh on a celebrity. Paris, lohan, Downey Jr., and Clinton, all benifited from thier celebrity. I think Paris served like, 10 day of a 3 month sentence lohan 3 hours. I doubt you can make the case, that it hurt Rush to have money and fame.
Actually, I can point to a time that being a celebrity hurt someone legally, and it just happened. The Sheriff of Richland County in SC investigated Michael Phelps for pot possession based on a picture of him smoking from a bong. If that wasn't because of his celebrity, then I know of a half dozen people on Facebook who need to be investigated for underage drinking based on a picture of them holding a beer. It happens friend. But that was never the issue anyway.
Truth, is relative. I could make the statement, (there is no god), does that make it true? What is positive to you may seam negative to Ted. You will die soon, life always ends in death. I believe Rush said, that he hopes Barrack fails, that seems negative, doesn't it? Also, remeber that Hitler used to tell the Germans that they could do anything they set their minds too. Following your logic here any statement can be seen by anyone as either positive or negative, in which case, the only way to never say anything that could be perceived by someone as negative, is to not talk at all. The intent of the speaker is what is important. Yes, Rush said he wants Obama to fail. If you listen to him you would have heard the explanation. He believes that Obama's policies will be bad for the country. Wanting Obama to fail might be negative to Obama, but not to the country :)

Most likely before the bill passes. How is that negative? The charges were droppes because Rush agreed to the terms of the court. He also had the funds available to fight the charges. If Rush did not have the money he has, he would have done time. Neither of us can say for sure if he would have done time if he didn't have the money. First time offenders are often treated with a lot of leiniency. I could also argue that the courts were more harsh with him because of who he was, not wanting to be seen as going easy on a celebrity.
And while, by strict definition, wrong is wrong, there is a difference between speeding and murder, so yes, there are different levels of wrong.

I don't think you can point to One time, that a court was more harsh on a celebrity. Paris, lohan, Downey Jr., and Clinton, all benifited from thier celebrity. I think Paris served like, 10 day of a 3 month sentence lohan 3 hours. I doubt you can make the case, that it hurt Rush to have money and fame.

Actually, I can point to a time that being a celebrity hurt someone legally, and it just happened. The Sheriff of Richland County in SC investigated Michael Phelps for pot possession based on a picture of him smoking from a bong. If that wasn't because of his celebrity, then I know of a half dozen people on Facebook who need to be investigated for underage drinking based on a picture of them holding a beer. It happens friend. But that was never the issue anyway.

Following your logic here any statement can be seen by anyone as either positive or negative, in which case, the only way to never say anything that could be perceived by someone as negative, is to not talk at all. The intent of the speaker is what is important. Yes, Rush said he wants Obama to fail. If you listen to him you would have heard the explanation. He believes that Obama's policies will be bad for the country. Wanting Obama to fail might be negative to Obama, but not to the country :)

I believe Rush thinks, Obama's policies would be bad for Rush's party, meaning that if it's good for america, it's bad for the GOP. It wasn't too long ago, that Rush, and others of his stripes, said that if you are against the president, you are against america. Ask the Dixie Chicks about that. And I don't agree with everything Rush says, in fact, I think he's always been wrong on punishment for drug use. The only reason I wrote anything was that I thought it was unfair to label him as a drug addict. It would be just as unfair if I called Ted Kennedy an adulterer or a murderer every time I mentioned him.

It's been canceled indefinitely. Fox didn't think it would work on network so its news division picked it up. The Rush/Coulter bits are pretty funny but the show itself was very clumsy. It lacked a clear direction. The two anchors changed personas frequently and their material was lacking.
