  • Frank's still a great picker, too.

  • Man... Thanks so much for putting this up.

I've known Frank Greathouse for maybe 5 years as the proprietor of 'Real Guitars' in Fort Myers and have always thought he was a very cool guy, and this just cranks it up another notch. A glimpse into the past, the building blocks. Getting to see this cool ol' white-haired guitar salesman (I didn't say OLD, Frank, I said "ol") as a youngster in lamb chops and long bushy hair is really a joy. And just TEARIN' IT UP with all these fine pickers! So fun...

  • That was definitely Tom Hosmer on guitar

  • Heard a cut from a New Deal album on XM, City of New Orleans. Fantastic Pickin!

  • Great.

  • mandolin....Frank Greathouse

    bass....Bob White (Quail)

    banjo...Gene Knight

guitar...I'm not sure...Tom Hosmer, maybe..should have been me. I don't know where I was at the time.

    fiddle left...Al McCanless

    fiddle right...Kenny Kosek

Leroy Savage sticks his head in at one point, but he is not playing...ditto John Kornhauser

  • Oldbike, are you the guy wearing the horn-rimmed glasses who sings "She bent down and turned around..." on y'all's version of "Love Potion No. 9" that is on the Bluegrass Country Soul DVD? Oh to have stumbled across the parking lot jam shown in that video. I was too young...and too far away. Though I spent many summers selling t-shirts at festivals in my home state of AR as a kid. Now my bro & I play all types, especially bluegrass, music whenever we can. Peace!

  • I wore Buddy Holly rims back then, but I think that particular line was Leroy's. My line was "I held my nose, I closed my eyes", right before Quail popped in with "I took a drink". As they say, "thems was the days".

  • what is your dad's name

    what is he doing now?

i love this and play it often

  • these boys are good

    wonder where they are now?

  • The fiddler wearing the cop shades is Kenny Kosek, who has put out several instructional DVD's, etc. I don't know who the other members are.

  • the other fiddler is my dad

  • Thanks for posting the vid. Not a lot of video of these guys available.
