  • Oh the joys of searching thru all the crap - looking for a decent suvival knife.

  • You should look into the rtakII..NOW THATS A SURVIVAL KNIFE..

  • Id rather have a knife that wont snap of the handle than some thread and couple matches.

  • Kabar all the way.

  • I they SAY it is water proof, and you are going to test it, make sure you know if anything can get damged by water first. Such as take out all the supplies and just put in a piece of paper or sumthin, drown it, and see if it is dry. I used to have one of those knives. It WAS NOT waterproof. It was a decent knife, but I have several new ones now: Kabar Dozier Design And Kabar Dozier Design ( the second is a survival knife rather tahn the first, which is a buck knife.)

  • ive seen 4 year olds with these

  • i have the same exact knife just black and the brand is jeep

  • dude this knife is shit. It's an attempt at copying the popular Columbia brand survival knives.

If you know anything about knives than it should be pretty obvious why you never pick a one (especially one for saving your life) with a hollow handle. A knife without a tang is just going to snap on you.

Judging by the reflection and texture of the blade, it looks like cheap stainless steel to me. It's just going to dull and refuse to get sharp. And that's IF it doesn't break first.

  • For those of you that think this knife blows, you really don't know much about survival. He ain't out fightin Nazis ya idiots! It's a basic survival knife, and used PROPERLY, it CAN save your life! I like this kid, didn't try to hide weed in the handle like isomeone i know would have. Someone should explain to him what the serrations on the back of the knife are for. Anyway, nice job, kid. F th idiots that think being a man is to bring themselvs up by putting u down. Punks, not survivalists

  • @tomblack2112 you really don't know much about knives do you...

  • @tomblack2112 Here here! :)

  • @tomblack2112 It actually isnt that bad. I didnt like it much, but it didnt shatter like they said it wuld. It DID get dull fast though, and rust. I couldnt sharpen it either. O well. still a decent knife.

  • bad knife get a real one dude you dont wana trust that in the woods

  • i had one of those, i only got it because it looked cool.

    completely useless.

    piece of crap. utterly.

  • i have that same knife

  • ok, id like to say first off..this thing blows. second, id like some opinion on a new survival knife. im thinkin the gerber lmf 2. i cant seem to find anything wrong with it, but if you can find one..lemme know

  • The gerber entire range sucks and this kids knife blows. Hollow handle LOL not full tang. kid go try battoning with that piece of shit. Fake ass rambo knife LOOOOOL

  • wow fail... i bet theres no point in you having that peice of crap cus if u where any kind of bushman youd know how much of a fail that is

  • i use a united cutlery bushmaster it has a hollow handle never had a problem u dont just "lose" a knife as long as u return it to the case and make sure its starped in ur fine

  • shitty knife fag

  • becker bk2 campanion rocks

  • +1....

  • @4770589 yah !!!!! i love mine

  • what a piece of junk, how much did that cost $10?

  • i dont think that knife would stand up to a lot of heavy work out in the field, but id rather have that knive than no knive, but i have a gerber lmf2 and thats a good survival knive.

  • Although I have other knives I would prefer over a ka-bar....

For the money, ka-bar knives can't be beat as far as general survival tasks. Just strap all your extra gear onto the sheath itself or in a seperate kit bag.

If you need to be prying open doors and chopping down large oaks go get yourself a crowbar and ax/saw. Knives can't do EVERYTHING fellas.

Ka-bars are solid and will not let you down. Former Marine...Semper Fi.

  • Je5e screw off, usmc all the way! the few the proud i served and my son showed me this so stop TRYING TO BE ALL COOL YOU HAVE WHAT YOU HAVE MAKE THE BEST OF IT

  • Get a Ka-bar and a ultimate survival technologies strike force firesteel.

  • Get a Ka-bar

  • I don't think I'd ever use a Hollow tang knife as a survival blade, or a stainless steel knife for that matter. If that was a real flint you mentioned, (Rock not firesteel), I doubt you'd get a good spark with a Stainless knife, steel's to soft.A high carbon steel would work well, full tang. You're best off putting that mini kit in the handle in your pocket, wouldn't wanna lose your knife and kit at the same time.Been said before on this thread,But I'd go with Ka-Bar.I love my Fixed blade warthog.

  • your fucked if you get lost and that is the knife you carry.

what a joke get a real knife

  • guys what the fuck its a god damn knife that hes just showing people but u guys throw in soooo muhc conspiracy and shitty controversey

  • The knife would break if you tried to do even cut something with it.

  • that knife sucks. i like my usmc kabar thats a nice knife (in my opinion)

  • yes, i've usmc camillus

  • @vigilante1202 not just in your opinion. it is in mine as well

  • this knife is a piece of shit

  • 100% id break the handle off that knife is 32.5 seconds

  • Eminem...Noooooooo!!!! Any knife with a hollow handle is a Hollywood prop.

You always want a knife with a tang that goes all the way through the handle. In other words, you want it to be a single piece of metal with one part being the blade, the other part being the tang, the part that is the handle that usually has some wood or synthetic material bolted on so you can hold it.

The reason for this: your hollow handle is going to break off over time. Regard your knife as a pry bar; it is.

  • wow dude, youre a fucking IDIOT. my dad's in the Marines, and he has a Ka-Bar that has a hollow handle for survival tools. get your fuckin facts straight.

  • I could take your dad's knife, stick it between two limbs on a tree, and break it in half at the handle with a quick twist.

I don't think Ka-Bar even makes a hollow handled knife and I certainly KNOW they would not be standard issue for Marines or any other servicemen.

Two words for you bright boy: Full tang.

    Look 'em up.

    There is

  • of course its not standard issue.

he has a standard issue full tang black 9" Ka-Bar

he bought the survival one for me out of a catalog.

and also, im pretty sure they issue hollow-tang knives to the Army.

  • really? what ka-bar has a hollow handle? im not saying it dose not exist but i have never seen it .

i also checked on google and could not find any kabar with a hollow handle. i know u.s. marine kabars are not hollow handle.

but reguardless of if its a kabar or not a hollow handle knife is easy to brake at the handle were the blade attaches to the tube.

also i question what tools your dad who is a trained marine would keep in the knife given the gear he has accses to.

  • Cool, although I'd go for something maybe a tad shorter.

I'd lol if inside the survival handle there was a Sianide capsule.

  • Normally a Rambo knife isnt a good survival knife because you have to move into forest and bushes and its complicated move a big knife in this places, maybe its better to choose a full tang and high carbon steel knife

  • plz

  • hay man will you plz tell me were you got that knive or thhe name of it plz if you do i will sub

  • camping or hunting store. "Survival knife."

  • ANY knife is better than no knife in survival. Not everyone can afford £300 for some of these knives so you get what you can and make do.

  • hollow handle = fail.

  • Comment removed

  • is it just me or does that knife look like it will fall apart if actually used?

But the knife design is impressive.

  • 12 inch?

  • Everyone who is enterested in a survival/bushcraft knife, pick up a mora. They are great litle knives!

  • just got the classic mora and it is THE sharpest knife I have ever had the pleasure to cut with. RAZOR SHARP!!!!!! and the best part is it is only $11.

  • nice knife for beginers and cool survival capsul inside.

  • CHINESE PRODUCTS=SHIT!

  • nice but u never want ur survival kit in the knife because if u loose the knife ur completly shit out of luck cause those matches and fishing hooks and line is gone too

  • Just cause it's made in china, doesn't mean that it's a bad knife. There are few companies that do it right in china ie: benchmades "red class" series, cold steel, Byrd, and now some kabar knives.

  • I would rather have that than nothing! anything is a bonus in survival.

  • you willin to trade i have a 14 in black combat/survival knife boie

  • One of my Busse's would cut that in half.

  • no joke, one good hit on that knives "tang" and bye bye knife, pure junk. But hey it looks cool, as long as he doesnt really think of it as a survival knife, or use it, or drop it, or look at it the wrong way it shouldnt break.

  • yes, 31 thousand, 833 people arent interested in ths knife

    pffft

    more like 1

  • GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thats a toy. you take that in the woods and it'll break on you.

  • your all dumb, a combat knife has matches, flint, fishing wire, needles, thread, fishing weight, hook and a compass in it??wow...oooo look im going to stab someone with my fishing hook.oooo im giong to choke someone with my fishing wire. You get the point...

  • Taht is a combat knife

    survival knifes are way diffrent

  • everyone here sayng this isnt a survival knife ur all wrong. U comment on the durability of the handle but if u have one of these you would know that its hollow handle is iron lined. It actually has a high grade of carbon steel inside of stainless steel layer. I have a similar one that has kept its edge for over 4 years now. It is a combat knife mate that's why it looks like one.

  • that's beause it is a combat knife mate

  • cool knife..

i wanted a kabar ($24at the time) marineknife when i was young. My grandpa talked me out of it. he was right i didn't have much use for it, but now that i'm almost forty and have a little girl, i'll get me that knife to keep away the predators, two legged and four.

your knife is probably less expensive but would still do a lot of good for you. might not hold an edge well, or be hard to sharpen but that's up to you to find out.

maybe you can let us know.

  • useful in city traffic

  • Cute knive, but look for a real one!!!!

  • if it has the little black ring around the cap that's called an o- ring and that means it's waterproof. nice knife

    5/5

  • cool knife

  • loock at my knife collection i have 50 knives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it is not full tang it might brake if you put pressure on it

  • does the compas work

  • I wouldn't say this is a good survival knife. It won't hold an edge, given the steel grade, and the supplies inside the handle mean that it has almost no tang, so it's fragile. It's probably welded around the guard.

I would suggest a new knife if you're looking for survival knives.

  • its not welded its held on by a nut and washer

  • this knife is a rambo first blood knife used by sylvester stallone. if u don't believe me watch rambo first blood.

  • one word RAMBO!!

  • its pretty cool...i would rather have a black one...you should also get a full tang knife from ebay incase you break the handle off of this one

  • the thing about stainless steel is it doesnt keep its edge very well and its hard to sharpen

  • i think this is one of your best knives out of all of them!! where did you get it? and how much?

  • its a piece of shit knife made in asia my friend got his for 11 bucks, i gotta gerber which is the best from my opinion, the survival kit in that one is better than the knife itself

  • piece of shit

  • do you have diabetes (the braclet at the beginning) ?

  • i wit heathenwalking sead

  • not full tang which means it is likely to break under heavy use. stainless doesn't hold its edge very well, the stuff in the handle is all low quality anyway (although well waterproofed) I'd ditch it.

  • shiny blade probably means stainless steel, which = lol bad. a hollowed out handle means NAWT full tang. lol. and it doesn't even come with good stuff.

  • Totally agree. Looks like a cheapy! Propably doesn't even know how to use all that stuff let alone get out to ever get 'lost'. Probably thinks she does because she's watched a couple Man Vs Wild.

  • Dude he is right. That is an old and dumb hollow handled army knife that was terrably manufactured. Im a survivalist, knife nut, and My family is very millitary involved. Im tellin you find a better knife!!!

  • eminem12300>>

Lose that knife, kid. It'll get you hurt. Buy yourself a Fallkniven F1, RAT RC4 or RC3, Ontario (M9, RAT3, RAT7), Victorinox (Swiss Army Knives) or a Mora. They are all field proven knives. What you've got isn't a survival knife, it's a liability. And no, I'm not a knife nut- I'm a Wilderness Survival/ Bushcraft Specialist...so I know what I need in a knife. No steel, if incorrectly tempered will hold edge. But 1095 at a 56-58 Temper will do whatever you need it to.

  • Excellent presentation. Very well done. Good sound, Visuals are not too fast or slow.

    Nice job!! Keep them coming!!

  • Good looking knife, but bit big for my taste.

  • im sure his knew to the knife world and every1 makes mistakes =o

  • AND catof21 quit trying to advertize ur gay videos on someones awsomw video

  • it looks more like a rambo knife than a survival knife

  • this knife is useless... check Fallkinven F1.

  • R U fucking kidding this knife has practicaly everything

    and it looks awsome

  • looks are deceiving.

a hollow handle means that the blade isn't full tang. Not full tang=broken knife after trying to use it in a real situation.

It's better to have a good knife, good fishing line, good matches etc. Instead of having one thing that has all of them but is of low quality

  • I have an herbertz stainless survivalknife. How much did it cost

  • Everybody starts somewhere. Lots of guys go through this kind of knife phase when they're learning. Y'all have got to calm down. :)

  • you know what else comes in handy if you are lost...not being a fucktard.

  • wow kid...your ready for some serious suberbia survival. watch out for the those garbage racoons, they'll steal your wallet.

  • A survival instructor once told me " a survival knife is the knife you have on you when you need to survive" --------of course it has to be a knife that wont break the first time you use it lol.

  • i just got 1 of those they are awsome

  • and when i take it off you ,and slash you across your face you will think twice about carrying a lethal weapon because you thought it was cool.GROW BEFORE YOU GET KILLED.

  • Wow. Why so much hostility desperatehouse?

  • Are the voices in your head bothering you?

  • Dude, Thats just a cheap, gimic knife. You need to look for a good knife in your pricerange from Buck, SOG, Gerber, CRKT, Ka-bar, things like that, not that piece of worthless shit.

  • Wothless, This aint no survivle knife. If my live would depent on that piece of shit I'd rather watch 2 girls 1 cup.

  • i could survive off of that! (2 girls 1 cup)

  • wow, that is a peice of shit. stainless steel doesn't hold an edge, the serrations are useless, hollow handles are weak, and you could carry more survival supplies in one pocket. as for carrying matches...try lighting a fire with half a dozen matches on a windy day!

  • There are many kinds of steel, stainless and not, guiltybystander77. As for the handle, I'd be equally concerned with how to keep my grip on it if it got wet.

  • if you want a real survival knife look at ray mears knives they are for survival and bushcraft carbon steel is way better than stainless sharper, holds an edge longer and sharpens easier

  • um, wheres a city boy with a windows mobile device going to get lost anyway?

  • sorry brother but that is a piece of crap of a knife, hard use and the blade will become loose and eventually fall off.

  • its a survival knive because its used as a tool yes the things ih the handle helps but its not a survival knives because it has a hollow handle

  • As to whoever does not like my earlier comment about the hollow handled knives. I have more experience in making knives and using them in the wilderness(real use)than most people. The fact of the matter is if the tang is not good the knife will break under use. I am not saying it has to be a custom knife to be good. But it has to be a good solid tool, not a cheap piece of junk. If you don't believe me than I challenge you to put your knives through

some real work in the bush and see the results.

  • That is NOT why it's called a survival knife. And when will you ever need a knife like that to "survive"

  • u can get this knife on ebay for like 5 bucks.....

  • You fucking faggot!

  • thats a great survival knife-it will survive as long as it hangs on the wall while a real knife does thew work.

  • If the knife is attached well..to the handle- then it will last ...if not then its not any good...i like the hollow handle idea. and I liked the size of the knife..not too big or small...and the blade doesnt look too bad..if the steel is a good grade then i like it..again all craftmanship must be tops or it aint gonna go far...

  • There are a few hollow handle survival knives out there that can take abuse, but they will not be found in most stores. They are made by custom bladesmiths who machine the entire knife handle and all out of a piece of bar stock. Thus the handle is the tang. If the knife does not have a full length tang it will fail.

  • i stopped using the hollow handle knives long ago, low life span

  • You obviously have loads of stuff to do.

  • that knife is garbage and wouldnt last 10 minutes in the woods

  • yall just shut the hell up dont say that knife sucks, it can obviously cut and has stuff in it, im sure none of you guys have something close to this knife

  • obviously, you are not into knives too. You could go to cut with this thing and it would break. I have been into knives for years and have VERY good brands. I KNOW WHAT IS GOOD AND WHAT IS BAD!!!

My first knife at 7 years old was better than this shitty thing!! Most of my knives range about $100 and some go to a few hundred dollars. I would be afraid to have this thing!

  • ass..hole

  • This knife sucks, it's a fact. What are you gonna do?

You haven't even seen it cut anything. The shit in it is stupid. My pocket can carry more stuff. And no we don't have anything close to this b/c who would want that piece of shit around?

A $11 Mora can out-class this any day...

  • great

  • its too shiny, charlies gonna see you! SHHHHHHHH!!!! here he comes!

  • the survival is not in that freaking knife.. its in your head! learn stuff! dont spend all your money on a heavy "cool" looking knife! you can survive with a carpenterknife..

  • this knife sucks... get a rambo knife

  • he can't, he's not rambo.

  • i have to agree with most of the other people, there is no use for that. If you want a decent 'survival' knife, expect to pay at least 50-75 for one. The higher up in the price, the better knife you get. If you want a serious knife, get a Busse. Although way out of you budget ($20) you will never break it. save you money because they cost about $400 for starting knives...

  • If a knife costs 2,000 dollars it doesent mean it is a super good knife.

Ka-bar and cold steel makes wonderful knives for under 75 dollars.

So dont go on 'the more expensive, the better'.

  • i totally agree,honeywell690 is a fuckface.He is mentally retarded.I just bought a gerber lmf 2 for 157 dollars and it rocks.

  • no offense dude but gerbers today are the worst shit you can buy. ever since fiskars took over they have sucked.

I said a good knife starts at $50. whatever you like is best, but all of the serious knife people will tell you gerbers are far from great.

  • is fiskars the chinese company

cos someone toldme, an adult, that gerbers arent goign as well as they used to cos they got taken oover by a chinese company

  • with the terrible quality that they have, I think so

  • The more money you spend on a knife, the higher quality and better materials you get. Companies like chris reeve are constantly picked on because many people cannot see why I would spend $300-$500 on just one of their knives. I look for the material, design, and quality in a knife, and they meet these. The sebenza is by far my most favorite

I personally hate cold steel because they have stolen other compaines designs like Benchmades axis lock and called it there own. Plus most are made overseas.

  • that knife will fuck you up!

  • Where did you get that and can it go into the sheath both ways?

  • will it hold up? and is it sharp?

  • Hang that knife on your wall, because thats all its good for.

The blade is weak because its fixed to the handle via a bolt.

Please don't use it or you risk serious injury.

Buy a SOG seal pup they are what many soldiers have.

  • yeah,in sweden and denmark the sog seal pup is the standard special ops knife.I have that knife and i don't like it b/c it isn't balanced very well, personally,i like the gerber lmf 2.Visit my channel and watch my review on it.

  • The Gerber looks good and at $140 it should be!

Survival or Tactical knives are really down to personal preference.

I've had the SOG Seal Pup some time and like everything except the Kydex sheath.I complained to SOG about the belt assemble being to weak and should be made of Alloy instead of kydex, they said its strong enough for the weight of the knife.

I also have a SOG Flash2 which is also nice.

Thinking of getting a Buck 655ODX ShortNight hawk soon.

  • What a piece of shit knife kid !!!!!!I would'nt even carry that in the back yard.

  • a hollow handle does NOTHING but weaken the tool!

you could fit way more stuff in just one jeans pocket.

serrations along the back edge do nothing but slice your thumb when your trying to get good control for fine carving.

and as for the stainless steel blade: having rust on your blade is a secondary concern to having a knife that will hold a decent edge.

stainless (even high carbon stainless like aus-8 or 400 series) can never hold a candle to real carbon steel (at least 1085)

  • SAS Survival, would come in handy, you may not think it is much cause you are not in some jungle.

  • who here would rather have a mora and an altoids tin psk?

  • Some of the boys over at Bladeforums seem to be "enjoying" your videos.

  • I do :)

    Whine and Cheese!

  • Of course. ;-)

  • Which thread and section mentions it?

  • A thread in Whine and Cheese, "Ultimate youtube knife f**ktard". It is now several pages long.

  • so do some at the USN.

  • LOL.

  • Shit! NEXTTTTTT

  • that knife sucks.

Check out the ranger RD series...THOSE are good survival knives.

  • i would rather have a full tang knife that wont snap at the guard rather than having all that crap in the handle. dude you got taken, that knife is crap.

  • i hope u do get lost. without that knife.

  • I Got One To But Mine Is Much Bigger And Carbon Steel Not Stainless
