@Angelinabody: the basic difference is that with heavier use or being turned on/motor going for a longer time at each use, the motor will quickly burn itself out.
So, if you only seldom use it, or for only light duty use like drilling a hole, as opposed to long grinding, the cheap one will do. PS - same with accessory bits.
What is the difference between the big name flex shaft systems and the cheaper ones? I'm looking at a 1/3 hp by "Professional Woodworker" that comes with a hanger, handpiece and foot pedal for just $50 - why and how can it be that cheap? It comes with a year warrantee but is it junk? and why is it junk?
It's important to wear a dust mask or respirator as well, to keep those fine particles from getting in your lungs.
