you are an amazing person Peter.... been seeing your videos since your first one ... take care .. i wish to meet you someday .... if you post your address then maybe your fans can send you cards or letters..... best wishes
This reminds me of how my grandpa cooks! He's 89 and he'll make a huge amount of homemade chicken soup which lasts him all week. It's really yummy. :)
Hi Peter, everybody needs some warmth in the winter. As we say in Holland, love goes by the stomach. You will centainly attract a nice gal this way! Bon apetite, Hans
It's hard to find lamb around here; and if we do, they are very proud of it. You can tell by the price. I was hoping for a view of the finished product and it's always a treat to watch the 'chef' take the first savory bite! I'm sure it was delicious and 'warmed' you up a bit.
We do not eat much lamb here in the states. Don't really see many sheep. I do see goats, but I think mostly the mexican chaps eat those. Interesting... I think by the time I got to Darby, your hot pot would all but be gone.
This costs ten pounds? Is that twenty (worthless) Bush Bucks?
Are you familar with the anti fast food movement called "slow-food?" (I'm serious)
I was at a local Irish place where I was actually given a jar of Coleman's mustard. I tried a bit on a spoon and the flames from my toes singed my sox!!
Peter, I have relatives I would sell to be able to join you!
it looked good, but I have never had mint sauce before on any kind of meat. Is it good? It must of been a pain to hold the camera and cut the carrot..lol
Nice work: can I just say: safety in the kitchen tip: put the camera on a tripod when chopping veg! ...and maybe ditch the Colma*s? Cook those veg for 5 minutes and use the water as stock?
Nice work - but can I say; safety in the kitchen tip: Use the camera on a tripod when chopping the veg! ...and maybe ditch the Co*m*ns - even cheaper. You could teach younger people something about eating healthy on a budget and not stuffing themselves with supermarket ready meals...!
GERIATRIC! AWESOME VIDEO, MAN! MAKE MORE OF THIS TYPE! i like seeing you in action, rather than simply sitting in front of the camera talking, (even though its interesting). I think i, and the viewers would like to see more cooking and stuff like that you doing! youre awesome , dude. if i lived in Britain id drop by and try your steak, and if it qualifies ;), id share a few recipes of my own! (of course it would qualify, i bet it was delicious!)
This man is totally adorable. A little too far for me to travel to share the dinner but.... One of these days, if I ever get to the UK I just might take HIM out for dinner!!!!
I love how this is so very different than most of your other videos (that is not a negative implication of your other videos - I love those as well). Please, if you have the time and/or resources, do another like this! Thanks!
Please marry my grandmother, the pair of you could cook such beautiful Sunday lunches together...It was her 85th birthday yesterday and she could do with a nice young man like you :)
My dad made a piggy chopping board like that here in NY back in the 1940's that I'm using today.
Peter, great fun video. Inspired me to do a cornbeef with head of cabbage over night in the crock pot for Sunday. It will feed me for about 3 days too. Wish I could pop over for a taste! Thanks for sharing your kitchen. big hugs, tim
Wish I was in the neighborhood, Peter! That looks wonderful!
We've got a bit of a warm front moving from west to east here in the USA and we're looking at possibly 50 degrees F tomorrow. I'll try to fan it across the pond to you to help melt some of that snow. :)
***Never had lamb, it is like veal? I know that you can get lamb chops with mint at a restaurant. Looks like you had a great meal-I'm so envious of the snow!

That's one lovely educational cooking broadcast! Very real-life TV, when you were cutting the carrots and holding the camera with the other hand :-)!
Parsnips ... yes, I encountered those, or better the word, when I was translating the fifth Harry Potter book. It's "Pastinake" in German; had to do quite some research, as they are not so common in German cooking.
Well, reading makes you literate, doesn't it ... and your beautiful video made me hungry :-)!
this has been one of my favorite videos of yours to watch you looked like you were having fun doing it and I would love to see more like this one good show
Seriously, Peter I have one question: Why can't the many other people who make home videos hold a camera like you did! You held it better with one hand than I've seen people do it with two. By the way, that looks like a good dinner. If I were there, I'd surely stop by.
Doing the cooking video was a great idea! I like how you first showed how cold it was outside - I didn't know England could get that cold! And the lamb hot pot - interesting!
aw Peter, it broke my heart when you said you were missing someone to share it with and it anyone was your way to pop in. I would be there in a second and I would have made a lovely pie for pudding. Take care. xxx
That looks absolutely delightful, Peter! And proof that we old bachelors can, without major fuss, still throw together a meal fit for royalty. It just takes an excuse, and that weather you're having is as good as they get. Yuck!
gee i really wish i was able to just pop in... and i would love to have good talks with this man. He is so easy to listen to when he tells his stories... i could listen to him for hours
I have never eaten parsnips. ...nor did we have Lamb growing up. We did have Pot Roast cooked in this manner and just added the potatoes with the carrot and onion. I am going to give it a shot and see how i like it if I can find the seasoning. Thank you for sharing this!
Im all the way over in the States, Peter.. Can you send it to me in the mail??? lol looked yummy, should do some more cooking videos like this one Peter, it was awesome =)
Gordon Ramsey could learn something here. I have made stews with a heat conserving method, bring it to a boil and then put in a box wrapped with 8" or more of insulation (old blankets, etc.), and it can continue cooking on its own for 6 hours or overnight. Takes some experimentation but saves a lot of gas. There are some old time books out on this way of conserving wood or gas to do ones cooking. Thanks for your video, good recipe.
lucky we live in the country so our farm neibors about 3 miles away are buffalo and cow farmers so we get fresh me but its in a plastic baggy all bloody ans such
Watch out Gordon Ramsey! That looked really good Grandad. I'd say an appropriate meal for such lousy weather. We are expecting some snow this weekend in Colorado as well. I hope you get to share your meal. Enjoy Grandad and take care. :-)
