  • 51st Foot: later the Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and now the Light Infantry.

    Fought at Minden on the1st August 1759 the Battle of Minden.

    The Wearing of the White Rose on the 1st of August celebrates the Battle, also Yorkshire Day.
