Use your fingernails, dollface. I'm a bassist too, and while using your thumb is convenient, you'll have cleaner, more consistent sounds, and you'll have more precision too. Your (dirty jokes aside) fingering technique is pretty solid though. I barely saw your hand move, yet you hit most of the notes. Keep up the good work :)

its a good thing smashing pumpkins has always been about billy. your performance is weak, at best. Play "burry me," from gish. it won't redeem you but it may lend some creditability. good luck with that.

Just because Kurt and Billy didn't see eye to eye, Billy had alot of respect for Kurt still and probably 80-90% of Smashing Pumpkins fans are also Nirvana fans. Kurt really didn't like Pearl Jam but he said he would just put that as his opinion because the same kinda people liked Pearl Jam as Nirvana so there was no point spiting the fan base by hating on Pearl Jam. Same principle here.

I love to see someone with your amount of tenacity and great taste in music!!! Focus on your right hand if your not going to play with a pick like every other SP bassist thats great but your limiting yourself with your right hand....stop playing with your thumb...almost indefinately...look at the posture of the great bassplayers you love and emulate that...Ive seen a few bass players that use thier thumb like that and it limits them..
