When I saw this before I saw the season I thought she was a GENUS, but now that I look back it was Marvin's idea! And he also was the first to use the term "backdooring". Either way great plan.
The birth of the backdoor! so awesome. so many people misuse this term so much. You can't be backdoored if you play in the veto comp because you had an opportunity to save yourself.
She found the major loophole in the mechanics of the game at the time and exploited it. You gotta give her credit for making a move that forced a change in how the game is played because it gave one small group of people WAY too much power.
If they hadn't changed it, all you'd have to do is form an alliance of 6 houseguests from day 1, get HoH first week, use the 6-finger plan, and keep the HoH in your group (with better odds of doing so each week). Final six locked in.
this is probably the greatest scheme 2 get rid of a player in big brother history especially when he figured it out and knew he couldn't do anything about it.
This is EDITING at it's finest. Brilliant job. I don't watch this show, but the way it was edited, with every ones reactions as the plot unfolds, someone like me who doesn't watch the show, understands it all. Great job, and what a fucking plan! Too bad that stupid black guy couldn't keep his mouth shut.
@BigOz22 Marvin was the first to mention it on the broadcasted shows, but the Live Feeds of both series 5 and Allstars confirm Nakomis came up with the strategy.
This was, by far, the best season. Nakomis was an excellent player. She used her reigns as HoH wisely. She was definitely the best player. It was sad when Nakomis' plan was used against her to backdoor Karen though. =(
This plan wouldn't have worked if Drew wasn't such a panty waist douche-nozzle. If he would've stayed loyal to Jase, Scott, and Cowboy, Diane would've voted to save Jase with Holly.
Nope... the random names from a sack would mess them up. It's because it's such a brilliant idea... people would abuse it and it would get dull and repetitive.
I know, that was weird. Three girls who played amazing games in their original seasons did horribly in All stars, and were all out very early. Everyone else pretty much played an equal game, though.
such a genius plan. and that's why you can't pick yr own veto players anymore. they just leave it upto chance to backdoor someone. thank god, though. the game would be so boring and predictable otherwise.
If you ever watched Seasons 1-3, you'd know that nominees had no chance then either. There was no such thing as a Power of Veto. That doesn't exist on any other Big Brother in the world. Players should have to be smart enough to avoid the block if they want to stay in.
Please, you talk as if it's so easy to "just get the votes to stay", when they're dead set on getting you out, no campaigning will change their minds.
nobody called it backdoor back then hahaha, back then backdoor meant voting someone out after telling them you werent eventhough they were already on the block
Ugh, you could only backdoor people in BB5. When the veto was first introduced to BB was in the 3rd season. You couldn't use it on yourself though and everyone, not just 6, played. In BB4, the 'Golden Power of Veto' was made where you could take yourself off the block, but still everyone in the house played. In BB5, it was the first time where only 6 people could play, the HOH, the 2 nominees and 3 others that were picked.
Okay, thanks....I started watching in BB5. I would think the first few years weren't as interesting because everyone played.....the veto shakes the game up espceially when only a select few can play.....
Actually, wrong. In Big Brother 3 you were able to use it on yourself if you won it. Remember when Marcellus won the veto and decided NOT to use it on himself and he got evicted? Worst move ever in BB history!
That's because he won a special "Golden Veto" and was only able to use it on himself that week. Every other week you couldn't use it on yourself. Then season 4 they changed it.
Actually, they introduced the Golden Power of Veto at the end of S3 when Marcellus won it. Until that point, you couldn't remove yourself from the block.
@Xanster82 Marcellus had the golden power of veto so he could save himself. In BB3 there was a silver power of veto where the nominee could not save himself but the other person on the block. When it was final 5 BB introduced the diamond golden power of veto where the nominee could this time save himself.
When I saw this before I saw the season I thought she was a GENUS, but now that I look back it was Marvin's idea! And he also was the first to use the term "backdooring". Either way great plan.

Great editing. While all members of the six-finger plan explain what's going on, they throw in shots of Jase at his most douchiness.

Dammit, Marvin had to say something about Diane being a pawn which made Jase figure the plan out.

smart plan, but still to this day the backdoor is so damn lame. they need to go back to the format from BB3 and 4 where everybody gets a shot.
