I am open to change, and every one of the real SP albums have been wonderful to listen to. Especially the ones from 88-98 (I speak of EP's and promos here when I say 88) Can anyone honestly say though that this is The Smashing Pumpkins? It isn't. Name it something else. 2 members are gone, and I can only wonder why.
it's official... billy's not the god i used to remember him by. this is why most amazing musicians retire gracefully and only come back when they have something mind blowing to share with the world... so frustrating cause i know how incredibly amazing he can be and how much talent he has... but this song is below him
Yeah...sorry your world just got shattered because someone isnt the same person they were 10 years ago... the song is very fitting of the NEW Pumpkins. Quit living in the past. He's a "god" simply because he is Billy Corgan and what he has accomplished. Dont lose faith because this song isnt up to YOUR standards.
no-one could of said that any better, cherubrocker. i hate when people are so comparitive of SP's music through the times like it's a bad thing. does anyone notice that every one of Sp's albums sound completely different to the one before it? come on. if they kept churning out the same stuff, you'd eventually get bored of it. you'd probably even think "do something different!!!"
Which "amazing musicians" have "retired gracefully" in your view. I don't know of many musicians who have retired just because they're not at the top of their game anymore.
Well Chris Cornell hasn't retired. He hasn't retired the Soundgarden material either. In fact he opened a recent televised show with Spoonman and didn't play a solo track until 4 songs in (Playing Temple Of The Dog - Say Hello 2 Heaven and Soundgarden's Outshined first). I'm sure Soundgarden will reform at some point too.
lol, any band that "retired" has some songs played by one of the member's. yea, i saw the temple of the dog reunion in santa barbara though, most amazing concert of my life to see cornell run up with eddie and the gang.

Below him? I love this song. If this shows the quality of the Zeitgeist stuff, it looks like a glorious return to MCIS.
