Real 3D MindMap

this is closer to what i envisioned as 3d mindmapping than the very popular incarnation--a sort triangular(?) prism below prism..?

coupled with a 2d/flat adjustable(toggle hide for those impossibly long lists of 'siblings', 'cousins'..'cousin's cousins (mother's dad)'..) view, hither to connectors(+dare i dream it?connector Annotations xpppp) Plus keyboard navigation--for the making, breaking etc of nodes/connections-------Wow.

you should definitely run with this idea - I came here because i did a search for doing a mindmap in 3d which would be so much more useful than what we have available at the moment if it could be realised properly. I was looking at google earth recently and thinking what if we could have mindmapping software that you could somehow manipulate in such a way. Everyone would use mindmaps if this could be done right - although you seem to have done pretty Ok already

Hi. I wrote this program in C++ using OGRE rendering engine and various other libraries.

you may add some connection properties between nodes:

1. links may thick or thin

2. elevation may be used for classifying nodes

how did you create the actual 3d mind map, I have wanted software that does that for years???

the actual map is made with the glove in real-time. the software gets the gestures and calls the drawing functions accordingly

Can you make a video with you making the mind map with the glove? How much it costs a glove? Do you plan to resell the software?

the glove is very cheap and not that accurate, that's why you need to filter the data (for example with Kalman).

I'm not developing it at the moment, but I plan to make a page about it in my future personal site, with some new features maybe.

Not at the moment because I developed this on Linux, but :

- Ogre is cross platform

- the driver for P5 glove exists for Mac also

so in theory this works on Mac and Windows also, but I don't plan at the moment to make the needed modifications.

Might I ask if there is any version of this either on Mac or Windows?? The answer to this question is quite important to me.
