  • I didn't know Harrison Ford speaks Italian that well.

  • Tune is just so sick i love this tune so much. The bass is just so banging

  • Dear dagoulas83, your candidate for Oscar also acts in 2:07

  • HahahaXD funny man in 1:06 XDD

  • What a wonderful movie! At 01:55 did you also telepathically suggest Harrison Ford "Dance! Go on dancing! Why are you stopping? Song is not over yet!"

  • jedna z rytmów, która rozbiera do naga... :)

  • wicked tune. sounds... strange :) makes uncertain

  • like this. nice vibe

  • I just finish watched this awesome film ..... Polanski masterwork, I enjoyed pictures of Paris in amazing late 80' . and ,,Strange,, is a perfect theme choose for this time's. Pozdrawiam :-)

  • Absolutely stunning dancing and music routine. Takes the tango to new heights and depths

  • Frantic, or how Roman Polanski turned Harrison Ford into a perfect anti-hero. Brillant movie.

  • garce jones take libertango by Astor piazzolla to made strange

  • emmanuelle is so unforgetful, just perfect scene.

  • I wonder if the 13 year old girl that Roman Polanski drugged and raped thinks he is such a brilliant artist, maybe escape artist.

  • One of my favourite films and favourite scenes from it :)

  • In that red dress no way if I was Walker(Ford) would I fight off the advances of Michelle(Emanulle).

One of the hottest scenes in this fantastic movie and Grace Jones music isbrilliant!

  • Never in my life saw dancing with brilliant acting for a new actress!"like this"in films"!a classic scene never happened before in cinema history"and still"!! i never fade up listening to Grace Jone's strange her best ever song or watching siegner's 2min. dacing on polanski's film who unbielivebly succeded mixing up the two pieces together"the song with dancing shots"making them one v.tight thing that he should a new cut to complete the song and the dance to the film .

  • @dagoulas83

    ROFL

  • @dagoulas83 He shunts back again in 1.19 or so... so funny once it's pointed out...

  • @dagoulas83 Absolutely! It was kinda crazy what he did then. Today, all I can say is that we all make mistakes. Because no human being is perfect. Even such a great artist like Polanski.

  • @dagoulas83 yeah! he has a second incredibly well acted appearance at 2.08!! Love him.

  • @dagoulas83 Indeed. He seems very self-satisified and having a great time.

  • @dagoulas83 appears at 2:07 again LOL !

  • @dagoulas83

i think is silvio belusconi's first american tv appearance

  • great song!!!

  • 14 people have no clue what a Classic this movie is!!!!!

  • great movie, great actors, great music and great director Roman Polanski !!!!

  • Just saw mrs. Jones live at Ahoy Rotterdam, Magnificent in one word!

  • buen film, y musica tbm...

  • great movie

  • this scene is really funny... she is awkward, he looks terrified and that dude who occasionally passes through the shot is hilarious

  • @euginam91 you need to see the movie, than comment

  • @LEELOOjk yes I've seen this movie... it is supposed to be tense and thrilling and instead its so bad that it turns funny somehow

  • Really enjoyed this movie and this scene in particular. Wish I could be transported back to that scene and change places with Harrison Ford. Would love to dance with that girl! She's lovely!!

  • harrison ford looked soooo akward in this scene, probably cuz he was so nervous about people trying to kill him and his wife and this girl is trying to make him dance LOL i forget her name but that girl he was with was HOT polanki is a lucky guy.

  • очаровательная песня

  • For those that are saying Harrison Ford looks lost . He IS lost. He is MEANT to be lost and so because you think he is, it means he is acting well!

  • forget polanski. This is a great artist called grace jones

  • Great song

    Emmanuelle Seigner - awesome

  • actualy the name of this song is "I've Seen That Face Before (Libertango)", not "strange"!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • dubbed ffs..... sigh

    But yes, a fantastic scene!

  • It's "Libertango", not "Strange"

  • @MariahCarey3 It's also I've seen that face before, and none of its wrong..

  • The music is "Libertango" composed by Ástor Piazzolla Nice version by Grace Jones, but unfortunately way too fast.

  • Che, mil gracias por la informacion :D.

    Cuidate.

  • @nacheso Gracias a vos. Es un placer. Un abrazo.

  • Świetna muzyka film i obsada !!!

  • I love Ford in this movie, he was so great with his subtlety. At this point in the film, he's on Cocaine, and the tone of the movie just switches to this bizarre kind of trip for him. This scene is like a living dream

  • I love this scene! ford's charakter seems so lost, all these worries on his mind, kinda' stiff - in contrast to the seductive music and sexy seigner. that mix it builds up a strange dynamic. good acting!

  • love this movie & this video

  • this is soooo funny. harrison doesn't know what to do

  • Thanks For Adding this video. Legend. Really good Film and soundtrack.

  • Why is this called 'Strange'...it's Libertango (I've seen that face before). And yes, Harrison Ford is crap...but he had a massive female following in the 80s and as long as you have that in this world, you're 'fantastic'!!!

  • @tenTypWTK : Grace Jones - Libertango

  • WHY isn't that track on FRANTIC SOUNDTRACK? :| i was looking for that for ages!

  • Comment removed

  • It did seem strange at first, but after reading some comments I understand it better.

  • you are the most unperceptive shit head ever to dis harrison. The cunt is a deadly actor. anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool

  • totally agree. he basically plays the exact same character in all his movies...

  • they have this song speeded up wayyyy too much ,,,,ruins the tempo of the original song. Pooh on Polanski or whoever is responsible

  • @2008dada

That's the speedup from Film (24fps) to European DVD (25fps). They didn't bother to pitch correctly, which is a shame.

  • thanks. I like learning new stuff. And I enjoy your channel.

    thanks again

  • I absolutely love this scene, ther's just something about it.

  • classic and un repeatable . Multi talented grace jones is great . 10/10

  • Una de las mejores peliculas de Roman Polanski , excelente tema , ademas de muy buena actuacion .

    Mexico

  • Absolutely the sexiest dance routine since Pulp Fiction. She was good in Bitter Moon but this is even better. Must get hold of the 'Frantic' DVD .

  • Cudowna piosenka, przepiękna kobieta,kocie ruchy...uwielbiam tą scenę! :)

  • I meant "I've seen that face..."

  • Strange that this is called "Strange" here.

This is a Grace's reggae version of Astor Piazzola's "Libertango" and it was called "I've seen that fave before"

  • I knew it, it is Piazola's!! But Libertango has no lyrics. right?

So the film came after the song? from which year is the song.

  • justo ahora estoy viendo la pelicula y me llamó la atencion esta canción.... xD

  • Director of this great movie, Roman Polanski, is a brilliant artist. Let's support him.

  • he is also peadophile

  • @zmor68 - uh, I'll just watch the movies. Read the transcripts at Smoking Gun. Of course Rosemary's Baby is in my top ten, but hey...

  • @zmor68 I support his movies very much but not his debility for young kids!!!!!!!!

  • @zmor68 yeah, i'm fixing him up with this hot 13 year old tonight because i support him so much

  • @badababada,

13 year old? Probably needs something younger...say 11 or 12? But what the hell, a little bit of drugs to ease the child's inhibitions...and a sympathetic Europe to run and hide in...who couldn't support him???

  • @zmor68 child sex offender u mean ??

  • @zmor68 Yeah this was cool..roman is cool too..a real rebel..but dont u think its kinda crazy what he did?

  • I saw this movie some years ago on late night television. Did not catch the opening of the movie, so did not know the name of the movie, etc. I spent years trying to find out the name of this song. This particular scene blew me away. Nobody moves or dances like Emmanuelle. I never forgot these dance scene. Probably the most seductive scene that I have ever seen on screen. I can see why Polanski fell for her. She is simply awesome!

  • My favourite movie of all-time. Everything about it is so evocative! Including this scene/track. Seigner and Ford are both fantastic in it

  • i like the movie frantic - and i love her performance in the "jonny depp movie" where she is playing the devil

  • me gusta este tema... lo conocí con esta peli cuando era un niño, y rayé con la música y la forma de bailar de la tipa =)

  • ella me encanta como se mueve :P

  • This music is weeeird! It creeped me when i was a kid!

  • Haha, kako je lik ne zainteresovan! :D

  • ay que feliz era cuando vi esta pelicula que Paraiso era para mi el Paris desconocido, aquel que amaba por bello y por literario....ahora el paraiso se ha perdido y las ilusiones van con el

  • yeah, harrison looks so lost. that's right. in fact, he's got his ass kicket and he tries to climb roofs like a completely loser. you have to watch the entire movie to understand, though. :)

  • "kicked". i'm a loser myself. :)

by the way, i love the shower scene. remember? he's taking shower and his wife is answering calls and leaving the room... :)

  • Seigner is amazingly beautiful, that's why Polanski married her. The way she dances with those slinky cat moves, the way her midsection undulates. Vavavoom, I've never seen anyone dance like that before, totally amazing.

Now... the music, haunting, mysterious and sexy too. It fixes in perfectly.

I could never have asked for a sexier dance scene.

  • You should see her performance in "Bitter Moon"...sexy as she can only be. There is one particular scene where she dances to Brian Ferry's "Slave to love" with Kristin Scott-Thomas, it lasts only a few moments but it's excelent

  • I will definitely check that out. Thanks for letting me know.

  • OK, i just saw it, LOL, at the look on his face. She totally messed him up, but yes the dance was very sexy, she does some of the same shoulder moves.

  • You have to take the scene in the context of the rest of the film. If you watch it from the start you will know what's going on.

  • Was this movie supposed to be funny? Like, Harrison looks soooooooooo lost throughout this whole scene...like...????

  • No , it's a thriller

  • I've seen that face before.

  • great scene, great film and great song i'm love it

  • I loved this movie and this dance scene...wonderful, so much going on. Anyone notice how in the last scene of the movie..Dr. and Mrs. Walker are sitting in the car and then a close up of the garbage truck as it loads the garbage and drives away. Hmmmm

  • this is cinematic history ... a perfect scene!!!

  • Why do creepy abduction movies always take place in Paris? Strange...

  • This is a tamer version of 'Taken' with Liam Neeson... not as much violence or shooting.

  • strange....no one has mentioned the scene on the stairwell - that was the scene i remembered best from so many years ago!

  • One of my favourite movies!

  • love this film and this music...

  • harrisson ford look like an imbecil in this film hahahaha

  • I really wanted Harrison Ford to HIT IT in this movie with Fraunchie!!!! LOL

  • Ya, it's a bit strange that he doesn't even appreciate her when she is so beautiful and sexy. Suppose it must be cos he was meant to be just too worried about finding his wife?

  • Aaaahhhh I guess....It would've been a thing to see for sure LOL

  • It's a metaphor.

Mrs. Walker represents bourgeoise respectability and safety. Dr. Walker worked hard all his life to achieve that and when his wife goes missing it means he must question who and what he is and his purpose.

The girl represents the freedom from duty he has gave up and forgot long ago.

He finds his wife again but he loses the girl in the end. He cannot have both.

He will never know if wife was raped in captivity and she will never know if he made love to the Michelle or not.

  • Thanks for that. That's interesting.. makes you consider the film in a different way.

  • What I find interesting is that you could make many movies about the same story.

While their parents are away, the teenage daughter is throwing a party and she is coming of age. Walker's son, Richard Junior is a kid probably living in his father's shadow. The married couple are trying to relive the romance of their youth.

Michelle is a troubled young model and prostitute and smuggler.

The Arab hoodlums are playing cat and mouse with the French/Israeli agents.

    Such a rich story.

  • Good story and well directed. Harrison Ford does a good job and Emmanuel Seigner brings her individual style. I could watch this movie many times.

  • Everytime you watch this movie you always notice something new.

  • thx...

  • this music says mystery it makes u want do something passionate!

  • teleio!

  • STRANGE MOVIE

  • Comment removed

  • genius

  • I believe the song is properly called "LIBERTANGO".

  • Strange.. I love this song so much.. :)

  • This song is so catchy, I just cant get it out of my head :D

  • Roman Polanski is Polish.

  • European movies are lightyears ahead the american movies.

  • don't say that

i'm european and i luuuuv american cinema

    i luuv european

    they're just different that's it

  • Pretentious. American has produced a plethora of talented filmmakers in the past century and set many trends in film in terms of direction and acting. And FYI, lightyears are a measure of distance, not time.

  • I think to be honest that both American and French cinema have had their high points and both have their drawbacks - the American movies often too "action packed" and the French movies can be pretentious - pretending to be better than they are.

  • Rachegotter are You able to thinking??? Polanski is from Poland and He is Polish so stop writing stupid things. (ok he was born in Paris but he has accepted citizenship status French in 1975 and He always repeat "I'm Polish")

  • French movies are the best. This one is no exception.

  • wrong statement

  • i know all that, but come on, french movies are not that brillant compared with american movies. However french cinema is really improving right now. By the way have you watched "bienvenue chez les chtis?"

    peace

  • OK. You and I have resolutely different opinions on what "a good movie" is. I like realism. You probably prefer aliens, big guns, explosions, unrealistic espionage stories, etc... By these standards, American cinema is more grandiose, I agree. But for realistic stories that focus on characters rather than on events, French movies are much better.

Oh, and no, I didn't watch "les ch'tis". To me, it's a disgrace to culture. Overrated stream of clichés for people who like unsubtle jokes...

  • wow, what a funny and ironic character. An other wrong statement about american movies, however I agree for les chtis but still it's funny, and I find quite snobish that it's for people who like unsubtle joke.

  • every country has their own pictures, there is nothing better than the "new hollywood" era in the 60s and 70s in the usa, but this was all influenced by immigrants from europe... and think of nouvelle vague in france, THIS is cinema and no 200mio dollar production with special effects...

  • Da scene is so 80s. I love it cause it doesnt demand much of me..

  • one of the best scenes in movie history

  • Definitely.

That (the video's) is exactly the cut I saved from "Frantic" back around 2003 or so-- i.e. first time viewing the movie and hearing "Strange". Seems to be the best version; and, it's where the song fits perfectly.

Works both ways. That scene is nothing very special without that song; the song doesn't mean nearly so much without the memory of that scene.

  • mi mujer se vuelve loca con esta cancion-escena-baile... me gusta verla loca..

  • she´s a catwoman.

lon time ago she ate a plant (gomero (ficus elastica") in a tv program from Chile...jajaja

    she´s a wild one!

    Cool song though.

  • on my top 5 favorite movies ever.

  • tragoudara ap ta palia

  • Esta escena me encanta.

  • I've loved this scene since I knew it. I wouldn't talk down to iiiit...
