  • Now, I'm homesick. ((tears)):(

  • At 3:33, that's me and my old Girl Scout troop!! SO COOL :D I remember doing this!

  • We know you guys have JOBS there - wait, we'll come in millions, LOL.

  • I am so happy I was born here.

  • Way to focus on downtown and the Millard area, people don't need to know about north O huh?

  • ZOMG THEY HAVE BUILDINGS111 AND THEY HAVE BLACK PEOPLE TOO 111 SO THAT MUST BE LIEK, THE GREATEST CITY EVAR!!!

The stuff about working together is great though but I dunno if its true cuz im not believe a commercial

  • why u have to make me feel sucki about my siti now, you showed abousetly none of the bridge we walk on every day, the park with water next to the condos the big city lights when its christmas, the fireworks that boom next to the woodmen and 1st national bank, what the crap is worng with uou please don't make are city seem like sum grasshag austere state plz and thnk u

  • at 2:47 my band played there it really was quite amazing

  • ..a lot of bars, i remember living there on jones street, there's this bar called crosstown, where i used to hangout at, one night i got robbed at gun point there. the casino over in council bluffs was cool, my ex girlfriend dragged me out there to start a new life, but didn't work out. i wouldn't mind visiting that place for the memories i had made there with my ex.

  • I worked for Redfield @co a printing companyhere in omaha, gave them my all and when I got hurt on the job they fired me . So yes maybe im bitter, but fuck omaha and fuck you midwest cornfucks. i hate you cocksuckers

  • @linoma57 right back atcha

  • love Omaha my fams got deep routs here

  • I moved to Omaha from South Africa for six months for medical reasons, a very nice place to stay, with warm friendly people! :) Actually miss it:(

  • I live here its kinda boring after u lived her a while.

  • @zubberlove i know! I guess it cause your so used to the exciting stuff.

  • Great city out west but top 10 worst ghetto in the nation WOOTWOOT

  • I miss the Big O. I had lived in the metro for the first 30 years of my life, but had to move b/c my wife got a job elsewhere. We plan on moving back to Nebraska. From my experience, 'The Good Life' is a slogan that all a Nebraskan should heed too. Can't wait to raise our family there.

  • @theziggityshow, George Bush didn't go to Omaha on 9/11; he came to Bellevue (the oldest town in Nebraska) which is just south of Omaha. Kinda disappointed the Omaha Chamber included pictures from Offutt AFB in this as well since Offutt is, again, in Bellevue and not Omaha.

  • I think this is more about the 'greater Omaha metropolitan area'

  • @Vape4life I get that, but still Omaha's stealing Bellevue's thunder LOL :) (BTW I'm highly sarcastic & doesn't translate well in written form- Bellevue sadly has little more to offer aside from Bellevue University & Offutt). But this comes across as all about OMAHA & not the entire metro, the don't mention the surrounding communities at all. Nicely put together video

  • This really needs to be in HD...comon guys...seriously.

  • I didnt see 90 feet of snow or 40 below zero on there...

  • people who live here are so lucky...justin bieber has a song called "omaha mall" im jealous. but its beautiful!:)

  • I'd rather live in Council Bluffs

  • OHHH YEAH OMAHA is Multi-Cultural! Just look at how the video showed the 300million acre of Indian reservation that was taken. Or how NOW, there is extreme poverty on the reservations, but allyou see is White,Black "Christian" caring. BS ad. Its a discrace to reall issues!

  • Omaha is actualy the center of the world but gets no recognizion where did George bush go on 9/11 who gave the most to haiti and who has the biggest indoor aquarium and beef prosesing plant o town get down

  • That background music is annoying... and so is the man with the English accent. That said, the video itself is great and well-representative of Omaha's diversity.

  • I don't know what to say, Omaha is my home but this video shows, for the most part, a city that I have never seen. The sports, the Henry Doorly Zoo, and those ugly ass statues you can find all over town are possibly the only thing this video got right. If I wasn't spending all my time in college I would get some footage and make a video of the real Omaha, the Omaha that I call home. This video was not my home.

P.S. That Justin Bieber kid should be shot for ruining the name of my home.

  • in december im going to move to OMAHA :D Great city

  • Lol, this video is fucking retarted.

  • This is all BS, the city is going to the dogs, Lets tell the truth, we have alot of gang problems. the crime is off the chart. Our taxes are going up with no stop in sight.. The mayor is only out for big business. Go luck up the city budget for 2011....The police are making more money not working by spiking. PPL are moving out as fast as they can. We have more homes for sale then ever in history.. But when this BS video is over you can watch a high speed police chase, thats more correct.

  • This video is bs. This is what money can buy, this is not Omaha.

  • Our new mayor is going to make sure to burn Omaha to the ground with new taxes and out of control spending.

  • yay omaha... we love our pot smokers, but god help you if you're gay... "openess", "progress"... lol

  • I like Omaha cuz that's where my best friend is from. :)

  • Dios bendiga Omaha

  • Dios bendiga Omaha

  • I live in Rio De Janeiro (that is very different) and had already vsited Omaha several times for business and I was very impressed with the quality life, education and the peace. People knows how to receive the international visitors. It was really a nice experience and my congratulations for the Omaha population!!!

  • what do they mean by omaha is center of the world?? not even close, New York or Miami is the center of the world

  • I love the old market. Best part of Omaha no doubt.

  • yooyo omaha rules

  • i live there..

  • Whats that thing their building by the Quest Center. Kind of looks like a stadium

  • its a new stadium for our Omaha Royals baseball team

  • MY OMAHA!!!!!! :)

  • I love Omaha!!!

  • Are people cooler in Omaha then Lincoln? I just fuckin hate Lincoln NE

  • Damn right it is(:

    But, theres nothing to do.

I love Omaha, but its so damn boring.

  • Try living in Lincoln, NE. There ain't shit out here.

  • Hahahahah not much oyt here jsut amazing people((:

  • wow, this video makes it seem way more full of life than it is, trust me, i grew up there

  • They had to throw in the white gal with the big black buck.

  • i love omaha. always something to do.

  • I was just in Omaha and was amazed by what a dynamic city it has become. Nothing to do there? We didn't have enough time to do all that there was to do there. Sad that some peeps insist on believing some wornout old stereotype that Omaha is some boring place. The facts show otherwise. Very impressed.

  • @boneman222 good joke, i moved to omaha when i was like 4, and i have grown up here, im now 20 years old, and there is not shit to do here, and it sucks ass. Apart from the college world series, there is nothing. No professional sports teams, no mountains, no oceans, it gets hotter than Africa in the summer, and colder than siberia in the winter I cant wait to gradute college, i am gettin the hell outta here!!!

  • @mambac7 Balony. Just as much to do in Omaha is there is in any city its size. You guys who complain of nothing to do can't ever say what it is you want to do that you can't there. Yea sure, you can't climb a mountain. Otherwise? Stop griping.

  • @mambac7 idont blame you.

  • @mambac7 Come to Buffalo, New York. We have the most hardcore sport fans in the country. It's never boring here. The newspapers are always packed with fresh murders. The obituary section is a mile long. If the people don't kill you the blizzards will! And I hope you like drinking because... well, bars are literally the only thing to do here. Good luck driving home and avoiding drunk drivers. If you come here don't move to the west, north, east, south or downtown parts. they're official ghettos.

  • Sorry but i hate Omaha, theres nothing to do here. Its hotter then hell in summer and frezzing cold in winter. Plus no offence but it's ulgy. ONe amazing thing about Omaha is all the people I have met here are amazing and their are the bestest friends anyone can as for(:

  • So your telling me Omaha is boring? Pretty much means the whole state of Nebraska is boring. I should just move to Colorado.

  • Well, idk if the state of NE is but Omaha is pretty boreing if your too young to see the night.

  • @osamabindrinkin40s thats exactly what i am doing, ince my diploma is in my hand, im moving to denver, sooo many fine ass ladies, boulder, mmmmm mmmmm mmmmmmmmm

  • @mambac7 Downtown Denver is awesome!

  • @osamabindrinkin40s Just when I thought that I couldn't be reminded of Denver your comment shows up. No offense Denver isn't the issue nor are you. I just thought it was kind of funny to see your comment when it's the think I'm trying to avoid most remembering things associated with that place.

  • Omaha is Awesome!!! :)

  • It is not perfect yet, but if we all work toward it, it may be as close as any ciy in the USA..

  • Great video, who made it?

  • I hate Omaha because there really isn't much to complain about ..

  • Some of the best people I ever met were in Omaha. It is a small city, but it has a lot.

  • Sure Omaha isn't perfect no place is!!! It's an awesome city and people need to stop ranting about drugs n' stuff. Our job economy is great and it is not our fault there are jerks out there doing crime.

Los Angelos is far worse (no offense). We are not perfect so STOP dissing us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Omaha ftw ;)

    our Music scenes amazing.

    "The Home Of Indie" <3

  • i love my hometown n all but omaha really needs more fun things n skate spots

  • I lived in Omaha from 1968 to 1974. I left when I was 14. It was such a wonderful place to live. We made lifelong friends there.

  • alsome video about omaha i lived here for 17 years

  • Nice looking gardens at 2:40

  • Whenever Omaha is put in the spotlight, I expect someone to stick up for us. But all I hear is... BAM!!!! F**CKING CORN!!

  • i love omaha too and that guy is a fuckin dumbass bt that dumb piece of black shit was too far

  • omaha is the best fucking city ever if you don't agree move to iowa or something

  • Lived here all my life... It's an Okay place. But drug rate is higher than the nation's.

  • Wow. way to label us...

  • When did Omaha get a downtown?

  • long before I was born

  • They make Omaha look like a cult or something

  • Okay good place to live. nice people..but I would never tell anyone to come here...Its def. NOT a place to visit and vacation thats for damn sure..To Boring..How many times can you go the the zoo,Mall,Quest Center..blah blah

  • Condo buildings are going up, we could use some night clubs in down town :)

I don't know what else we can add, it's not like we're ever gonna be LA, but we can try to be St. Louis :)

  • Or Kansas City ..

  • Omaha is not like what it used to be the crime is quite bad.. The city and county do not maintain the streets and keep the town clean.. Omaha has fallen down over the part 10 years..

  • Harlan, you're out of your mind. I was born here and have lived here for decades. You make it sound like Detroit. Omaha does a better-than-average job of keeping this city good. I'm no "booster" but I won't knock them down unless they deserve it.

  • If we had an ocean and mountains we would be the best place in the US. Nevertheless, Omaha gets better each year.

  • I like this video. I lived in Omaha for years and I moved. And I can say nothing is compared to Omaha, a beautiful midwestern City full of attractions. Schools are great. A great quality of life. I wish I could go back and spend the rest of my life in Omaha.

    Omahans I envy you!

  • Nice video, well produced, but so contrasty / heavy shadows..... hard to see details in majority of the scenes.

  • The arts are here, but they are expensive & there isn't always a selection every night. In Seattle and Provo, Utah, there was a variety of events every night and community theaters charge 8 dollars a seat instead of $15-32. The $15 dollar places here are crap and I haven't gone to Omaha Community Playhouse yet (32 dollars a ticket). The quality of productions (drama, musical theater, Opera, symphony) was better in Seattle and Provo and cheaper. Its hard to want to support the arts here.

  • yep, im from omaha and i smoke weed everyday, and most the people i know or have met smoke it. too bad we still have cops who care about it

  • Born and raised in Omaha.

  • JoeCubicle - Omaha NE - Born and raised.

  • secen murders here last week. not that safe anymore. you should see our news casts and see how often and who is cousing the problems. you wont want to come here

  • :) This makes me want to visit Omaha even more than I did before... It seems like a truly lovely city.

  • I love this City. There isnt a whole lot to do attraction-wise and there is no beach though. It's oriented towards older midwestern white people though, but that's changing. What makes Omaha special is that nearly the whole town was built from private efforts. Pretty much every thing except the Qwest center was made from pocket changge.

  • revieve peony park!

    that will get more people!

i want peony park back =[

  • Yes! But too late. So sad but great memories!

  • I guess they plan on building some type of attraction like that in Wahoo. My sister in law's father, who owns the land the now Hy-Vee stands on -- tore it down. I give him hell everytime I see him :)

  • Omaha is an amazing city and you shouldn't listen to any critisisim, we have our faults, but come on down and you'll realize how great it is here. Plains Power!

  • I was born in Omaha in '68, moved to CA in 1979, and have visited about every other year since then (family). I still love my hometown, and would love to move back when ready to retire in the future....I miss living there a lot...

  • Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine, July 2008 Rates Omaha as the No.3 Best City to live in. Calling it the PARADISE ON THE PLAINS Population: 821,356

I lived here 30 years now....It's comfortable and as interesting as you decide to make it.

  • Yes... Omaha is a pretty cool city now that I've visted there.. Yes the city "limit" population is bigger than St. Louis and all the other cities so I give it props. Wasn't too bad... but I have to admit I missed Mpls and the metro area of 3 million... Midwest fo lyfe... Omaha and all!!!!!!!

  • Talk about affirmative action. Omaha's population is 78.39% caucasian, and 21.61% minority. Yet, this video shows the community to be at least 50% to 60% mionority. That doesn't make sense.

  • I heard it gets cold. So cold you just want freaking stay inside and sleep all winter!

  • There really isn't a reason to not like Omaha.

Mountains are annoying to drive around anyway. And we have plenty of lakes.

  • Lakes are great....NO SHARKS... NO TIDAL WAVES... NO TSUNAMIS... NO OIL SPILLS. DUH!!!!!

  • Diversity is not in question here..

We have the 12th lowest cost of living versus 366 other US metro areas AND are the 41st highest paid out of 366 US metro areas leaving us with CHA-CHING!!!

Plus, including Lincoln which is a very short 20 minutes from the sw edge of the city, the area boasts 1.2 million people..

No mountains, no oceans, but with that said there are many lakes, the Loess Hills, great jobs and to me is the best place I have lived in, I am glad dumb people don't give it a chance!

  • Everyone knows Omaha- we're bigger than St. Louis and Miami. I'm beginning to think you live in Des Moines cuz those people are always jealous of us.

  • you live in fucking new mexico, shut your mouth lol, i've never heard anything from anybody about new mexico, and i doubt many people posting here have either, just like you haven't omaha. if you don't want to hear about something, or haven't met anyone from somewhere, then you probably won't hear it. It isn't full of white kids trying to be black. Obviously you haven't checked out any of the interesting music scenes, or anything side from one area. Maybe you ought to pay more attention

  • instead of acting like you know a lot about something you don't know shit about.

And if you're in a scene where there's a lot of white people trying to be black, you probably see that fucking everywhere, because it IS everywhere, if you pay attention to and look around for it. And who the fuck do you know that fucks ANYBODY in their family? Be realistic, nobody with a fucking brain does that, and I've never heard of that shit anywhere other than sometime years ago, not in Nebraska. :)

  • And where do you live? Pittsburgh?

  • you bring about what you think about.

If you really hate it so much and it is so BORING then either do something to change it or leave.

Be the change you want to see in the world...

    Ghandi

  • amen...

  • You are clearly blind girl... and did not watch the video... there IS CULTURE AND DIVERSITY!

Get off your chair and computer and go outside and look for what you want. Everybody is not going to come knocking on your door saying 'come outside and witness diversity'.

It is NOT about beaches, mountains, and the environment...it's about PEOPLE and based on your attitude, comments, language, and reaction to others it's no wonder you're unhappy and alone. Smile and the world smiles back! TRY IT!

  • Actually, you sound like the special ed person. Anyone who can waste hours of their life just complaining about places they don't like obviously A) Has no life. B) Is a bitter asshole. I'm not even American, nor have I been to Omaha, but guess what - you're full of s-h-i-t. Go find yourself a hobby, you ignorant sod.

  • @wineandlobos we are "weird' We are people just like everyone else, we are just living in Omaha. What makes us weird?

  • Do you really know anything about Omaha?

  • COOL! they showed my 'FUN' job, Village Pointe!

I've always lived here but didn't realize how great it is till friends who had lived in several cities before moving to Omaha were REALLY SAD when they had to move again. Once in while I wondered about going away to college, but never wanted to move away!

People who don't want to live in Omaha due to weather;humidity, snow, tornadoes, don't get it because they don't belong here anyway! Vacation homes? YES!But OMAHA is HOME.

    ~Omaha Lifer!

  • I love u Omaha keep growing

  • Thanks for posting this! Omaha is an excellent city and I've always loved it. I'm living in Rochester, NY, but I think I'll go to UNO to get my graduate degree.

  • I really enjoyed seeing that video! great job. I think it represents our city well.

  • ahhh, omaha.

Represent! good job. chamber of (commerse)?

  • Yes, I Love Omaha

  • I think that video sums it up. Amazing place with amazing people and amazing food.

  • Omaha, home of kings.

  • I moved to Omaha in 2006 and I love it here.

  • I miss Omaha....Dundee represent.

  • I wish they would go ahead with that new baseball stadium and not bitch about Fahey's proposal. It will only help make the city get even better.

  • I may been living in Texas 4 the last 7 years but Omaha is my Homaha. I plan on coming back 4 college =)

  • the thing is we aren't done more things are on the way. bigger and better things.

  • i love omaha

  • wow.... great vid... I've never been to Omaha but I would like to go visit. I prefer Minneapolis myself and have never looked back. I do have to say that the midwest is where "real America" is. Thanks again for the tour.

  • I moved here 6 years ago from California, and there is a good reason i'm still here...it's unlike any city i've ever been to. I love it here, and will stay =)

  • reppin the big O! great vid

  • I just moved here a few months ago. I love it here. I think I'll stay.

  • Wow!

    Who paid for that?

  • Omaha: not the biggest, but the best.
