i rember me & ron hardy playin this @326 Michigan ave underground i was on lights & every body was likehot &horny off this for some reason! those 1980s i miss those days
I love this song so much. It is so incredibly dark for a Disco song. I was wondering if you know of any other 70's/early 80's Disco that was this dark? I know plenty of Italo/New Wave/Post-Punk/etc but I'm specifically looking for obscure Disco tracks in this style. Thanks!
Oh what great memories The Skatt Bros brings back from many different clubs I frequented.
Even all the clubs I DJed for & guest spots I did.
Toronto was my longest period for DJing at one huge club for nearly 15 years & I used to play this frequently. It always packed the dancefloor! :-) Same for "Life at the "Outpost" :-)
Love this jam. What I don't understand is, I have the original 12 ' vinyl, but it says by 'The Bent Boys' which is approx. 6 minutes and 51 seconds long. Yet it sounds exactly the same from 'The Skatt Bros.'.. input anyone? Thanks for the post!
@cmusses Hi the bent boys version is a cover of this original version. The skatt bros released this in 1979 the bent boys cover version (produced by John Brenner was released on a canadian label in 1984)The original is very rare and can fetch up to £50-60.
I first heard this record at the Warehouse in the late 70's by Frankie Knuckles. It was retarded! Everyboby went crazy, the lights were nutz, the rush was all over and everyone was dancing with the poles and walls!
RIP Ronney The Music Box still lives in my Heart and Soul, Remember the walls used to Sweat!! He was the Very best sorry Frankie but you aint him never had that level of Skill and creation. R.I.P Ron Hardy THE BOX
Yeah I remember the walls sweatin. Remember in the winter time, the heat comin out the windows used to look like a chimney.................sigh.....those were the days. Life about enjoying urself, not its just about staying alive...how things change
you paved a lotta new ground in the game. you were always in my crates during my turntabling days. DAMN... remembering those wkkc friday night audio segments! i still got most of my tapes. your warriors will carry your name in their hearts and memories.
Awesome song. I have it though, but thanks for posting it!
I loved "The Skatt Bros". It's too bad that video "Life At The Outpost" with all the scenes from "Blazing Saddles" didn't get the copywrite to do it!...Oh well...Such is life!
As a native New Yorker and DJ who grew up on the influences local to me (The Paradise Garage, The Loft, etc...), even I know that there is no way in hell you cannot mention Ron Hardy. My only regret during that time was not going to Chicago to hear Ron at The Warehouse. RIP Ron, you're never forgotten.
creeper, gonna creeper, gonna creep and walk the night, alrite alrite, look out night. Creepier got mad and angry eyes, 1 luk from him can parolize, resist at any time or place, creeper gonna slap rite cross yo'face.
Upon his lips the taste of pain, luvin kiss and luvin sane, he's got a rod beneath his coat he gonna ram rite down your throat mak u gwooble on the floor spit up and scream and beg for more (most of the words are rite)
