  • Black Oak was the very first live concert I ever saw, back in 1973 (Saratoga Performing Arts Center,NY). They were back up for Emerson Lake and Palmer. What a pairing huh?! Great concert !!!!!

  • Alright alright alright! Jim Dandy is still strutting his stuff on stage. I just seem him and the boys and they stil kick ass! An I shook jim dandy's hand too!

  • Hi Melody! I thought I sent for mine out of Rolling Stone magazine. I'm sure it only cost a dollar. We could get together and have 2 square inches of land! Peace!

  • Jim Dandy, one my heroes! I still have my Deed for 0ne s quare inch of land in Heaven, Ar.

  • @tarzanzardoz007 So do I and will always have it. It is one of my most favorite treasurers. I think it came with the Ranch & Roll Album. Sincerely, Melody D. Smith

  • Jim "Dandy" Mangrum still alive??

  • yes he is

  • @Chad01234 Yes and he just turned 63 on March 30th, 2011

  • It's not Uncle Elijah It's Uncle Lijiah. I know cause i was named after that song.

  • thanks i got it changed.

  • Actually, it's 'Lijiah, a varient, like 'Lije' (or 'Lige') for short. I had plenty of ancestors named after the Biblical Elijiah.

  • @Lijiah Maybe so, but the name of this song *is* Uncle Elijah. E-L-I-J-A-H.

  • @SpudMills I beg to differ. It's on the back of the debut album, the band's myspace, and wikipedia as L-I-J-I-A-H.

  • @Lijiah Weird. It's spelled different ways on different releases and media. The iTunes files have Elijah, as does my CD released on Wounded Bird Records.

  • @Lijiah Damn right it is. And you are.

  • I saw BOA at Keil with Edgar Winter in 1974.

  • Didn't know that! Thank you!

  • i think he is the 1 that passed out on stage and ems found a cucumber taped to his leg

  • long live DANDY!

  • there aint many people can play a wash board like that...

  • Oh good lord, he's still using that washboard? lol He used it as a prop in the 70's, he pretended it was a chick's you know what. The 70's were unbelieveably incredible, I'm still not sure what happened! lol

  • Awesome!!! Saw in 1973 Evansville IN

  • I remember "Noboy Else" back in New Orleans. Best from Duff, Toot, Rocky, Donna and Jimbo

  • I always loved this song...

  • Jim Dandy never change.

  • Thanks for posting! I seen them (again) In the summer of 2007,In Downer MN,Partyed with Jim Dandy for a hour after the show, had a hell of a time! even though my bike broke.

  • JD is still cool! Thanks 4 puttin this out, bro!

  • when was this shot

i first started listening to these guys when i went through my dads cassetes and found hot and nasty now im buyn every CD of them i can

  • in case most of you didnt know. the drummer for ozzys old stuff played with black oak

  • His name is Tommy Aldridge.

  • Tommy Aldridge, drummer for both Ted Nugent and Ozzy Osbourne after BOA.

  • @rand9234 If you are talking about Tommy Aldridge, he is in my opinion one of the best!!!!!!!!!!!! He has played for WHITESNAKE, but I guess this year Wild Mick Brown from DOKKEN is playing for WHITESNAKE COOL If you remember Ruby Starr he played with her and Black Oak too. Tommy ROCKS like no other drummer I think.

  • Respond to this video... I think it was either Tommy Aldridge or Joel Williams

  • It sounds like Jim Dandy the only original although I might be wrong. The guitar players are playing all over each other. The original band with drummer was kick ass.

  • @rleary1 Tommy Aldridge Ricky Lee Reynolds is still with him after 35 yrs.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Respond to this video... Ricky Lee Reynolds has been with BOA for over 35 yrs.

  • i saw them in springdale ark. in 06. got to shake his hand after the show.

  • that's awesome! I wonder if they be comin' to vegas!

  • who all is left of the original band? is it just Jim or are there others?

  • i havent seen them in AGES!

  • I believe that Ricky Reynolds is still out with BOA. Tommy Aldridge is out playing with everyone from Ozzy to Ted Nugent and whitesnake. at least that is the way it was last I saw them about year and a half ago.

  • Jonny Bolin is BOA's drummer. He is a brother to Tommy Bolin, remember him?

  • Yes. I saw Johnny Bolin with them. Tommy is playing with BOA on the Minight Special and also on the 30 yearr anniversery tape filmed on london. But that was him 30 years ago.

  • @cydonianman Ricky Lee Reynolds has been with him for over 35 yrs.

  • @rphwife ah, thought he was familiar.

  • hope he's watching-I would like to see him do it unplugged, it would be amazing, Jim, really-I can see you singing it now-if you do though, just be sure and invite me to it please. :o)
