  • Shana Tova! Happy 5772 to Jews all over the world! To all the Jews all over the world have an easy fast. Good Yom Tov! Have an easy fast and Good Yom Kippur!

  • Unworthy every false thinking to the attitude of this beautiful song. Please, hear the deep prayer: God of allmighty, God of every race, the only God is one:our king! Our as the fallen humanity, we need his repentance! The arrogance dividing thinking is from Satan. As Barbra said:the hand of God is touched the composer. Thanks for him and the artists for this amazing performance! So deep...

  • @jaabko thank you jaabko, shalom.

  • The G-d of Israel is not the same god of Islam or christianity are any other pagan man made belief in the world. There's only one truly one and that is the G-d of Avraham, Yisthak and Yacob only.!

  • @yochanan121 - you can say that but it doesn't make it true - Hear Israel, the L-rd OUR G-d is ONE - can also be read and undetstood: Hear Israel, the L-rd OUR G-d is the ONLY G-d FOR US - this is in conguence with Micah 4:5 "For let all the peoples walk each one in the name of its god, but we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever."

  • @skyggebjorn ehm .... Google translate ?? :) I disagree with your evidence , but agree with the idea. You are right , there is a point in what you say , though you should have used different quotes.

Its a very deep question to discuss in comments.

  • @vladyandreev google translate?? no. hardly, why use a machine when i can use knowledge?

  • @yochanan121 the stament is true but your attitudeed is bigoted our are represetive for your people act like it dont be a stubling block for people to think less of HaShem the G-s of Israel.

  • @yochanan121 as it is Said in the Torah the god of the People is Idoles and false Gods

  • @yochanan121 There is ONE God, we are all ONE. Though well intentioned you miss the point, I think. ONE. We are all ONE. No one is better than any one. One G-d, beyond our comprehension, and all people are brothers, sisters, and children of God.

  • @yochanan121 I don't know about your god but my God is the same God of our father Abraham...the one...

  • I prat that this will touch peoples heart as much as it has touched mine on the first year of the death of my Father. He helped me to see the good in all and to live in peace with all.

    Thanks for posting this !!!

    May G-d Bless you.

  • Impresionant, "TATAL" va asculta rugaciunea.

  • Great Barbra Streisand !

  • "Avinu Malkeinu" translates as “Our Father, Our King” in English. It is a traditional Jewish prayer, chanted between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, as well as on days of fasting. It calls for mercy, even though the petitioner acknowledges being a sinner undeserving of compassion.

  • a beautiful prayer: Avinu Malkeinu Sh'ma Kolenu (Our Father, Our King, hear our prayer) by Barbara Streisand... what a lovely way to start our meditations and prayers on his Erev Yom Kippur. May all of our prayers be heard and answered. I just LOVE this song!

  • Beautiful! This is a good rendition of Avinu Malkeinu by Barbra Streisand, a proud Jewish singer from New York City.

  • Shana Tova & Hatima Tova to all My Friends and My Family!

  • Wonderful, I know how Barbra was a Committed Jew I have never heard her sing Chazzanut however. She would sound good of the Bimah for the High Holy Days! However I am Kind of disgusted that you included Islam in the Photo stream!

  • I would go back to Church if there was music and songs like this - we have much to learn from our Jewish roots. Beautiful!

  • Преклоняюсь перед этим народом, смогли через прошедшие тысячелетия сохранить истоки всё: священные знания, веру, своё лицо и любовь друг к другу.

  • After having just awakened from a long sleep after crying many tears this afternon...I as well in deep prayer and meditation. Our Father in heaven...thy kingdom come...thy will be done....thanks and praise offered..over and over again

  • Having just wakened from a long sleep following tears falling like an ocean this afternoon, I am as well in deep prayer and meditaion ... praise and thanks being offered..beautiful Jewish music flowing with the blessings

  • Avinu Malkeinu is a Hebrew prayer associated with the Penitential Days from New Year to the Day of Atonement . The two invocations: "Our Father" and "Our King" are either placed together in corresponding sentences as in "Forgive us, Our Father, for we have sinned! Pardon us, Our King, for we have transgressed!" or simply combined into "Our Father! Our King! Reveal the glory of Thy kingdom to us speedily!"

  • @SevenTableTimes thank you, it is so beautifully done by Barbara

it is spiritual, because i did know the meaning of our Father our King

are you Jewish or Messianic ? i am Jewish....thanks again

  • TRANSLATION:

  • I became an atheist earlier this year.... not by choice but its something that, upon hearing such inspiring tefilot ka zot.... I often wish I could undo.

I have a profound respect for Judaism, and those who can still believe.

alas, ani lo ma'min. I wish Am Yisrael eternal life and great happiness. :)

  • The way the Iraeli people are behaving towards the Palestinians is disgraceful. If they want to keep the (questionable) legitimacy of their country intact as far as the wider world is concerned they would do well to stop treating the arab populations who's land they are occupying in a similar manner to the way the Jews were treated under the Nazi's. Its like history is repeating itself. Just because the Jews were persectued doesn't therefore to give them the right to persectute others.

  • @commiepinko6 It is the land given to the Jews (and all Israel) by the Maker of the heavens and the earth. They have every right to defend what was given to them by Him.

  • wait a minute... the arab salem doesn't mean PEACE. it means cease fire.

look how islam look today. they are in 400 years delay.

  • Beautiful rendition of this heartwarming prayer - Avinu Malkinu

  • and He will remove the veil upon their eyes in a short while, for the bones have come together and flesh and skin has covered them, awaiting the Spirit to come over them. G-d has never rejected Israel, but set them aside for a time so that more could join. • @ skyggebjorn, this addition is evidence of the blindness that was put upon the Jewish people so that they should not see the truth. This was given by G-d because the truth first had to go out into the rest of the world so that G-d would not only be the G-d of Yisrael but of all the people of the earth. Now, at the end, the truth has been proclaimed in every country and among every nation of the earth and G-d has remembered His first born Israel, He has brought them back from the diaspora

  • This song went into my favorites.

  • As-Saallamu-Alaikum

  • May for the love of God we respect each others... Christian or Muslim or Jew ... or even people who do not believe...

We should pray for God forgive us... for our sins.... of single days as Human whatever which belief we have.......

    God bless U.... all

    Kimia, Shalom,Salaam = Peace

By the way... I am christian...

  • A very beautiful song that touches my soul. May there be peace amongst all religions!!!!

    Peace!!!!

  • The God of Israel is not the same God as the pagan god of Islam!!!

  • @MrTRex777 in all Semitic languages.

    Elah (Hebrew)

    Alaha (Aramic)

    Allah (Arabic)

    Aloho(Syriac)

and we sometimes (Arab) say Elah

  • @MrTRex777

How do you know? You don't. The FACT is that no one knows, because no-one CAN know. It is true that the G-d of Israel is not DEPICTED or spoken of the same way as the G-d of Islam - but YOU, mere human that you are have no way of knowing that behind the words it is not the same G-d.

FACT: - G-d told Israel that the G-d of Avraham, Yitzhak and Ya'akov is the G-d of Israel - but you know not what He told the People of Ishmael, and until you do, truly do know and can prove it...

  • ...you have no right to smear G-d's Name by mocking HUMANS that He created, or their faith.

  • @MrTRex777

My friend, you are absolutely CORRECT! In my yrs of debating & discussing Islam, I have found muslims admit their "allah" has NO image & no true name xcept that of "allah".

YHWH-Elohim created us in His own IMAGE & LIKENESS as PROVED in Gen 1:26-27 & Gen 9:6

Any diety that is devoid of an image is most likely fake & consideration must be entertained that allah is a finite created figment of mans imagination;suggestably as Brahmi sanskrit from India 500 BC

  • God bless Israel and the House of Judah, Peace.

  • this song is very beautiful!

  • כול הכבוד

    עם ישראל חי

    שלום

  • Oh stop this madness, you should all be ashamed of yourselves, try and live in peace.

  • The images have nothing to do with the prayer, very strange choice if you ask me. Babs has a beautiful voice and the prayer is deep and emotional but please change the images as they are insulting to Judaism.

  • i agree. the idea behind the images is a kind one, but Muslims and Jews certainly do not worship the same God. Jews reject Jesus as Messiah, and still wait for Him to come. Avinu Malkeinu is a profoundly Jewish prayer, and Jewish images would be more appropriate.

  • Skye and Graceinmay,

If you read the Info and what I have said earlier about this video, it's pointing to the idea that for better and for worse Jews, Muslims and Xians all claim to be Avrahamic faiths, and as such we all call G-d Our Father. Furthermore, this video is a comment on the conflict in the Middle East, between Jews and Muslims, Muslims and Xians and Xians and Jews - and as such we all NEED to listen to the words of this PRAYER:

  • "We have sinned before Thee

Have compassion upon us and upon our children

Help us bring an end to pestilence, war, and famine

Cause all hate and oppression to vanish from the earth

Inscribe us for blessing in the Book Of Life

Let the new year be a good year for us"

  • And certainly say it with kavannah and honesty - in that regard we all need to do teshuvah

It's insulting to no faith - regardless of what I as a religious Jew think and feel about the faiths of Muslims and Xians, I acknowledge that in the treatment of "The Other" I have failed and am committing to make a change. After all that is what Yom Kippur and Teshuvah is all about.

  • Regardless of whether The Other is observant of the Law of Torah, I am, as a Jew, obligated to observe the Torah that says that the Law is one and the same for the Jew and for the Stranger, and in that regard Vayikra 19:18 is The Law and all the rest is Commentary, as Rabbi Hillel taught.

  • Hear, hear!

  • Happy holy_days to people of all religions watching this. God be with us all. God, save the Earth from cruelty... Happy holidays, my friends!

  • Slovám síce nerozumiem ale ten krásny hlas a nádherná hudba ma dostali. Pripadá mi to ako hudba z neba.

  • je to dulezita zidovska motlitba jestli nerozumis anglickemu prekladu pomuzu:

    strucne prelozeno

  • Vďaka prinzeugen za preklad, vážim si toho. Tak predsa len je tá hudba z neba...

  • You are good person... :)

  • There is no other prayer like this one, that can unite hearts in looking up to the heavens and beg for G-d's mercy and blessings. Thank you for posting it.

  • Jesus would have been horrified to see this. He was born a Jew, lived as a Jew. He cried over Jerusalem.

He is a finger pointing to our Father in heaven. When Christians and Jews are persecuted by Muslims, most obviously they do not serve the same G-d.

  • @benmica: Actually - it is the Xians who do not serve the same G-d as the Jews and the Muslims - if we want to get testy about things - since Xians technically worship a dead human blasphemer, heretic and apostate as G-d - but since this video is about reconciliation and about acknowledging one's humanity in relation to G-d, let's not use the comments section for prejudiced and flaming statements. User benmica has been blocked, as have others, who made similar statements.

  • Comment removed

  • i'm with you on this one! definitely not servants to the same G-d! i like the song. i wonder who sings it. i'd like to buy the album... but in regards to the video, i think it's sacrilegious to think of muslims in the same category as jews and christians...

  • it is sang by barbara streisand

  • And Muslims are being persecuted by Christians and Jews, and Christians are being persecuted by Jews and Muslims - it all depends on from which point of view you are looking, where, when and why. The majority of Jews, Christians and Muslims don't think there is justification in their faith for this persecution, but the ones who do the persecution disagree.

Each of the religions acknowledge the God of Abraham - how ever they write his name - as their God, therefore they have the same God.

  • when in the history of the world did jews persecute christians????!!!

  • About the time of the formation of the Xian Church - a blessing was added: "Let there be no hope for slanderers, and let all wickedness perish in an instant. May all your enemies quickly be cut down, and may you soon in our day uproot, crush, cast down and humble the dominion of arrogance. Blessed are you, O Lord, who smashes enemies and humbles the arrogant." to weed out those Xians who wanted to spy on the Jews.

  • Added to the Amidah Prayer, that is. While it doesn't constitute persecution, it was aimed at the Xians.

  • Comment removed

  • @skyggebjorn why did the christians want to spy on the jews?the early christians were jews!

  • @gingerfrangipane

Yes, but... they used their 'jewish' connection to turn the Jews over to the authorities (in the 1st and 2nd centuries).

  • @skyggebjorn thanks for explaining

  • @anyothernickistaken When Jesus came.

  • it wasnt the jews it was the romans.

besides, jesus wasnt christian. christianity only emerged after jesus's death.

  • @anyothernickistaken Amein! Yeshua is a Jew.

  • @Ketutar very wise thought but! humans with many variations of experiences and depth of emotional thoughts makes man not the best to be merciful to others not unlike themselves

  • This song makes me feel hope... Thanks a lot for post it.

  • "And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." Isaiah 2:4

  • May God bless every single human being, every animal , every plants and mirerals, and every star of life in the world :)

  • Is there a more beautiful prayer anywhere on this earth? this is what it says.

    Our Father ,Our King

    Hear our Prayer

    We have sinned before Thee

Have compassion upon us and upon our children

help bring an end to pestilence, WAR and FAMINE

Cause all hate and oppression to vanish from the earth

Inscribe us for a blessing in the Book of Life

Let the New Year be a good year for us,

and may we live in peace.

  • @mammamia4434 Thank you !

  • Happy new year, 5770°, from Italy. May God bless all israelian people.

  • toda raba ;) chag sameach sukkot

  • kBarbra, well there's only ONE and she is fabulous.

Her rendition of Avinu Malkeinu is magnificent. However, the images of Christian and Mulims do not belong here as AVINU MALKEINU is strictrly Jewish !

    Reizl

  • I totally agree...seemed rather odd!

  • Comment removed

  • Well, since Jews, Xians and Muslims are called the "Children of Avraham", and we all call G-d our Father, I feel that they can actually be seen together - in the name of reconciliation and of peace - it's one things to disagree on the matter of theology. We should still be able to agree on our shared humanity before G-d.

  • I'm not jewish, but I love the Jewish culture and of course Jewish music, not like what Wagner said about Jewish Musicians, I believe they have wildly creative minds!! I like Felix Mendelssohn the best!

  • sammie43, so, you start the morning listening to this inspirational song

  • Every other day or so. I love thinking about the days when I was a little boy and my parents taking me to shul. I miss them so much. This song acts as a bond between them and me. That's why I cry every time I hear it.

  • That was meant for the spineless paraxeno.

  • Bickering aside, this video is absolutely beautiful. Hearing Streisand sing Avinu Malkeinu never fails to move me to tears, and the video you've created complements it beautifully.

  • You wish you could. Bigger people than you have tried, and we're still standing. The failure must leave a more bitter taste in your mouth than the anti-semitism does in mine.

I hope your son grows into a man, unlike his father.

  • Hey, tough guy. Let's see how big your balls are. Reply back to me with your address. Let's discuss your problem face to face.

  • There's no such thing in this world as jewish terrorist.

  • beutiful song!

  • so beautiful.

  • This God is only for the jews, we gentiles have a very poor relationship with this jewish God.

  • Speak for yourself! This Gentile loves the Jewish God YHWH! He is Life, my Father, my King, my creator, my eternal salvation and abode. To Him belongs all Honor and Majesty and Glory! I am not worthy of His great love, but He is kind and gracious and loves me anyway! Praise Yah!

  • The most amazing, majestic Jewish piece I know. I look forward to it every year during the High Holidays.

Nothing makes me feel closer to HaShem than this piece.

  • very good ++++

  • At 1:47 is where I start to lose it.

  • Guys, this is MY video - if you can't stop the religious bickering, you have completely missed the point of this video and should be ashamed of yourselves.

  • I heard this wonderful Song first time 7 Years ago with a very good friend and i cried like a little boy.

My friend died 2 Years ago.

And now, i hear this song the first time for these 2 years.

And i have tears in my eyes.

    Shalom to Israel!

  • So the memory of your friend has been for a blessing - I am sorry about your friend, but glad that you shared.

  • I am 57 years old. I've been going to services for the past 50 or so years. I've heard Avinu Malkeinu hundreds of times. Listening to Barbra's rendition made me cry like a child. When the choir sang I was shaking and sobbing. It reminded me of my parents, who are both deceased. I have NEVER been effected like that ever before in my life. The most beautiful version to the most beautiful prayer in Judaism. Thank you so much for sharing

  • I am glad that you were blessed by this. (((hug)))

    Shalom Shabbat, friend

  • You are completly wrong. This is a very moving rendition of a very important Jewish blessing. If you don't like it, your problem. Judiasm was here on earth before Jesus was even thought of.

  • Well the description says "An array of images representing Jewish, Muslim and Christian Prayer, Pointing to the idea that G-d is One and The Same for all of us..." So its far more ecumnenical in its purport than you think. Also Christians believe Jesus said "I Am" so therefore they believe he was around before this blessing was created

"If you don't like it, your problem." you won't last long on you tube if you get sniffy with everyone who disagrees with you!

  • yhvh is not allah, our God is powerful and strong he will show that YHVH is god and there is none but him.

  • So, you are a Henotheist, then?

  • Compliments! Good song!

  • Thanks!

  • with all due respect, I think a few pictures are really inappropriate for the song's context

  • Why would you say that?

    What images?

  • a few pictures contrasting Judaism

    sorry to tell you

  • As I say in the description:

"An array of images representing Jewish, Muslim and Christian Prayer, Pointing to the idea that G-d is One and The Same for all of us..." Our Father, Our King...

    "Our Father Our King

    Hear our prayer

    We have sinned before Thee

Have compassion upon us and upon our children

Help us bring an end to pestilence, war, and famine

Cause all hate and oppression to vanish from the earth

Inscribe us for blessing in the Book Of Life

Let the new year be a good year for us"

  • The images are not contrasting Judaism, they rather affirm what Judaism is about.

The video was made as a comment to the war between Israel and Palestine, thus telling us that we have all sinned, we are all as guilty as the other and we all need forgiveness for what we have allowed our nations to do to our Peoples.

G-d is ONE, for us all. He is our Father. This video affirms that.

  • oh sorry, didn't see it

  • Ok, I am glad you see it now :-)

    Shalom!
