When working in Chicago for CSX we had lots of military trains coming through. Even saw some heading west with captured Russian made tanks going for testing out west.
Probably going to or from the Calif Desert for training. NM is o n the way between Calif and the Southeast, probably Texas, Lousiana, Alabama. Or else it is coming from, or going to one of the large repair facilities in the Southeast for major maintenance. Probably not going to fight, train is too small and the wrong mix of stuff.
