Dwight, I drove from Nashville to see you and Buck. I just missed you. However, did get to talk with Buck. He gave me a Buck You University T-shirt and signed it. I'll cherish that.
Also another little tidbit of info for everybody, The Beatles used to request every single by Buck owens before it went to radio, Paul & Lennon were huge fans.
Just goes to show that people shouldn't be close minded when judging country music.
Now if we can convince the record companies and radio stations that country music history IS important to the fans we wouldn't be stuck listening to Taylor Swift & Rascall Flatts!
Buck Owens once tipped me 30 bucks for vaccuming the carpet around his locker at the Seven Oaks country club in Bakersfield. He was a good man and a legend and I am blessed to have met him and have such a cool memory of him. The Crystal Palace is still bumpin though, if anyone goes I recommend the country-fried chicken and fries. HHMMM Im going to Bakersfield!
i don't listen to country radio anymore cuz they never play dwight yoakam. and i really don't care for the new artist.

Yeah life is bitter sweet. I have a lot of respect for Buck and Dwight. And for Dwight keeping the Buck candle lit so years to come do not forget.

Dwight is a professor of music history. He's right about Chris Hillman starting the whole thing through the Byrds. Fascinating piece of video.
