  • el ruso captó el alma de España

  • LMAO - the guy on the tambourine @ 0:45ish is sooo dramatic LMAO!! :D

  • I have to agree with everyone saying the brass and winds are too heavy.

The strings should be clearly audible throughout the piece.

The tempo started out well, but it began to drag awfully in the 4th movement.

    Overall, it's a good performance.

A bit of tweaking and it can be even better. c:

  • ... i feel like this is an edited version.

notice the incredible change in audio at the start...

  • Indeed it is. The audio feed is from the mikes in front. This feed had to be synched with the video.

the very beginning audio is from the video camera. Also I had to cut out a 3 minute portion in order to stay under the 10-minute limit that YouTube imposes.

  • De las mejores orquestas no profesionales que he visto, no obstante, le falta un poco de brio.

  • helllo!!! everybody from MEXICO!

i will play this piece 2 morrrow! with the orchestra form i´m a member!

    congrats!

  • i played this with my school orchestra..i love the piece :)

  • What's with the massive cut?

The tempo in the forth movement really slows down with the flute. The conductor definitely did not help at all, he basically just let them drag.

  • The solo clarinetist high notes are very shrill

  • I played this song with just strings..sounds better, can't hear the strings very mcuch.

  • when a professional orchestra does it though, the winds really add to it.

  • I would have to agree, that the winds and brass are too heavy, making it difficult to hear the strings. But overall, very well done!

  • yuki-kun, happy birthday!

    Tomorrow is your birthday, right?

  • pretty good violin solo...we're playing this in orchestra now and solo auditions are coming up...I really want the violin solo since I'm concert mistress this year :)

  • yuki koyama is the best !!!!!

  • I think it was okay, but the balance between the volumes of the sections was quite horrible. You could barely hear the 1st violins, which is the melody. Other than that, I think it was excellent.

  • agreed

  • its so slow ? when i've played it, we took it much faster.

  • The solo cellist was really excellent. I think that's my favourite part of the song.

Impressive piece - I really like it. Some of the percussion parts were really interesting. The harps were also a nice touch.

The last minute-and-a-half of the video was really excellent - must be killer on those arms after eight straight minutes of music, though.

  • i don't agree.. the cellist.. his posture.. cringe

  • strings sound good but the dynamics of the orchestra overall is a little ehhhh

  • Más que capricho español debería llamarse capricho ASTURIANO. De los cinco movimientos de que consta, cuatro están inspirados en el folklore de Asturias

  • thanks

  • can someone tell me how to get this sheet music?!?!!?

  • You can usually purchase it on most sheet music stores online such as jwpepper (which I usually purchase from). They'll usually have the score for full orchestra as well as the option to buy separate parts.

  • I love it!

  • you gotta love the harp solo.....

  • too slow at the beginning!!

  • this is good. excellent even. the concertmistress looks like me bt she isnt me so yea...lol bt its good even tho my orchestra plays it better. :P

  • i think I recognize one of the clarinet players? Nice job though.

  • Great Job!

  • This is really good slower tempo id probably best for strings. Especially the last movement. Though you guys didnt play Variazoni

  • could be faster, but still...very nice

  • I love the clarinet solo!

  • Great music and a great little orchestra. This piece brought back some good memories of when my high school orchestra played it almost 15 years ago. Awesome!

  • this is awesome

my youth orchestra just started playing this and hopefully it'll sound somewhat close but i dont think we'll be able to get it to your tempo...

  • The cello soloist sounds nice but he also has bad posture.. maybe lift the end pin higher, push out, and look up instead of down?

  • Tempo..... Rofl? Nice Solos, didnt expect that.

  • The Videographer had no clue who was playing the Clarinet solos!!! The 2nd Clarinetist was the one who was featured (just playing backup notes) when it was really the principal Clarinetist who was playing. I've taught the Clarinets in this Orchestra for many years.

  • Very good i agree the conductor was holding them back but our conductor did that if we had the tendency to rush. Ummm the horns are out of tune! sorry i have a good ear. woodwinds great!!! strings great!!

  • We are amazingness! But the hilarious special clari part was cut out... :(

  • damn, that sounds good.

  • this hardly sounds spanish because of the tempo... but of course the effort is praiseworthy

  • thats me sis second cello!

  • why two harps?

  • Great symphony but this symphony can handle a higher paced beat. what the heck they sound so good and yet the conductor holds them back so much

  • I have to disagree with you, I like this tempo.

  • Rofl now I take it back.

  • haha.... they zoom in on the second clarinet when there's a clarinet solo... the principal clarinet must be mad....

  • Too slow - too many wrong notes? C´mon guys - this is a youth orchestra and every high school could be proud of having an orchestra like this. So I liked it and wish them all the best!

  • very good, but it is way to slow

  • awesome cello solo!

  • ahh! this needs to be faster! haha well, nice job! my youth orchestra played this song last year, and i love it.

  • yah, everyones right. this needs to be faster.

  • good video...the tempos could go faster and the strings are being drowned out but i like the sound

  • Woot go mr. emata....i can see u back there in the percussion section

  • I think all of these could've been played at a faster tempo.

  • clarinet soloist sounds real nice

  • Eh, it was alright, but the trills dragged just a tiny bit.

  • in the first movement or the fifth?

because if it's the first then i think you're right

  • First one.

I dunno if it was just the stage or the recording, but the clarinet and flute didn't mix well together in the fifth movement. Nonetheless, it's a very hard piece to play well and I applaud the orchestra for it's great effort.
