This paint scheme for the Ghouls is awesome, I wasn't sure at first but now I've finished and based them they look awesome on the table. Also is a great paint scheme to do because most VC players at our hobby shop just paint them Knarloc Green and they all look the same. The washes make them all look different and no two models look the same. Can wait to unveil them at my next game :D Thanks Again for a great painting tutorial. LIKE LIKE LIKE xD
@DevilsPr0d1gy Excellent! I'm glad the tutorial could be of help! I really really like this bloody gory style, the pale green ghouls never really did it for me, and I remember seeing one of the example eavy metal pictures showing something like this and thinking of movies like The Descent where the creatures are naturally really pale but just covered in gore and bruised and bloody. I hope your ghouls make a big splash at their unveiling! Let me know what everyone else thinks!
really nice tutorials, but i wonder is there anyway you could do a tutorial on Dire wolves taht would be lovely, cant really figure out how to paint them and cant seem to find any good tutorial for it either.
I used your zombie guide and looks good n I tried to use this one but it stuffed up it was to light so I highlighted the limbs n face with rotting flesh GW
Secondly, a question, does it really matter if I base coat with white spray, or does it work pretty much equally well if I just base with deneb stone from scratch?
I've just picked up warhammer again, after finding my old models at my family house, and as a student I would love to cut on the spendings..
@BluePit864 Thank you! My mission is to show people what I (as a regular Joe Shmoe) can do and to inspire others who might be thinking of collecting or painting similar models. Your compliment means a lot to me!
Wow! Thy look awesome. For a long time now I have been thinking that the GW Ghouls are just ugly looking (not in a good way). But your color scheme really brings new life (unlife) in to the models and I will not look at the models the same way anymore. Thank you!
@TheMadwizz thank you! I don't know when it happened, but at some point over the last year, I set myself the goal of every so often, taking models I hated and painting them as best I could, maybe in an alternate color scheme, so that I wouldn't hate them so much. These guys were pretty much at the top of the list haha. Thanks again for the compliment!
@WarbossTae Loved the tutorial and it almost made me want to paint a unit of ghoulish creatures or at least something where I could use the color scheme, but got enough to paint with my Cygnar. Do you paint any Warmachine? Nice tutorial on getting a lot out of washes. Would love to see it applied on other units for inspiration.
@Zargarox thanks! I have some machine Mercenaries (love those pirates) and would love to continue painting those up. Cygnar stuff looks interesting, too!
@1madhammer with the intro, the videos take so long to render, I'm seeing if I can make a shorter intro in lower quality. Im not really familiar with the LoTR stuff, what would be a good model to pick up and paint?
@KainTLA Thank you! My to-do list is so packed, I just gave up adding to it and randomly pick up and paint whatever I see on my desk that catches my eye lol
Looking good , will give this how to paint a try next weekend =) , was wondering what wash is a bit better for humm darkgrey / green like then baal red? (dont wanne have my 2x 40 ghouls all the same look :P )
@Handegekke I would say, for dark grey, do a Thraka Green, and while that's still wet, Baal Red? Try it out, and let me know how it goes. I did the same for some zombies a while back and they came out Dark Grey =D
@saggyrectum Thanks! I've had some free time here and there to finish these guys up. Took a little longer than I planned. Hopefully I can finish everything else I have planned before Spookytoberfest is over!
@WarbossTae I am buying some Dire Wolves, a Necromancer ( with the staff and skull ), dheneb stone, enchanted blue and Asurmen blue. Looking foward to paining them :). I might do a Showcase or maybe a tutorial for Dire wolves and the nercomancer. But I agree the Terroghiest / Dragon looks too good. definetly going to buy it.
@NurglesNastiest How he's 'doing' the Nurgle Lord o_0 ? OMG you're pervy! =P Nah, I can't wait for him to paint the Lord either. But my personal favourite will the the Pain Engine...
YOU....SAID....TUBIES?!!! WHAT BLASPHEMY IS THIS?!
:: Great tutorial btw! :DD

@WarbossTae Try something simple, like a box set of Warriors of Minas Tirith or Uruk-hai - those models are fairly easy to paint
