I still love this video as you've touched on so many of my pet peeves: short sleeved shirts with ties, sill Hawaiian shirts, sandals with socks and pleated pants (WITH CUFFS) do nobody any favors. How about Polo shirts with the collar turned up? Hello, 1984 is calling and wants it's shirt back! And how about those damned Sperry Topsider boat shoes? Why are guys still wearing those??!!
Without seeing it, I would suggest going and talking to a stylist. Probably a simple fix with growing it out in places and using some good product to shape into place

I don't know about that. Everything was great advice except for the short-sleeve-dress-shirt-with-tie thing. That look is kinda Michael Douglass in "Falling Down", and can be pulled off by a slim guy, or a rotund dude (nowhere in between). It's a real high fashion statement-kind-of look. Not just anybody can get away with it, but rock it with flat front, tapered pants--a bit too short, logo-less sneakers and sockless, and it could work nicely. Fashion conscious geek look accomplished!
I'll be honest this video is a lot more insightful and rest assured I don't make these mistakes, I just wanted to see if we're on the right page. You forgot to mention Crocs, those things are long done, nice video tho, I voted 5 stars.

I wouldn't recommend "modern, up to date shoes". Most of them look horrible. Go for traditional looks, both in sneakers and dress shoes.

I still love this video as you've touched on so many of my pet peeves: short sleeved shirts with ties, sill Hawaiian shirts, sandals with socks and pleated pants (WITH CUFFS) do nobody any favors. I don't know about that. Everything was great advice except for the short-sleeve-dress-shirt-with-tie thing. That look is kinda Michael Douglass in "Falling Down", and can be pulled off by a slim guy, or a rotund dude (nowhere in between). It's a real high fashion statement-kind-of look. Not just anybody can get away with it, but rock it with flat front, tapered pants--a bit too short, logo-less sneakers and sockless, and it could work nicely. Fashion conscious geek look accomplished!

Besides the pleated pants, I agree with you. flat fronts convey a casual and therfore not appropriate for a suit. to wear casualy their fine otherwise I would recomend aginst them. I think that short sleeve shirts are casual and there fore contradic themself's when the work dress is thrown in front. I hope other men see this video and corect themself's. Except for the pleated pants.
