@Bibazavr It wasn't a "copy" it was designed to engage to MIG-25 which nothing was known about until after a pilot defected to Japan. The Foxbat can't dogfight if it got in a turning fight with an Eagle, it would be demolished.

Just a word about the whole F-15 vs. F-22 thing. In mock engagements, It's almost always an entire squadron of Eagles against a single Raptor. Raptor wins every time. That being said as awesome as the Raptor is,we really don't need them(yet). The F-15 is more than capable of killing any other plane in the world. I don't care how good Russia thinks it's planes are.

If it went up against a real MIG-25, with Russian avionics, some real maintenance and crew training perhaps the fight would be different. I will admit that the F-15 is the better plane, at medium and close range, by far the better plane. But pit it against SU-27 and it's trashed.

You realize the SU27 has upgrades too, right? Basically a SU-27SM has better avionics, longer range missiles, more reliable missiles, equal countermeasures, equal/slightly stronger maneuverability, better engines and better RCS than the F-15C eagle. This puts it at something of an... advantage, in face a huge advantage, it can shoot it's target down before the enemy sees it and still effectively wage combat in mid/close range, with still better missiles and a bigger gun.

Actually, thats what I meant, by mistake I wrote C instead of E, C is a ground attack variant I couldn't have intentionally said that. Thing is we already have dozens of these in the air and by 2015 all Russian Su-27 will be upgraded to SM standard, you have yet to launch a single F-15SE. And then we have Su-30, Su-33, Su-35 and Su-35BM, which are all practically superior to your F-15. In the 1990s the F15 was the best 4th gen fighter plane around, but it's best days are long gone.

That is hardly possible. The F-22 Raptor is only used by the US Air Force. The F-15 Eagle is used by USA, Israel, Japan and Saudi Arabia. Over half of the F-15's kills were made by Israeli Air Force pilots.
