Ok when you said not to drop your hips, dont you have to when you do the penultimate step for a two foot jump? The last step is suposed to be the longest in distance right? so that you can lower your center of gravity?
I bearly started watching your videos you ppinted out some of my obvious mistakes I am really trying to do the best I can I am 5'11 I can bearly tap glass on the court. If I dedicate myself to squats and these vertical workouts religiously how fast do you think I will be able to dunk?
Thank you so much this stuff is amazing. I'm glad I can say this program works and it's not a sham like so many others I have tried thanks again so so much
I'm a baller from France and I want to thank you for giving tips that I never thought about before watching your vid, and it helps a lot. Dunking is a dream for me since a long time and I'm throwin it down now. I keep working on my approach and really seeing a huge difference.
hey adam your the best! your videos are great and really help, and i was wondering what you would really reccomend to improve my vertical i'm looking at your videos and they help man but im trying to get to 10 feet at 9 and a half now im 15 and can grab 9 and a half im 5'8 thanks and your beast at bball by the way
thanks alot man! i increased my vert from touching the rim to really grab it in actually two days since watching your vids the first time and doin some of your drills. can't tell you how much i like it ((:
thanks alot im 6 feet i use to only be able to grabe the rim off two feet now i can dunk with two hands off to feet and i jump higher off of one foot i doubted that it would work but i guess i was wrong thnks
Hi Adam, I wanted to know what exactly you mean by not lower your hips when you dunk, but you will go lower when you take the long left stride before your last right step and dunk.
i'm 14 and i know some other 14 year olds can dunk but should i be trying to do it, by that i mean the exercise and training and when should i be able to dunk it. 5"10'-11' 70kg probably 1 of the strongest/upper and lower body thanks for the help! :)
Could you please make a video where you not only show us the technique of jumping but also the technique of dunking a basketball (like where to hold the ball when running up, jumping off etc...)
nice video....im goin to upload a few videos and i would appreciate it if you would ya know kinda point out what im doing wrong and vie me a couple tips to further improve my vert. Im a senior in high school and im 5' 7 1/2" and im a pretty athletic person....my 40 yard dash is a 4.45.....and the last time i checked my vertical was around november of 09 and it was 27 inches......now i can grab the rim with two hands easily but im just not able to dunk...like i said im accepting all tips yu have
hey adam two more questions I got for you ( sorry if I'm bugging you) but do you know any good ab/core workouts that I can do at home? because I know that has a big impact on dunking as well and right now I don't really have that great of abs. btw I've noticed that I can get rim off one legg as well as two but on my third step its suppose to be elongated right?
hey adam I wanna start by first saying thank you so much, and what I've noticed when I've been trying dunk is two things is I'm not explosive enough and one main is I tend to lean forward but unintentionally, am I suppose to tighten my core when I'm accelerating towards the rim so I can stay straight? also I work on both one legged approach and two legged approach like you said in the other videos p.s I can't dunk yet but so right now I'm just working on my approach.
Thanx so much Adam! I'm 5 8 and can touch rim! How long do u think it'll be b4 I can hang on the rim with two hands? U think these techniques will give me just what I need? Please respond asap!!! Thanx again!
Adam thank you for this video..it is really helpfull...but I need to know how to improve vertical jump from core exercises? Can you tell me what core exercises to do ?And 1 more question..when i try to dunk ..my hand is over the rim about 3 inches and...because i cant palm the ball..can't dunk...please tell me how can i dunk with out palming the ball...
Hey Adam, I've got a couple questions. You talk about how you use a left right plant for your 2 leg approach and how your left leg stabilizes and controls the mcv, but how's this work for the 1 leg approach? Does the foot you jump off of stabilize itself? Also, since you say that 90% of your vertical is your approach, does that mean I should work more on my running mechanics as well? I know running mechanics will make me a better athlete anyway, but I wanna know if it will help my vertical a lot
@daballa100 Great Questions! Your 1 leg jump is stabilized using a "Penultimate" Step. Which is lengthened 3rd stride leading to a shortened last two strides. By staying talk and accelerating through your approach your penultimate happens fairly naturally... but can be perfected and sped up for ultimate improvement and speed.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing about jumping higher is your ARMS....If you check some of my training videos u can see what i mean...and as far as the takeoff just imagine yourself stomping a hole thru the floor.....
Thank you!!! From barely touching the rim to tapping it, just applying some of your principles and techniques. 5'8, 35 years old. The dream is still alive.
loved this!.. i dont know if i stay too tall when i run up, so i'll deff try that for next time, other then that i dont think im too too bad with my techniques, and ill try to accelerate more, thanks for the tips! if u can think u could watch one of my vids real quick and see if u can point anything obvious out? feel kinda lame asking, but idk, up to you! thanks again
