  • Tutsi have lighter skins and smaller noses while Hutu have dark skin and bigger noses

  • i always went 'wtf' when the guy with the drill came out

  • 0:02 leon the professional!!!!!

  • Sometimes this movie goes a little overboard with the melodrama. We KNOW what's going on is horrible. We don't need the actors hammering it in.

  • When a people are disarmed all it takes is a simple drill or machete.

  • Thank you for uploading this movie

  • i would have never thought that a man wearing a purple wig would be scary

  • how can they distinguish whos the "coachroach" and who isnt?

  • @Ametheyes If you put an African in Europe they probably won't see if your a German, a slav, a jew, or someone from Souther Europe. However we are able to see this differences. To us all Africans may look the same, but they can distinguish tribes from each other. Some may be genarally shorter, less dark skinned, have bigger noses, etc and that is how they can see that.

  • Even under the mandate that the UN peacekeepers were not to engage the interhamwe, not to fire unless fired upon.....I don't see why it became known that the hutu extremists had kidnapped and executed their men why they didn't use that as a premise to change the mandate? That to me is what I never understood.

  • @falalalalalification me too i don,t understand why they did,nt fire unless the hotel might been attacked but it is hard to understand how blacks can be so evil to eachother i mean whites kill sometimes but not like that, german and japanese soldiers did but not the public.

  • @september7891 That is true. Europeans or Japanese for example didn't do this in the open. They tried to conceal their murders as good as they could and deny them. In Africa they are more open about it. I don't know what is worse. Trying to hide your crimes in concentration camps or just randomly killing on the street.

  • @dekippiesip but in europe is was german soldiers killing the jews or the americans killed the indians but 10 year old boys were doing this, look in south africa the whites are being killed now, after the world told them vote for equallity theres nothing to be afraid of,there was a lot to be afraid of the anc are a terrorists winny mandella a murderer who puts burning tyres around peoples knecks gadaffi murders his own people they stop him mugabe does they say nothing, the world is fucked i think.

  • I'm ashamed to admit it but the truth is that when I saw the news of the Rwandan genocide on the news back in '94 I said, "oh my God, that's horrible"... and then I went on eating my dinner,

  • @Marc3c Yeah it's sad but it's true that it's what happens, people will think OMG that is horrible but unless it has something to do with their own lives most will just go about their day... I didn't even know about this event until about 3 years ago (I wasn't born yet when this began and was only a month or so old when it ended.) when I took AP human geography, my teacher showed us this movie... it is truly terrible... I don't see how people could be like that, not for the reason they were!

  • kan je regarde ce film j'ai des larmes o yeux sa me donne l'envie de kité cette terre car vue comme on traitent ces Rwandais je croix ke la vie n'est rien

  • It sickens me to know that my nation did not send more "Peacekeepers" and it disgraces me that the rest of the U.N didn't try to stop these massacres.. Yet I always here how my country, Canada is one of the greatest nations when it came to "Peacekeeping" yet this movie just shows how fucking despicable we are, but much respect General Dalliare (AKA the Canadian Colonel who is based off him) He stopped following his orders and stayed in Rwanda with less than 300 men and saved over 10,000 tutsi's.

  • @Furyzglory The Pakistani UN were there and did something or tried to while the west UN went..They shitted themslves plain and simple, hence why anti-white crime is on the rise in Africa and world..

  • 4:51 : Oh no!!! My Teddy bear!! You filthy animal!! :(

  • @imUNDEADwithBOTDF money is of no use to u if u r dead and pieces of paper and metal arent worth any human life but i do understand ur point

  • nd he as on a purple wigg y?

  • @reneealexis1203 The Interhamwe treated the massacres like a celebration, hence the bright clothing and the wig. It was, in their minds, a joyous occasion because Rwanda was being cleaned of the cockroaches and it would return to being a Hutu land.

  • @mikeohoh7 Yes they are! We're all brothers.

  • @mikeohoh7 who cares wht color anybody is when th world stands by and lets these atrocities happen when lose our humanity

  • @mikeohoh7 maybe so but its not right to let people commit genocide and nt step in just think what would have happened if we stood by for hitler

  • Why Can't the UN ever do their job. The same thing happened in Bosnia.

  • @Maria29493 because th lame ass us and europe only "help" if there's something in it for them

  • 7:55

My uncle was in Rwanda in '94, part of the french deployement composed of Foreign Legion, Special Forces and french Marines...they wanted to take civilians with them, but they were ordered by the UN just to take europeans and americans...his unit succed in hiding a group of 8 children in their armored vehicle and give them to the Red Cross in the safety zone

  • @ghilliedu25 Thats so sad! Your uncle must've been so brave to be able to face such a distressing situation.

  • @ghilliedu25 well bless them for helping them it is just unfortunate they couldnt take them all

  • Did the Hutus kill one of the UN soldiers? :o

  • @BamItsAbbie1997 No. They took his helmet and splashed it with ketchup.

  • They'd already started killing children.

    They made me watch.

There was one girl... she had her little sister wrapped on her back.

As they were about to chop her, she cried out to me...

"Please don't let them kill me, I promise I won't be Tutsi anymore."

  • @Lolznator is tht from the movie

  • @Lolznator So Sad..... Those Million People Are In A Better Place Now......

  • Comment removed

  • the UN sucks

  • @Mateo5667 i know right? -_- like, in most of the scenes i saw them in action in this movie, there carrying freakin 9mm pistols against rebels with Ak's... the UN is gonna kick some A** :D

  • jesus christ

  • everytime i watch this movie, any clip, ANY clip I cried. This is what happening in our world and is still happening, just the scale is different and we are lucky enough not to born or live in those countries. 800,000 people in 100 days, that mean 8000 people were being kill everyday. Once imagine that it just heart breaking. Yet nothing we can do except trying to spread the non-racist ideas which most people wouldn't accept in fact - perhaps Earth is such a place that make some suffer for us

  • The U.N is worthless, not just in Rwanda, but throughout it's history

  • What was the rebel holding a drill? 4:47

  • @TheArmo818 They used anything to kill

  • @Seirienify Damn

  • You see how the UN poses as the savior of these people and then does nothing to help them even when they have armed soldiers there and the people are being slaughtered. The UN nowdays is starting new wars in the Middle East and dumping DU radioactive munitions accross these lands. The UN is a criminal organization and Americans should realize that we do not want them in our country. I also hate the portrayal of helpless disarmed people. The UN should have armed the victims.

  • The scary thing is: the real life version of this was FAR more horrible and brutal than this movie could possibly depict. Wasn't it even PG-13?

  • 6:41 This still haunts me.

  • the UN is such a waste of money

  • The part where the video guy puts in the clip..... That's real footage that was shown in the news... It's not acting.

  • Its actually pronounced Leftenant, not Lieutenant

  • terrible. example of why we need to stop genocide in sudan

  • the army was training and working for the miltias and arming them, they gave the interharawe everything they needed, they just preferred tools and machetes against civilians to satisfy their blood lust, fucking colonials created this problem and the pathetic UN allowed it to happen

  • @lion3p0 They did not allow it to happen. Learn your history.

  • At first I thought the Interhamwe killed the 10 belgian un soldiers but i saw Shake Hands with the Devi when I saw the real truth, the army (like the ones who almost killed his family in part 3) killed them

  • @Bonesnap1 But that appearance is the militia that murdered those tutsis. This was a rag tag militia, using everyday tools to commit mass murders. But it is good you pointed that out kinda.

  • 3:40 show the silence of the world. People would see what happened, know it was bad, but just finish eating their dinners.

  • The 90s were truely messed up. First my people in Croatia and Bosnia, and then Rwanda immediately after. Plus not to mention the crisis in Sudan and every where that is not mentioned.

  • It's a bit silly Hitler spent many years to kill 6 million Jews, while the Hutus used 100 days to kill 1 million and Hutus used machetes and guns, while Hitler used gas. You should read the Witness - Miracle in Rwanda - Our Time Anne Frank.

  • ngoma kuphansi kwalo ngalala gupendezi wapume hansi we quqonda mazi buye baba inciti waeti wazi boyenguzi bayukali

  • I do the same krakendude2, but soon I will be watching this in class not having to take notes to learn about Genocide. Like what Hitler did about the Jews.

  • My class was watching this, and though we were supposed to take notes, I was too caught up in the movie to take notes. This is one of the best films that I have ever seen in my life,

  • At around the 5 minute mark the dudes rolling up in the vehices. American troops from this era would light them up and kill everyone inside the vehicles, no question.

  • @Atralis These are not American troops, there UN troops, they get orders to not defend helpless people, and they listen to those orders, they let them get killed, because the UN has not interest in saving 800,000 africans. The UN starts a new war in Libya and kills civilians and dumps DU radioactive munitions, but no they can't defend some African peasants from a genocide.

  • dude doesnt it mean if nay peace keeper is harmed or killed they can fight back?

  • The guy with the purple afro looks like he justh as a mouth

  • So true this line . "They'll watch the news and go OMG. and then, they'll go back to their dinner.." HAIZ. =(

  • guys learn from what has happen and pass it on to your children, remember the next kid you influence could be the next powerful man in the making. It takes more energy to wage war then practice peace.....Thanx 4 uploading this dude.

  • this movie brang tears 2 my eyes thank u for puttin this on youtube the world needs 2 see this

  • "How can they not intervene when they witness such atrocities?"

"I think if people see this footage they'll say, "oh my God that's horrible," and then go on eating their dinners"

    Too true.

  • The reasoning behind the UN not being able to shoot is very questionable, but if they would shoot, it would start a war with the rebels only bringing more death to UN soldiers (the whole reason they left) and that the hotel would be targeted and killed off even after taking bribes.

  • @MagicTheGathering300 Any real soldier would have disobeyed that order. But the general was a Frenchman from Canada. He was an true idiot. If I was in that situation I would have disobeyed that order and massacred the bastard Blacks

  • @LordWellington15 Romeo Dallaire saved over 32,000 civillians. Just because he's Canadian and French, doesn't mean he's an idiot. You're an idiot for calling him and idiot.

  • @LilHeartie And uh, how many were killed again? Tell me, just because he saved 30 000 doesnt account for the fact that another half million were massacred. Stop trying to make him into some sort of a hero, because he wasn't. He ran a way while others were being murdered. He is no hero, and will never be.

  • @LordWellington15 he is a hero, Dallaire saved thousands of lives, he could have saved more but the UN would not allow him to do anything because it was a peacekeeping mission

  • @DarkZone160 Listen here buddy. You have obviously never been in the military or studied military history. If you did, you would know what a failure Dillare (aka the coward) was. Sure they call him a hero because he saved 30 000 Rwandans, but guess how many were murdered? Between 500 000 to 1 000 000! Any real soldier would have disobeyed that order, but he was not a real soldier. He was a coward and a failure.

  • @LordWellington15 to disobey orders like that is very hollywood and doesnt usaully happen. I know around 800 000 people died but to save 30 000 people is a very big deal, just to save only one person is something great.( if you are military i have high respects for you)

  • @LordWellington15 saving 30 people is a lot saving even one person is a lot. Thats incredible what have u done with ur life?

  • @undercoverngel I've been in the reserves for about 6 years, and you? Sitting on the computer saying made up words such as "u" and "ur". You just another pathetic loser who gets all his information from his teacher without even thinking that there could be a different answer.

  • @LordWellington15 Your so worthless and so are your opinions i have lives on a nobody cares News flash saving one person is a lot either agree with me or be wrong.

  • @undercoverngel First of all your sentence makes no sense whatsoever. Second, you have no research or any background on any history. The only history you get is from your Liberal history teacher. Third I dis-agree wiht you and I am RIGHT.

  • @LordWellington15 so your saying that the saving of hundreds is worth nothing. what an idiot!

  • @MARISAandIZZY Are you an expert on military tactics? What I am saying is that he was being a coward. The frog of a commander just stood by watching as Rwandans were being butchered. He did not have the brains nor the guts to disobey the UN and save many lives. We try to make him into some sort of a hero by saying he saved 30 000 lives, but we forget the fact that he let over 500 000 be butchered. No, you are the idiot.

  • @edwardlover23001 Thats your comeback? "BS"??/ You are a real loser aren't you.

  • @LordWellington15 What worthless 'peacekeepers.' Obviously they are too lily livered to actually get some real guns, load them, and start shooting the butchers and a complete lack of anything.

  • @TheNuharoo Yes, I agree. That is why Dillaire is a complete dunderhead. He did not have the guts to dis-obey the UN an actually fight back.

  • @LordWellington15 It wasn't just orders. He didn't have the manpower either; even with guns, his men would've been overrun if they used force against the killers.

  • @sonrouge Better to have tried and failed than to have not of tried at all.

  • @TheNuharoo Don't blame them; blame the dipshits who sent them over there and then ordered them not to do anything.

  • @MagicTheGathering300 Were you watching whenever the African police/soldiers dispersed the mob? All they had to do was fire their guns in the air to get them to back off; plus, the mobs were ultimately taken down by a guerrilla force. The idea that a large number of professional soldiers would've been outfought by a bunch of thugs with machetes is laughable.

All that was needed by the UN was some backbone and enough force to back it up.

  • The white man is the biggest pussy I've ever seen. It's about 100 white men white guns, and 50 black guys with machetes. Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME!!!

  • @37rrga Is that why blacks always have to fight in huge gangs here in America?

  • @TheIronEagle14 Am I talking about America right now? I'm talking about the movie.

  • at 3:25 - 3:49 the man is saying the truth dumb asses just see things and go OMG how saddd, but then do nothing and go on with their lives.. seriously we need to make changes. there's always gonna be conflicts just try handling them and not waiting and depending on others to do the job, IF YOU CAN THEN DO IT, DAMMIT!

  • sigh black people has suffered over 200years through slavery and up to this blessed god forsaken day they are still suffering from slavery the effects are mental emotional physical some are not happy with their skin colour all poison of the minds...There will never be peace in this ........The U.N helps but yet at the same time it doesn't so it becomes like a show they put on ....they videotape the tragedies to make documentaries and news headlines.....Religion should not divide

  • @sexy3nee Arab Muslims still to this very day continue to enslave Black Africans.

The genocide in Darfur Sudan is a case in point. Arab Islam has always been racist toward indigenous Africans yet people like to say white european people are bad. pffff.

  • @sexy3nee Yoru an idiot. It was not White people who created slavery, it was your fellow country men for God's sake! Slavery was born and bred in Africa!

  • @Miss95Bubbles How said it was funny

  • @Miss95Bubbles i think it was more around 900,000. This was a genocide remember.

  • great movie

but this guy should have made wooden speers

    and weapons 4 protection

then all hutus should have used them

  • Comment removed

  • Why bother having guns when you aren't even allowed to fire them????

  • @TheCrippledCrow because its for self defense

  • @TheCrippledCrow They can only fire if they get shot at first.

  • @TheCrippledCrow they shud have Shot Them! and then say the millitia shot first. God why do this pathetic white western goverment go on about Helping Humanity and being there yet they don't even protect Innocent Women Men and Children? when the soldiers are even in the Country? same old story where whites look out only for their own but only use other Nations & People. It's time Africans relied on themselves & stopped thinking whites are Superior then them.

  • @SonyaOOOlights OMG YOU STOLE THE WORDS RIGHT OUTTA MY MOUTH, YOU SPEAK THE TRUTH

  • @TheCrippledCrow Foreign forces protocol, when a country is within another country, firearms are allowed to be carried if its for self protection only. If a shot is fired (even if it misses) it could start a war (in this case, a war within a civil "massacre" which will account for even more deaths of the Rwandans)

  • wat the fuuck a drill in his hand and a purple fro? LOL THESE NIKKAS IS CRAAAAAZZZZYYYYYYY

  • about 1million people

  • whats with the purple afro at 4:56???

  • 800,000 people in 100 days, 8000 a day.

  • @imsoill32

Most of us have learned math

  • @Miss95Bubbles, not 100, its now closer to 1 million

  • by the way, whoever hates the new youtube, thumb this up

  • there aren't a lot of men like this real hero paul, are there?

  • PM Abisit Murder kill Protester

  • thailand is ruwanda

  • am watching this movie at my SSA class and is so good that i have to watch it here. But also very sad :'(

  • Guys, let it go please... This movie is an excellent example of why we need to be tolerant of each other... Why argue over something so stupid and just create more racial tension?

  • @HeyLookABird814 This movie is a example of why we need to get off our lazy asses

  • Do you think I'm stupid enough to show you a picture of myself? If your one of those white people who don't know better, ask a black person that you know. They'll tell you or show you.

  • black people dont have afro its fake

  • No it's not. I've had it before.

  • prove it
