  • i wished i was one of those dancers!:)

  • one of my top faves

  • Once again three sheets to the wind watching Dusty clips. I've got issues but who could honestly resist Dusty?

  • For those of you who missed the 60's...I can only say you missed an AMERICA you will never see the likes of again. The cars...the music... British and American! I don't live in the past, but the way things are today compared to back then and yes, even

Viet Nam ( I was in the Marines in the Mid-late 60's) even California was fun...any

beach, any time. I'm sorry some of you missed this era, if not for the experience.

  • @1947196051 Yea, I agree 47. Grew up in Southern Ca. It was my perfect teen yrs. Saw my first long haired guy at "Huntington Beach" around 1964- He was standing with a "surf board". All my kids love the oldies music and love for me to tell them about the 1960's. God, I wish I could go back for a week, but then, I wouldn't want to come back!

  • Dusty was so relaxed and natural when performing, she is the best thing to come out of the UK ever.... god I miss her, she was something else xx

  • I believe this was from Shivaree.

  • Dusty would've felt at home at Motown!! She certainly has got the pipes and the soul and the talent! You go Girl....................

  • @richmattgal I agree :-D Makes you wonder what Holland-Dozier-Holland could have written for her!

  • who disliked this???? I "keel" you...

  • Go-Go Boots!

  • Those go go girls are so fn sexy. will never be a decade like the 60's again. Dusty, The Ronettes, Shangra las. Music was so good it's ridiculous.

  • Dusty Springfield - Super talented and smoking hot in her day.

    Awesome post.

  • I'm addicted to those dancers. cant stop watching those moves, dude was the 60's weird.

  • @binky8698 lol, classic 60s moves, takes me back to a great period in time :)

  • Whoever did the equalisation on this recording wants shooting.

    Some producer.....

Dusty's sublime vocal talent is spoiled by the idiocy of the 'technical experts'.

You deserved far better treatment than this, girl!

  • thank you for posting this wonderful video

    Feb 11, 2009 was sophie's 40th birthday :)

  • Dusty Springfield was one of the all-time greatest female vocalists. She was so versatile! This song always reminds me of one of those Phil Spector girl-group records-which is a compliment...

  • Who is the fu#ker that didn`t like Dusty, ?Grrrrr....

  • Follow-up to Dusty's first solo outing "I Only Want To Be With You". But while it was a pretty big hit in the UK at the time, memory of it seems to have been all but erased in the minds of radio programmers. IOWTBWY is all you ever hear of hers now from that era.

  • I have the original 45. I loved this lady. still.

  • Dusty was the greatest female singer of her time.

  • britsh invasion, great sound from a great singer, thanks also for the clip.

  • yes stay awhile just like dusty said. watch the go go dancer.

    listen to that music.

  • yes i must go back in that time. feb 1964. sometime i want to

    stay awhile

  • If Amy Whinehouse tries to do this - SHOOT HER! Immediately!

  • @Gwhitebeard shoot her anyway ha ha

  • So ahead of her time I remember being 10 or 11 yrs old and having the greatest crush on her

  • For Rob. In case you've never heard it.

  • thanks for these classic Dusty videos!!!

  • I loved the GoGo dancers..Actress Teri Garr was a GoGo dancer...

  • I don't know how many times I've posted this video on facebook!!! LOL

    DUSTY!!!!!!!!

  • God, I Love This. Voice, Arms, Body, Silly Go Go dancers!!

    So Fine-------That Was Dusty****Very Fine......

  • one person has an inferiority complex.

  • if you lived during this period the sound of dusty's voice and the music production(PROBABLY PHIL SPECTOR).brings chills

  • @ronniepahigian

Ivor Raymonde did a lot of productions for Dusty.

  • What A Performer! She Uses Her Hands, Her Body, Her Soul!

12 Years Ago She Left Us. RIP

  • Great vid, fantastic Dusty. I can't decide if its not the original soundtrack or if the dancers have taken some kind of mind-altering drugs. Either way they have a pretty unique sense of rhythm which I'd challenge anyone to try to replicate!

  • I like the way they tuned the drums back then....high pitch.

I still tune like that......just to see if anyone notices!

  • I don't understand? She had a great figure but always wore older woman clothing?

  • @juliaandrod

That was the fashion back then :o) it's old woman clothing to us now because women who were her age back then are now old women now and still wear what they wore when they were younger. If that makes sense? I think she looks fab! I love her clothing :D

  • i luv the gogo dancers in the background

  • Always my fave Dusty track...never saw a performance clip till now...thanks for a 5***** blast...

  • Dusty had charisma... with a capital C. She just had something... you can't take your eyes off her... A beautiful woman taken away from us too soon

  • Dusty given the Phil Spector-type backing.

    Great stuff.

  • This is up there with the best of Motown. Why didn't I notice it 45 years ago ? Shame on me !

  • Talent from heaven. She's gone, but this keeps her alive. Dusty forever!

  • The dancers are somewhat out of synch with the song!!!!

  • There is nobody like Dusty. From start to finish she was the best ever!

  • favorite dusty song!

  • Apparently Dusty didn't like this song, but I do!

  • great voice !

  • Beautiful!

  • I LIKE THE GO GO DANCERS-----VERY VERY CHIC¡¡¡¡FASHIONISTA---LOVE THIS DECADE

  • Love it 14yrs old then remember it on TV. and dancing to it Friday night dances at school . Love her and my teen years. Thats why our music is still here!!

  • Did she realize how good she was?

  • God I love her and have always loved this song--Dusty goes Phil Spector and Motown!!

  • i due recall the year 1964. i was a young man back then.

i fine myself flashing. back in time a lot.

  • THE BEST DIVA FROM U.K.

  • sadly bobby graham, the drummer on this track, passed away a few months ago.

a session musician in the u.k he played on countless 60`s hits, including the kinks barnstorming `you`ve really got me` and ` all day and all of the night`, the animals classic `we`ve got to get out of this place`, petula clark`s `downtown`, tom jones`s `it`s not unusual` and the walker bros `the sun aint gonna shine anymore` as well as many many others.

    he rocked on this track.

    rip dusty and bobby

  • DustysGotSoul must have sold his/her soul to The Devil to come up with this stuff!!!! Kudos, you are the CUTTING EDGE of Dusty worshippers!

  • Dusty`s first solo hit after leaving the Springfields....The rest, as they say is "History".

  • I love yo Mary

  • Awesome 1

  • She had the girl group thing going by herself. Loved her.

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. She was and always will be a star!! Love you Dusty, now and forever!!

  • what an honor it is to be a back up dancer to this fabulous lady it is a thrill of a lifetime

  • The 60s' will never be forgotten ... that music was just pure majic and will never be imitated ever again !!! it was so Special .. and Dusty was very Special to us all ... xxx .. Lyndloo..

  • all time favorites.also that was music back then.and the 1950s also. dusty also

sung at at time. you want here music like

that today. we must not forget were we

    came from.

  • we must knot forget dusty

  • I always loved the 'Wall Of Sound' type of production on this number....Dusty was cool, chic, classy and sophisticated. It's unreal that her later life became so sad and confused.........The greatest female vocalist of my lifetime.

  • I've always been fond of this song...It's just great :)

  • If this song doesn't get your toe a tapping - THEN YOU'RE DEAD. Dusty was one in a million. The world is a little emptier now that she is gone.

  • Thank God whe had Dusty

  • Doe's it get better than this?

  • Simply beautiful.......Thanks Dusty, spend one more year in heaven,we'll spend one more year singing your songs

  • very very good. that only one true dusty. she was one of a kind. i will never forget

her. it take me back. to that time. and place.that music was one fo a kind.you

want fine music like that anymore

  • I find that the problem with much of todays music is that it is simply soul-less.

Although Dusty Springfield never claimed to be a 'soul singer' when she sings she tugs at your soul and thats what good music is all about.

A great song and good post.

    Thanks.

  • This looks like from the show Shiveree

  • A lot better than the ululating crap on offer today .

  • Hullaballoo??

  • someone said that the go go dancer on the rt is Terri Garr???true?

  • I LOVE this video & of course Dusty. In America during the 60's there was a show called Hala Balu. This video reminds me so much of that show. It had the Great singers & groups of the 60's & "Go-Go" Dancers. My sister & I loved that show. I remember how we wanted to grow up to be "Go-Go" Dancers. My Mom watched it too. Wow the memories. I miss those times. Dancing & music has always been so important to us. Thanks so much for this Great video & song. I can't thank you enough! *)*

  • It's Hullabaloo.

  • To veritasvg..Thanks for the correct spelling... *)*

  • Did a google search to discover that she passed away back in 1999, 10 years ago. What a stunning voice and I so wish that I could sing like her.

  • Great !!!...Just great ...love you Dusty.... Lyndloo...

  • dusty .was it in the eardly. day of rock in roll.she had it. everybobly . love dusty. she wasa queen. in her days.i recall very well.

their only one dusty.i still like to flash. back. too those. good old days.

  • Well i heard she first sang this song on American Bandstand in 1964,

  • if i`m not mistaken this is dusty on u.s telly (hullabaloo?) as part of the first wave of the `british invasion`.

man this song rocks, listen to that drummer! thats heavy for these days never mind back in 64!

i hope we sent dusty over with the following telegram -

    date : 1964

    memo to : the u.s.a

dear america, here is our best singer, please look after her, we inadvertently dropped and broke the mould we made her from.

    yours faithfully, the u.k.

  • This was an American syndicated teen show called "Shivaree", filmed by ABC-TV and shown on independent stations around the country.

  • You definitely broke the mold! My fave singer, including all US R&B singers, even Aretha.

This song should ALWAYS be played on the radio immediately after "I Only Want To Be With You"

  • @poetsdontknowit

The drummer was Bobby Graham, who claimed he was offered the Beatles job before Ringo (a bit iffy). He played on more UK hits than anyone - beings a sessions drummer.

  • WO , I wish I could of went through this beginning of this music explosion

  • .... I never thought she was THAT short. One more time proven that best things come in small packages.

  • @SlimmyTee : one perennial problem in the Springfields days was the disparity in height between Dusty and the two male members of the group! Very difficult for them to sing into the same mic and so get the harmonies spot-on. She usually had to resort to sitting on an elevated stool, which restricted her movement and isn't good for singing anyway.

  • To my Dear Dusty:

After 40+ years your music lives on and can still bring a smile to all our faces.

Sing om my sweetie, you are forever in our heart.

    Miss ya so,

    Forever your most devoted fan

    Pete R.

  • In the words of Cher..'if I could turn back time', I miss you Dusty, I often wonder how those closest to Dusty cope with losing her, we the public stay as close to Dusty on here as we ever could but they have lost more, they have lost the personal touch with intimate memories, the smell of her perfumes, the touch of her skin, the feeling of being up close to her and so much more.

God Bless yer lass and thank you for the music. X X. Ray♥

  • very nice comment ..and so true !! all her fans miss her dearly too.. its a sad loss to us all... there will only be one Dusty ever.. she will never be replaced ...Lyndloo...
