Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 0 always had that spooky mansion music it was cool how they managed to put music like this into a zombie game.all the other resident evil games didn't really have good music in em.

I finally got to play this version! It was awesome! I always played RE Original. But this one was an amazing remake. If you do a Remake this is how you do it! Now, Capcom just needs to forget these prequel sequel failboat RE's they've been doing, and put the quality that they put into RE Remake into RE2 Remake and RE3 remake. Makes me think that they don't have the same writer's or director anymore??? because of the drastic changes after RE Code Veronica. RE4 was okay but def not survival horror

Those were the days we want back. So why can't we bring that back??? Huh?! Damn video game developers today.

Casual gamers like their games to be easy, they like to go from A to B blowing things up and not think.
However, games like Minecraft, Skyrim, Portal, and LA Noire show there is a market for more cerebral, tougher games.
Sure, of course since the exact next generation from the Gamecube comes up with the PS3, 360, and a Wii(basically a gamecube with motion controls), the series looses the bad camera angles which I loved and the old style to play games. If any game today has any similar way to play from the older games, it gets criticized horribly. Don't get me wrong, I love new generation games and all, but can't we have our older generation games that are also new today as well??? Can't we?!! @.@
@Remus88Romulus that would be cool, but unfortunately, Capcom can't release it on PS3 at the moment, since it was made as part of an exclusivity deal with Nintendo, so in a way, Nintendo somewhat owns the rights to the game, along with Capcom.

I just completed this game right from my laptop. Get Dolphin and download the ISO. This iso is fully playable on the Dolphin emulator. Only problem I had was that sometimes the songs wouldn't play in some rooms but other than that this game ran lag free on my laptop. And I connected to the TV via HDMI, used my PC controller and it was awesome.
@Raijian9 they should really remake this game one more time specifically the Gamecube version remade for the PS3 and 360 only because it's a more updated version of the game and if you have a ps3 (PSN has the Directors Cutbut it's just as good as the original) or just happen to have the original, and not that I'm not willing to get this and play it on my wii I'd rather have it play like it did in the PS1 but the only difference would be it being on the PS3 or 360.
There's a song in Trace Memory that is almost exactly like this. I didn't realize it until just now. Perhaps it was the paranoia that a zombie was about to attack the entire time?
@AdaAdaWong You can hear it in multiple places. Well... I haven't finished the game yet (now I'm at the caves where poor George Trevor died), but I think you can hear it on the Residence (ummm.... Suicide Note? Is it familiar?) ... and on the 2nd floor of the mansion, in the room where there is a "lure of a bee", and a real bee specimen (it will attack you if you press the button under it)
@justsomekidfromhell I thought it was actually different, it wasn't garbage, it was actually a tad different than the normal games, I even liked it. But don't get me wrong, no one can ever beat the classics.
That's the thing I've noticed about this remake. NO ONE complains about it when they compare it to the original. This is an example of a remake done right. Word.
I wish they would remake all the old RE's (RE2 and RE3) I loved the "Search for keys and objects and put them into their place to continue the game" type things they had... but they started to ruin the series at RE5.... They could also make them multi-player too (Leon and Claire; Jill and Carlos)

This was the SCARIEST game I have eva played in my life...I mastered this game but have never been able to get used to it where it doesn't bother me. Even after mastering this game with all the best unlocked weapons I would still FREAK out and have trouble holding onto the controller because of SWEATTY PALMS!

Seriously! Playing as Chris I managed the impossible: I KILLED Plant 42 with the Sumuri Edge (an automatic gun that has to be unlocked) and that accomplishment still wasn't enough did ease the FEAR and DISCOMFORT! :)
@StarWoors eh it happened to me, i can´t hold the gamecube controller as i could the ps2 but there was a mode in options, controller try type 3-C you run with R aims with L and everything like always.
This track really sounds as if your life is connected with the music. Solve the puzzle and it'll stop.. Fail to solve it and it will go on... until you're dead.
I have the original Resident Evil game, in my special collection, along with a couple other Resident Evil games. I usually switch off the lights and play Resident Evil games in the dark, all alone, and late at night, sometimes i even hear creepy noises and stuff around me but it all adds to the excitement. Before you find the room home to the root of Plant 42, before you run as fast as you can away from those sharks, the original music you hear in the guardhouse basement was out of this world.
@rammsteincenobite How do you get the scene when Barry comes in with a flamethrower... or was that Chris. I played it many times. And it never happens to me.
@WESKER96 I am pretty certain it was Barry who did that for Jill but what exactly triggers the event is random depending on what choices you make. Like for instance if you make the V-JOLT then Barry will pop in and save you by scorching the plant since apparently according to the game you're defenseless. I think you also have to let Richard die which I think is lame because the scene isn't that amazing in my opinion...
My second favorite them. I never got to play remake, since I never owned anything nintendo past the Super Nes. I did buy it for my friends Gamecube but I forgot to get it back from him. I did however spend 3 straight years tracking gamestops for a copy of oh no not RE Director's cut, but the original. I finally got it in 2005 or 6. I'm holding onto that copy for the rest of my life!!! SO FUCKING CLASSIC!! Anyone who doesn't like the original cannot be an RE fan.
I remember when I first heard this music, was when I was in the room with the bee and the fishhook, reading the letter of that one dude about the zombies pounding on his door trying to break in to devour him. The music, combined with the contents of the letter, made for a chilling experience indeed.

@tiluqui I agree. They aren't as good as they could be. The movies could have had a really dark and scary tone yet they went with the more action oriented feel that takes away from the Resident Evil aura.

PUZZLE TIME! i always yell that when I hear this music and its even better when you hear this music you also know that no zombie or any monster will come out and hurt you
everytime i hear this soundtrack, I take a deep breath in relief because I know I'm in a safe room but at the same time I get a headache because there is always a PUZZLE to solve (ahhh good times)

The scariest part is when as soon as you enter the room and take a step forward the camera flashes right on the hanging corpse. Scared the HELL out of me!!

Man the Harp melody is very soothing, but damn did I hate those f'in bees. Also I have a great fear of spiders so when I went to the door into the pool room and that BIG ass spider was ontop, damn the camera angle was SPOT on, I lost it lol.
I like games like this, it's like you are in the game, espically when you turn off all the lights, lock the doors andgo right to the tv, espically when it's one of those death scenes, it's scares the living be jevas out of you, my dad usually plays it and me and my brothers and sister usually watch, even though I basically beg to use it too, but not till i'm 17 i guess......... :(
Its not the mansion that scares us. Realy tis rather nice well desinged place.
Resident evil gamr are scary for four reason:
1. Youre mostly alone.
2. Its dark and quiet.
3. You got limited supplies.

Seriously! Playing as Chris I managed the impossible: I KILLED Plant 42 with the Sumuri Edge (an automatic gun that has to be unlocked) and that accomplishment still wasn't enough did ease the FEAR and DISCOMFORT! :)

@StarWoors eh it happened to me, i can´t hold the gamecube controller as i could the ps2 but there was a mode in options, controller try type 3-C you run with R aims with L and everything like always.

The atmosphere in the game is just sick...Every place you go or look,there is "SICK" written on it!
And it's a wonderful game!
One of the best of ALL times!
This one and Resident Evil Zero,which is my personal favourite RE game!

I have the original Resident Evil game, in my special collection, along with a couple other Resident Evil games. I usually switch off the lights and play Resident Evil games in the dark, all alone, and late at night, sometimes i even hear creepy noises and stuff around me but it all adds to the excitement. Before you find the room home to the root of Plant 42, before you run as fast as you can away from those sharks, the original music you hear in the guardhouse basement was out of this world.

@WESKER96 I am pretty certain it was Barry who did that for Jill but what exactly triggers the event is random depending on what choices you make. Like for instance if you make the V-JOLT then Barry will pop in and save you by scorching the plant since apparently according to the game you're defenseless. I think you also have to let Richard die which I think is lame because the scene isn't that amazing in my opinion...

My second favorite them. I never got to play remake, since I never owned anything nintendo past the Super Nes. I did buy it for my friends Gamecube but I forgot to get it back from him. I did however spend 3 straight years tracking gamestops for a copy of oh no not RE Director's cut, but the original. I finally got it in 2005 or 6. I'm holding onto that copy for the rest of my life!!! SO FUCKING CLASSIC!! Anyone who doesn't like the original cannot be an RE fan.

I remember when I first heard this music, was when I was in the room with the bee and the fishhook, reading the letter of that one dude about the zombies pounding on his door trying to break in to devour him. The music, combined with the contents of the letter, made for a chilling experience indeed.

@edgecutionha WTF ???? the films ARE NOT GOOD they are a piece of crap and everybody knows it, the films story is completely different from the original story line of the game and they based the hole movies on a character that doesn't even exist ( alice the all mighty ) and the main characters are just secondary characters on the movies, now, the films are not THAT bad... for a summer movie BUT for a movie of a GREAT game it's just A BIG PIECE OF SHIT.

@tiluqui I agree. They aren't as good as they could be. The movies could have had a really dark and scary tone yet they went with the more action oriented feel that takes away from the Resident Evil aura.

@tiluqui originally before the movies were made there was a decision to be made for who was gonna get the rights. Paul whatever his name got the rights instead of guess who. Freaking George A Romero the master of all zombie movies was turned down by hollywood. His script even included the main characters like wesker who would be a double agent. Hollywood is dumb

Man the Harp melody is very soothing, but damn did I hate those f'in bees. Also I have a great fear of spiders so when I went to the door into the pool room and that BIG ass spider was ontop, damn the camera angle was SPOT on, I lost it lol.
