im sorry im a noob but i keep getting that,can u tell me why it is that keeps happening?its seems ive bricked my fone as well lol,stuck at SE logo,but anyway yes...it just keeps saying "ERROR - Please install or reinstall device drivers from drivers folder"

any ideas how to overcome this?

@ackos03 Use Sony Ericsson's X10 Backup program or any of the dozens of backup applications on the Market (e.g. Titanium Backup). You can then reinstall the official Sony X10 Backup application once you flash to v2.3 and restore your data. It's in the MediaFire folder.

The generic firmware has dozens of languages from Chinese to Russian and yes, Espagnol is included.

@TAjout Which firmware/region? Backup and format the card in a computer. I've never had issues with the microSD on any firmware.

Hi, can i juz check with you? If i'm already at the updated 2.3.3 version, do i still need to downgrade it to 2.1 and re-up it to 2.3.3 wolfbreak vers? or can i juz do an immediate xrecovery and install wolfbreak's 2.3.3 update?

@I3oA Original Sony v2.3.3 cannot be rooted. So yes, you have to flash back to v2.1.

I have a question about the baseband, does it matter that my X10i is baseband 2.1.54 if I want to flash from O2 branded 2.1 (customisation version: O2-UK Generic 1234-4762) to the UK generic 2.3 update (customisation version: CUST-UK Generic 1235-7379)? Does the 2.3 update require the baseband to be changed to 2.1.71? If so, how would I do that?

@bhamen If you're flashing an entire ROM or updating, it'll update everything.

If you're modifying/tweaking, then you'll need to flash the baseband separately.

Download it from the thread, flash it just like a ROM.

@jayallenlee87 If the automatic setup doesn't pick it up, then yes.

You always have to do the 3G settings, regardless of carrier. Else you can't get on the 3G network.

Thanks for the quick reply, I used the Generic 2.3.3 US and didnt realize they had a automatic setting, so I will try to do that cause it shows H and not 3G next to the signal bars.

@dhanush031 ... so download the FlashTool and flash it. If you actually bothered take the time to read the roll-out map linked in the description, it'll likely show that your region/carrier hasn't released it yet.

Im still having a hard time find a xrecovery to that will install. the flashtools xrecovery button isnt selectable. and i tried to follow your ADB method but the version of xrecovery that evey xrecovery link i find on xda site sends me to the latest 0.3 version and that doesnt include any of the cmd files.

@BluechipJ... aww so close... got the xrecovery from your description. so i carefully followed your wolf install video and did everything up to formating data, cache and system. i copied the Wolf_GB_2.3_TW_V4 zip into my phone using drag and drop method by mounting. this was into the main phone folder. after rebooting into xrecovery i couldnt find the zip file. so i tried to go back into the files via mounting but now im stuck on the boot screen.

You can't be plugged in or mounted when you're rebooting/in xRecovery.

Bluechip my dang phone isn't being recognized in flash mode and I've switched USB ports twice... can't do once more because, well i'm out of USB ports. Any thoughts? Windows makes the funky noise when I connect the phone in flash mode. It worked the last time when i flashed to 2.1- it isn't working now.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate.

@Bilaltq Check Device Manager. If you've got a red/yellow icon, means the drivers aren't installed properly. It should show up as an "SEMC USB Device". Uninstall and reinstall the apps to reload the drivers or Google the drivers separately.

thanks alot man , after i flashed to 2.3 my 3g wasn't working anymore even if i went back to the official 2.1 been looking all day for a fix but i saw the APN setting in the desc. now it's working! but care to explain why the 3g just went missing?

@math487 1. Flashing erases everything.

2. APN = Access Point Node = login to your carrier's data network.

Therefore, no login, no data (3G/3.5G-H) connection.

It's similar to entering in the password to connect to a password-protected WiFi network.

@shinier6370 Android v2.3.x has native WiFi and USB tethering built-in, unless disabled by the carrier. The generic firmwares don't have functionality removed.

@BluechipJ I had this problem on other roms before, I read that baseband can be the problem however I have tried all basebands and lots of roms and I always get the same problem.

@AloushNA The flash tool and xRecovery completely wipes the phone. It doesn't matter what baseband, firmware, or modifications you have. Everything is erased and installed fresh.

Restore back to stock using the official applications. If your phone still has issues, it may be defective.

Thanks for the vid again always helpful i was getting tired of the buggy 2.2 ROM i was on. Installation was quick and easy no problems probably the best ive ever had.Only on thing i couldn't get netflix as i could on the 2.2 ROM but i just found a .apk download and it works great.And as always i had to install the APN settings but for 2.3 on my X10a it was worth it who knows when AT&T would get around to rolling it out (probably next year). So thanks again man.

AT&T is NEVER updating the X10. They're ONLY updating phones released in 2011 to Gingerbread.
