  • @nobamapalin2012 Neither my 83 Jag beats them both lol!

  • @Gunfan762 There's an inside joke here that you're not aware of, as it seems another acquaintance of mine has created a fake account just to troll on my only video.

  • @ctperry06 Oh I think he's serious

  • @ctperry06 My Jag has had 65073 trouble free miles how many miles has your Chevy gone?

  • @Gunfan762 That Caprice had 85k miles on it when I sold it. And as I've said, the only major problem it had was the brakes. But that was soon remedied and it never gave me trouble again.

  • @ctperry06 I lied about my Jag it actually had the sway bar break once.

  • @Gunfan762 Ha...

  • @ctperry06 Very funny Clayton

  • What a mediocre pos

  • Cool story bro

  • Gosh, I have never seen such a beautiful man. What a lovely voice you have. (;

    We should hang some time.

  • @mandyblueiloveyou You sound like a PEDOPHILE!

  • @DangleTheMic That's what it sounds like, although I think there is an underlying joke in here somewhere involving my younger sibling...

  • @ctperry06 Trust me, I've gotten comments from that same exact account before. It's some sicko, I just reported them for you. Your welcome.

  • @DangleTheMic Alright, whatever you say man.

  • @ctperry06 I'm sorry to this but you have bad taste in cars. My 83 Jaguar XJ6 owns this pos.

  • @Gunfan762 Question: How much would a master cylinder cost for your Jag, where can you get them, and how long would it take to get to the dealer? Foreign sports cars are a pain in the ass to fix when they break down. Dealers are scarce, unless you live in a metropolitan area, parts are expensive and hard to find, and the electronics are temperamental. Full-size carburated GMs are super-reliable, although not very efficient compared to today's standards, and they're cheap and easy to fix.

  • @ctperry06 The master cylinder is about 150 bucks online. Where I live there are plenty of dealerships.

  • @Gunfan762 Alright, now how about labor? Jaguars, Aston-Martins, Austin-Healeys, and pretty much every other British sports car are almost impossible to work on after a certain era. The '80s weren't exactly the shining moment of glory for British automotives. Point is, you're going to be spending an arm and a leg if that thing ever gets seriously fucked up, whereas we American full-size GM fans will most likely be able to fix it ourselves. If not, then it won't cost nearly as much as that Jag.

  • @ctperry06 Well first off you know nothing about cars my friend. Second off the labor costs my time cause I fix it myself, but unlike your Caprice my Jag never breaks.

  • @Gunfan762 Bull...shit.

  • @ctperry06 Well what kind of problems do you have with this car

  • @Gunfan762 The only major problem that I had with this car was the brakes. Because it had been in storage for a long time, the master cylinder wasn't exactly top notch. But even that only cost $150, including parts and labor. Everything else has been minor. I swapped out the carb not out of necessity, but for efficiency. The rust problems are to be expected when you have a 26 year old car in Maine. This thing ran and ran. The only reason it's gone was because I needed another 2 miles per gallon.

  • @ctperry06 Whatever you say

  • I used to have the exact same model. Mine has a VERY dead grey paint job, and a little more rust on it...mostly in the rear. I picked mine up for $800. And it had 88k on it, although I was unsure if that was true seeing there is no 100k ticker on it.

I loved my baby. And it would CERTAINLY haul ass for such a primitive ride.

But about four months after I got it, the tranny went out on the exit ramp of the interstate.

Sold it for half the price I paid, and I will forever regret that.

  • @jman5630 Yep, these cars are brilliant for sure! The only reason I sold mine was because I needed something that got about 2 miles per gallon more. Now I'm driving a 1992 Lincoln Town Car, which would be as good, were it not that it has all of those funky electronic glitches that all Fords have. I'm sticking with GM from now on. But that doesn't mean I'm getting rid of the Lincoln anytime soon. It's a good, comfortable ride that's a hell of a lot better than its Ford and Mercury cousins!

  • Thats a nice caprice! Repair the rust and repaint it and yall have a car that lasts forever!!!

  • chevrolet caprice classic

  • @ludek92 Haha! Yeah, those Asian imports are tiny and covered in fragile plastic! These big metal behemoths are great as long as they don't rust out on you! I live in Maine near the Atlantic coast, so this thing is rusting out too damn fast, which is a damn shame. That engine would outlast three of these Caprice bodies over here!

  • @ludek92 I'm really not sure about the mileage with the stock carburetor, but with my 600 cfm Edelbrock, I get about 12 city and 18 highway if I'm lucky. Right now I'm averaging 13.5 mpg, mostly city driving. P.S. Funny that this would be owned by rich people in Europe, I picked it up for $900!

  • i love your car its so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey Ctperry, thats a nice car. But I hate to tell you, I do believe that the passenger side mirrors were mandatory in the 80's. Im very sure.. Or if someone can prove me wrong, I will have learned something new. I've got an 86 2 door coupe, stock 305, just some polishing, Intake, Exhaust, Now im going to rebuild the original Q-Jet. I was going to pick up an Eddy 600 cfm, but the rochester is my preference

  • @88chevcaprice Huh. If the passenger side mirror was removed, they did a really good job of covering up the bolt holesand scuffed paint, because it looked like the door was not designed to have a mirror bolted on that side. This is a pretty stripped down car with no power locks, seats, or windows, so I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't made with one.

  • fuckin asome

  • ya i gotta holley carb on my an i also gotta distributor with vac advance.. but somthings not right every1 is telling me that is probably the computer controls trying to run the car.... hmmmmmm???? i dont kno. so ur car runing good with out the computer from the old ROT CHESTER? thats weird maybe i should have went edlebrook to! thankz for get'n bak at me.

  • a when u change out the carb for the eldebrook what esle did u have 2 change cuz i gotta caprice same size motor an same year an i change my carb an its quick but just not write get bak at me.

  • @OODATHOODLUMZ When you install the carb, you're probably going to need an adapter plate and a linkage kit. Those two things are pretty much all you need to install it.

  • Man that's a sweet ride!

  • Great car! I'll bet it has great fuel economy even by today's standards and you've never had to put any money into it. you should definetly paint over that god awful colour brown. Just got rid of mine in cash for clunkers, greatest deal ever!

  • man real nice car. its nice when these good old cars find owners that treat them right.

  • Thanks! It always tears me to pieces when I see a beautiful old American car on the side of the road or in a field rusting away and being neglected. The ones that survive are priceless!

  • Beautiful car! I love this kind of sedans

  • I love these kinds of cars too! All of my friends drive little 4-cylinders and always ask me why I buy the biggest car I can find. I just love big old cars!

  • Cool carb! Did you notice any performance improvement with the open air cleaner?

  • I can't really tell because that's the only air cleaner I've used with this carb, but I'm positive that it makes a difference. Maybe not a noticeable difference, but a difference nonetheless. Either way, this thing hauls!

  • Right on! I have a K&N filter in my Olds. Think it helps a bit, but not much. Just don't have to buy an air filter anymore...haha.

  • sweet caprice man is it a brougham

  • Nah it's just a regular Caprice Classic. This doesn't have all of the luxury features like power windows or a tape player. It's a very basic car, but I love it!

  • that car would be sweet with flowmaster duel exhaust

  • hell yeah it would! If i had the money to do it I would, but I'd probly work on the rust spot on the door first

  • Same carb i bought for mines....

  • how it lasted? cuz im thinkin bout buyin one hit me up in a msg
