  • This is wrong technique. You're supposed to point ur feet slightly out so you can go lower down. Image using this technique with a heavy weight, you'd fall over. Pointing ur feet out gives u more balance.

  • Thanks for the comment.

I would not go as far as wrong, but you make a good point when one is lifting with a heavy weight.

  • i point my toes faily far outwards, but anything else jut feels unnatural, that feels comfortable. is that ok?

  • When a person points their toes out during the exercise, this would mean that their glute muscles are taking over the exercise.

Where does the movement feel unnatural? Is it your knees or hips or something esle.

Alignment of the leg bones will make a difference on how it feels.

In the end, if you feel comfortable with a specific leg position, then go with it.

If you can adjust to align your feet, do that.

    Keep working on it.

  • I heard your supposed to point your feet slightly outward never straight ahead?

Is this true? im not much of a weight lifter yet, i squatted 195 today and it felt pretty comfortable (im 5'6" and weigh 135). But my technique isnt that great...yet. Also, are your supposed to stick your butt back and arch your back?

give me some tips please =]

  • Great questions.

Sometimes the feet slightly outward is ok due to how the person's legs are formed. You may feel more safe with your feet this way.

The butt back is proper technique. Arching your back is pretty good advice. I would say just becareful with the back as you want to keep it tall to support the weight.

Your spin will appreicate less stress if you keep your back more tall than arched.

Thanks for your questions. Let me know if you need anything else.

  • Yes point your toes out a bit. Be weary of personal trainers. A large % of them are loust squatters. I wouldn't say this guy is lousy but he is not correct in his form.

  • It's called a spotter, you tend to need that when you are doing a decent weight.

  • We can go back and fourth, but I simply don't have time to do this.

Let's agree that you have your way and I have my way. You attract one group and I attract another.

    Fair enough...

  • Why dont you do them then? Your legs are skinny as f!

  • Thank you for watching my video. I may be skinny, but at least I do them correctly.

I watched your video, you seem to enjoy taking it from behind when you do your squats. More power to you. I don't play on that side. get a life...

  • well i havent seen ur other videos yet but things i could do with are tips on proper form and technique in depth if u havent posted already are; dumbell flyes, deadlift, stiff legged deadlift and also the top part of the squat, ie the butt, back and head position throughtout lift. thanx

  • We will piut your requests on our task list. Regarding the top part of the squat, you just want to make sure you are tall and not bending forward at the hips. The head will be neutral and not looking down or up.

    stay tuned.

  • thank you

  • this is good. nice to see a fitness instructor not on steroids too

  • thanks. Tell your friends to watch this and our other videos. Anything you would like us to explain as well?
