Hahn was a dumb kraut chemist - Lise was a bright jewish lady who was the brains behind HER theroetical realization of massive energy release per splitting the atom - end of story. Chemists are lowlife behind minds such as Meitner possessed. :)
"little is known about women scientists". As a non-scientist I take issue with that statement. You just have to know where to look for biographical info'. Excellent video.
It's not about the lack of information but about publicizing it. For instance, the list of Nobel Prize winners is easely accessible, but many people can't name one physics NP winner; and many others automagically say "Einstein", thinking of the relativity theory (which isn't what got him the Nobel).
"It's not about the lack of information but about publicizing it"...Which is a different way of saying the same thing. The British Astrophysist, Jocelyn Bell Burnell, was not inc' in the list of 5 co-recipient 's of the Nobel Peace prize awarded to Antony Hewish & Martin Ryle in 1974. This caused controversy. Is it about Nobel winners alone? Surely other female scientists, working in the background also deserve recognition.
@nisteven dude you don't know what in the world you are talking about. Her work is not even remotely comparable to Einstein's work. She played a major role in this story, but she did not solely "fig out how to split the atom" and "did all the thinking". Literally, almost every statement you made was incorrect. However, she was highly mistreated as a brilliant scientist just because she was a woman and she was not given the recognition she deserved until way later in her life.
@nisteven It's called the Nobel prize, named after Alfred Nobel. Physics is my field of study. I care deeply about these topics and the accuracy of the information about them. Honestly, you have said many incorrect things about Meitner's story and that is why I felt I should say something.
Thanks! It is great to see Lise Meitner get the recognition she deserved.

@applecounty I think you need to go relook her up.
She did not work in the background, she design the machine that split the atom.
She fig out how to split the atom, she did all the thinking, and mathematical for it.
Ever nuclear factory is base off of her design.
She is the mother of fission.
The one who won the noble prize for it, was a chemist.
He only tested her theory, and only did what she told him to.
So yes, the noble prize was stolen from her, her work was as great at Einstein work.

@Fand421 Ya she did, the male who got the noble prize for the work.
Only tested what she said to test. She came up with the theory, and did the mathematics to it.
Which yes she had other mathematicians check her work, but that's what all mathematicians do when coming up with a formula.
Unless you actually read the dairies of those who was involve at the time.
Then you don't know what you talking about.
Because in history class, and a lot of other place's, they have change the facts.

@Fand421 Sorry but your the one that is wrong(ps I suck at the English languges, so sorry for the bad grammar, and miss spellings)
Everything I said have been right, on the splitting of the atom.
She fig it all out, and came up with the formula to do it.
