  • Innocence destroyed, hearts crushed, honesty abandoned = big city?; = big government? Kind of a rhetorical question. The apparent conclusion one derives is that power, wealth & fame = dishonesty deception, corruption, immorality; and poverty/small income/rural living = honesty/integrity. Shouldn't be that way. I'd take Mary in a heart beat, were I worthy. BTW - this was "Chicago politics" 100+ years before Obama. Imagine it during his tenure!

  • Laura is the only one of the kids the hasnt really changed over the seasons

  • Good for Charles Ingalls. He is a liberal who supports government regulations.

  • @BullittMcQueen1 Kind of a no win scenario - support railroad union thugs, or the government, which has no overt thuggery, but I'm sure rife with it.

  • I don't know why but some of johns facial features reminds a tiny bit of Harry styles from one direction.??

  • John Junior is such a schmuck, Mary is better off with Bobby Brady

  • @videoaa99 You gave me a good laugh. I needed it, thanks!

  • Mary is so lucky to go to CHicago accompanied by her father and stay in a prestigious hotel.i wish i were in her place lol!

  • every boyfriend I've ever had has cheated on me so I know how Mary feels, some guys are slimebuckets, Mary is so much prettier than that other girl and John is a idiot!

  • give it toooo him CHARLES !!!!!!!!!!

  • what a jack !!!!!!!!!!

  • „Falling in love is such a waste of time…“ Yes, yes, Laura. You just wait until your Almanzo turns up ^^

  • I felt bad for Mary, but then again she should have known. Look how long they had been apart, time went by just like that. But also, John should have told Mary the truth when she first arrived, but was scared and the visit was unexpected. In the episode "Chicago", when John is murdered, he still hadn't married. He was simply young and still didn't know what he wanted, except be a writer.

  • It was cool to see Mike Lookinland, who played Bobby Brady, at the end of this episode. I SO wanted to hear him say to Melissa Sue Anderson, "See? I didn't get the mumps after all!"

  • mary is so pretty, I'm so jealous lol :-D

  • i heart little H on the P :)

  • 10:41 wow that locomotive is really enviromental friendly

  • @sondano haha ikr?

  • OMG!!!! that boy at the end is Bobby from the Brady Bunch! That's sooo cool! :D

  • Yep - there we go, THERE'S the Chicago politics (24:00)

  • im gonna make another comment-that john junior is an absolute wanker. just want to punch him. if laura had been there she certainly would have threatened that!

  • @jecka1982 Me too.I would have been very angry if i were Charles.I would have punched him for not telling Mary the truth before she comes by train. He's mean!He should have writen to her.

  • lol love charles' farmer jokes with the hotel porter!! 'course its my baggage, what do you think??!!'

  • Sadness for Mary aside, does anyone find the Grange politics as interesting as I do right now?? Some things never change!!

  • at 22:31 = Mary is confusion! lol

    Silly prostitute! ;)

  • @SpamBAT she's not a prostitute!

  • @septembergirl8618 Clearly and obviously I know Mary is not a prostitute, I am referring to the woman Stanley Holister sent to give Pa "good time" she is clearly a prostitute.

  • it sounds like in real life Michael Landon would have invited that women right in no questions asked!

  • Even though John Jr. is cute, he is an asshole and an idiot! How could he do that to Mary? And with that girl he's seeing, she doesn't even come close to how wonderful Mary is.

  • @crybabygirl08 ---- I know, right? And what's really sad is the girl doesn't know what an asshole he is ( yet ). What comes around goes around --- he eventually got killed in Chicago.

  • @specialk68 True to that. And she was a bitch to John. But he did deserve it. I didn't like that he got killed in Chicago though. :(

  • I love how Charles says Mary's going to be the prettiest AND smartest one at the dance. Everyone needs a father like Charles. So sad that they're not just rare, but danged-near non-existent.

  • @HoneyNVinegar everyone needs a husband like him too. AAAAHHH CHARLES INGALLS IS THE MAN!!!

  • @RocsGirl come on girls what about caroline she's kind of great too giving her her place

  • @RocsGirl

    haha :) SO TRUE

  • @HoneyNVinegar Really? My dad is like that. I guess that I shouldn't take it for granted then :S

  • @IwillKillYourCereal My dad was like that, too. I'd basically meant that it really IS a commodity.

  • 44:26- He's Mike Lookiland who played Bobby Brady on the 1969-74 tv sitcom The Brady Bunch. Melissa Anderson gave him his first kiss on a 1973 episode of that show.

  • How could John Jr. fall out of love with Mary!? Is he nuts?!!!

  • I dont care if he is Mr. Edwards step son, Ingalls should have knocked John Boy into the middle of next month!

  • @hriddle82 Lol, John Junior I think is what you meant, John Boy would be a Walton.
