  • she's much more graceful than nastia

  • I love love love the floor routine. Beautiful interpretation and wonderful technique in dancing. I'm guessing the double pike incurred a huge deduction on the low chest though, and her tumbling isn't super difficult (Though still a competitive routine), but I just love the dance and music....

  • At 1:02 the woman says "One and a half from the full twist...", but how can the first tumble be a full twist when she does a round- off then the twist and when she lands she is facing forewards!!

So actually it had to be 1 1/2 to 1 1/2, but it really doesn't look like that...Can someone please help me with this?? :D

  • Comment removed

  • @chocolatefan1711 It's a 1 1/2 + 1 1/2. The commentator just made a mistake. And it might not look like a 1 1/2 + 1 1/2 because Yang does the second 1 1/2 tucked (she attempts laid out but bends her knees. No difficulty deduction).

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 Thank you, you really helped me with this!! ;)

  • @chocolatefan1711 No problem =)

  • What I don't like about most chinese gymnasts is that they always lose the tension when they're in the corner before a tumbling run. Thy dance so beautifully and then suddenly the just "walk" the last bit. But that's really the only thing that bothers me otherwise it's an amazing routine and Yang Yilin is one of my favourite gymnasts!! ;)

  • perfect 10

  • good lord that spin was so beautiful. i think yang yilin should've won. nastia's amazing but yilin shouldve won.

  • Yang's rountine is wonderful but I think she could have done better landings. I saw on one of them (maybe the fourth) she kinda hopped. I don't know. Maybe that is why Nastia won. And I think Nastia deserved it as well.

  • @thejadedancer24 Liukin would've won without the hop.

  • Much better than Nastia's

  • She has 11 1/2 twists in this routine. All of them are done super fast, and super clean (except the Rudi which was always a tiny bit sloppy from Yang).

  • Her twists are lightning speed

  • The spin was amazing!! I think it was right on. =]

  • I put the song yayaya from the kilheelers and fits amazing XD

  • @EElinRonzon Woah, that's incredible =D

  • well she probably only just got a 15.000, a little low score, for this routine because the twist i dont think it counted the one at 1:00

  • @rhythmics88rockxerin Of course they counted it, they just deducted heavily.

  • WOW she's so good at spinning!

  • yang yilin on her second pass performed a triple right?

  • @MrAerial12345 Yes, she did. ;)

  • @chocolatefan1711 ok because i couldnt hear the commentators over all the cheering

  • I love her movement, the way she extends her arms and tilts her head! It's gorgeous work!

  • her legs are really scary. theyre so muscular. but still so lean.

  • liked her routine much more than nastia...

  • I love how she lands so silently

  • i love her floor-so graceful and pretty:) she doesnt run into her tumbling passes, she skips then out of nowhere BOOM! huge pass

  • @cRaZyNeRd7 yeah, it kinda seems like that's just her body type.. but she is really skinny.. ALMOST too much I think.

  • does her spin at :51 count as a 3.5 spin?

  • I fell terrible that Nastia Liukin knocked her down from first place after she performed :(

  • @whassup0 why nastia deserved it?

  • China's final floor poses are so beautiful!

  • @shannonigan9 they are cool but i kinda think they are weird tooo

  • 8 people are jealous that they can't do as well as Yang Yilin

  • I LOVE WATCHING ANG YILIN PERFORM <3 she is so pretty too (:

  • Why does she wear a different leotard? then Cheng Fei or Jiang yuyuan?

  • Every single one of her landings for her tumbling passes was CRAPPY and there was no height on the second rotation of the double pike at all. The dancing was good I can give her that, but you can't win a gymnastics comptetition by simply dancing. And her tumbling was quite predictable.

  • @musicisinmeforever

The only landing that could be considered bad was her third pass but even then she only took like one and a half step, the others she only stepped out which is aloud(and every other gymnast @ the Olympics did that).

Tumbling isn't supposed to be unpredictable, it's supposed to be stunning. & I don't know about you, but I did gymnastics for five years & I think that even if her passes were predictable(which I don't think they were) they still fit in perfectly into the routin

  • @coloryoursound

Wow, that's your opinion. Predictability takes away from the stunningness of this routine. And I've done gymnastics for about six years what does that have to do with anything??? And by the way, you spelled allowed wrong...aloud is not the same thing FYI...and routine has an E in it. SMH

  • @musicisinmeforever i'll take your corrections into consideration, but what does SMH mean? since eng isn't my 1st lang, I don't no what all the acronyms are yet.

& I still think YY did have a stunning and unpredictable routine, maybe you think it's predictable b/c u had longer gymnastics training, but others like me appreciate her for her skill, presentation, and dynamic performance

you don't have to bash her or HER video, your entitled to free speech but don't use it to hurt others

  • @coloryoursound

I wasn't bashing her! I was commenting on how the routine is predictable and rather boring. SMH mean scratching my head. And I KNOW that she has skill. She wouldn't be at the Olympics if she didn't have skill. However, there are others who have more skill or skill equal to her's and many of them are getting bashed as well.

  • @musicisinmeforever "every single one of her routines were crappy"

    yeah, that's totally not bashing,

other olympians may be getting bashed as well by jerks who can't do half the moves, but you shouldn't go down to a level where you bash her(don't deny it, w/ the tone you were using on ur 1st comment, theres no way you were anywhere near praising her) no matter how bad you think her routine was

  • @coloryoursound

I wasn't bashing! I was COMMENTING on how this is a mediocre routine compared to many others in the '08 Olympics, including some of her own team mates. This was poor quality, especially for the Chinese.

  • @musicisinmeforever

What poor quality? This is one of cleanest and most beautiful floor routines I've ever seen.

  • @undertheweatherandbu

She under-rotates, she landed with her chest to her knees on her double pike, she had a slight stumble on her 1 1/2 with a full twist...that's not really Olympic quality...

  • @musicisinmeforever

she twists with her feet together, no crossed legs...she's one of the FEW olympians who can do that. almost everybody else crosses their legs

  • @undertheweatherandbu

It may have something to do with the fact that she's about forty pounds underweight.

  • @musicisinmeforever

ehhh her first 2 landings were good

  • @undertheweatherandbu

Yeah, but if she was an American gymnast, everyone would be crapping on her small mistakes and not concentrating on the good things that she did in her routine, so I'm just doing the same thing that others do to other gymnasts.

  • omg shes so freaking good! but so is everyone else in the olympics!!

  • this song's kinda scary sounding /:

  • this song's kinda scare sounding /:

  • Someone made a comment saying the Chinese looked like they raided and arts and crafts store. She's proof of this.

  • My God I still can't believe people are saying the Chinese were underage. All you have to do is look at her in 2009 to know she WASN'T underage. China was delaying her puberty, in 2009 she looks about 17 or 18 years old. So, there's your proof she wasn't underage.

She also deserved the silver, Shawn's vault should NOT have counted; she wasn't even close to making it around and there was no reason she should have been credited with the amanar.

  • She won't get a deduction on her 1.5 front if she changes from the uncontrolled straight front 1.5 to a well-controlled tuck front 1.5.

  • If some of the Chinese were underage than some of the Romanians were too. I wouldn't doubt that Ksenia Semenova was underage as well. If you compared all of the gymnasts they are the same size in almost height. In the face white people looks older compared to Asians. But these gymnasts are in similar height & weight. Jealousy sucks, if they took drugs that is a different story.

  • i think she was 15 here but still age eligible

  • shes amazing! i always wish i did gymnastics but u need to start so young!

  • She's 12 they faked her birth certificate!!!!! Would you like it if you were in the olympics and somebody that was under aged beat youand wasn't supposed to even be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nobody say the F word again!!!!!!!

  • @Gymdawg01 Where is the proof that they faked her birth certificate? They had proved that she was 16 and no wrong doing. Only jealous people will dwell till they die. If a underage person beat me I would be embarrass and not jealous. There is a difference. I would congratulate the younger gymnasts for being more superior to me and honestly wouldn't care. Age is nothing but a number. Its not like she was under 10. She was 16 and actually deserved more than 3rd but I do not argue over this.

  • @Gymdawg01 Did you give birth to her? how can you be that sure she was 12 at 2008..... Some people look young doesn't mean she is young. So sad for you old looking woman.

  • WHAT THE FUCK PEOPLE CARE ABOUT THE AGE? ALL IT MATTERS IS THAT THEY DO GOOD AND GET INTO THE OLYMPICS!!!

  • @BFFpuppies4ever If age doesn't matter than lets just terminate all the fucking rules in the olympics! Because whats the fucking point if playing unfair is "OK" as long as they're, "Good enough to get into the olympics!"

    IDIOT!

  • @fishing4fishies Why are people still talking about the age? She was 16 back then which was legal, only jealous people will dwell on this. It's not a Olympic rule that you have to be 16. It's only in the sport of gymnastics that you have to be 16 to compete as a senior at senior competition and the Olympic games is consider a senior sport for gymnasts. Tom Daley who was a diver from UK was 14 at the 2008 Olympics. Yang is a amazing gymnasts as this video proves it.

  • omgg i also love this floor routine

wow yang yilin uses alot of hair clips but it doesnt matter i like her hair clips(:

  • Who could ever dislike this? Who? This performance was amazing.

  • Holy bananas, her spin on the floor was marvelous.

  • either the score for this routine is too high or Anna Pavlova's routine was scored too low. I think its a great routine but. I feel that there were some issues with the scoring on the floor. Pavlova did way better and only go .05 more for floor.

  • underages..but they beated other right-age-gymnasts for sure and for reaaaaaaal..so just accept it,shut up,and keep it for urself

  • SOOO SKINNY AND GOOOOOOD! :)

  • She looks no skinnier or smaller that Russia's Ksenia Semenova who was fourth in this AA..In fact Ksenia looked ever small nobody questioned her age.

  • That triple spin was ridiculously insane. Don't care what her age is, that was probably the best spin I've seen in the world by any gymnast. Some of her landings weren't quite as solid as Nastia's, and sometimes the flow was not as present- but oh my! There were some gorgeous moments. (Like that triple spin!)

  • How can she tumble with such ridiculousn legs :o it's so amazing !

her tripple spin was probably the best ever done, so incredible !!!

However, sometimes, she missed power to finish the tumble perfectly, she is a little bit short but she didn't fal, lucky her !!

And I have to agree, really beautiful leotard

  • Now, that's what I call a performance.

  • wow... nothing like american gymnastics nastia liukin is better

  • wow... nothing like american gymnastics

  • What is the music called? It's very famous and popular I remember I did a rhythmic routine to this.Someone message me on my profile if you have the answer, thanks x

  • @Shiuquen it's from the moulin rouge soundtrack, can't quite remember what the name is =)

  • I LOVE the coreography, especially the part at 0:40 - 0:48

  • i know this is kinda irrelevant but she definitely had the prettiest leotard in the 2008 olympics on here

Jiang yuyuan's AA final leo was just so ugly!

  • this choreograophy is wierd

  • I think she could've done a quadruple spin. That would've definitely boosted her difficulty.

  • I have a feeling everyone made such a big deal about the Chinese gymnast's ages because it just goes to show that the Chinese kick some serious ass and it embarassed the older gymnasts (: I still have pride in my US gymnasts but dear god, the Chinese DESERVED gold.

  • 0:17 it's like she's controlling the music =]

  • its quite normal for 16 year old chinese girl to look like that. she is obviously naturally skinny and with the amount of exercise that she does, she can't really have too much meat on her. so what if she is a little flat, doesn't make her 11-12 old. so shut up people, and just enjoy her performance.

  • theyre so light and skinny when shawn johnson is so musculey :D

  • wau una nueva potencia mundial!

  • I dont think she deserved bronze, I think she deserved at least silver. She probably would have if Shawn and Nastia werent American. Also i think Ksenia Semenova should have medalled. But this floor is almost perfect, the triple turn is fantastic,.

  • @billabongroxursox yeah because a gymnast's nationality so has to do with their scoring and ranking. get real

  • this is ridiculously amazing!!! i can't believe it was 2 years ago...felt like yesterday..

  • if they ARE underaged, then we should even love them more because they are so talented. I hope their fate will not repeat the one in Sydney

  • Yang Yilin is the most underscored gymnast in the 2008 olympics i think:(

she deserved a gold in uneven bars but only a bronze:(

    she is really graceful:)

looking forward to see her in the 2012 London Olympics

  • @cherrystw Maybe she'll actually be old enough to compete legally...

  • yang yilin was one of my favorite gymnasts to watch at the olympics :D she did have quite a few wobbles on beam and on floor, though, so that's probably why she only took bronze, but she has great style and artistry

  • yang yilin is very good i wish china won all the events i hate nastia liukin

  • lovely triple spin

  • How mant piroutes can she make?

  • definitely NO deduction on the spin

  • Is that the crowd chanting for her at 0:57 when the music stops?

  • i think she is the prettiest chinese gymnast

  • what do they mean by "off the floor"?

  • In the last pass yang yilin landed so low that her chest is almost touching the floor, you can see her head down, but it was beautiful any way.

  • i love this routine i have no clue y she chnaged it

  • one and a half from that full twist..?? i think its a one and a half to another one and a half..

  • no leg separation or crossed legs, like in the other events! she deserved the gold but not nastia liukin! well... only liukin's high a score helped her...

  • @natalienat518 the gold? did you see her final 1.5 twist in her third tumbling pass? completely lost control. but her triple spin was absolutely beautiful :)

  • 中國隊加油 楊伊琳加油

  • yang yilin you're beautiful to watch.

  • Yang Yiling is not so talented, but she is hard working which make her in the olympic...

    very well done

  • Oh come on, she is talented and also she's got grace and elegance...

  • "not talented"?!? how many people can say they went to the olympics and came home with three medals?

  • loved the song and the whole routine.

  • great floor routine but im very concerned about how skinny she is!!

  • what's Yang yilin's A score?

  • Shes incredibly graceful. I enjoyed it.

  • Ksenia semenova should of gotten bronze

  • Tremenda Yang Yilin, la mejor de ese campeonato.

  • I LOVE her floor music!!!!

  • I really love :40 - :47 she dances great. I love the double pike at the end. It's my favorite tumbling pass.

  • The music and choreography is well suited for her.I wanted the grace to match the power a little more.

  • Oh god, stop talking about chinese gymnast's age for a fucking time! Can't you enjoy this amazing routine and shut up a litlle?

  • i agree

  • Me too!! Just leave the poor girl alone. They all passed the inquiry made by the FIG and the IOC!!

  • @cronopio131 totally argree``ppl just say that because they're jealous of china win more golds than their country in beijing olympic

  • Comment removed

  • @cronopio131 I totally agree! I think the truth is the Chinese are soo good there's nothing to fault, so let's just accuse them of being under age. Chinese women ARE small, and so are most gymnasts. If being small is a sign of being underage, let's just say all female gymnasts, figure skaters, and other sports that require agility are underage. She's amazing, China is so good at whatever sports they pursue

  • I also love the music getting happier from 0:44 and her routine looks so good!

  • By the way, that spin is just superb!! That's the best done spin I've ever seen!

  • I used to love Jiang Yuyuan because she did a wonderful job on floor in the team finals and apparently that routine draws big attention and applause from the crowd. But after seeing this I'm loving Yang Yilin more. She's more well rounded in skills and really elegant with that slim body figure and smile and to some degree is rather down to earth. Jiang Yuyuan loves spotlight too much. Sometimes I think she needs to work harder and keep a low profile and calm down. Yang is such a valuable athlete

  • 1:02 bye bye Silver medal

She could have easily gotten a quadruple spin around, and it's an E element!

  • Why was I marked down? It's obvious she landed in a hunch and tucked her legs and lost 0.3 or 0.5 depending whether they deduct from start value or execution and that would have given her the silver medal if she didn't.

  • Beautiful Yang Yilin

  • omg i looooove her triple spin (i believe it was triple)

  • It had to be something with a 1/2 cause she ends up facing the other way. I think it was a 3 1/2

  • she deserves more than 15.000

  • @natalienat518 I don't see how she even got a 15.000 with a double twist pass...thats way to easy to not be under 15.000 and she didn't stick any of her landings...if they are going to award artistic value they need to award everyone...like Semenova and Pavlova who scored around the same but with harder tumbling

  • @LCAmarkymark But I do think that Yang had more artistry that Semenova. Of course Pavlova's artistry is the best of all, But she has a higher difficulty than Semenova, with more connection bonus, like the 2.5 to full twist, and 1.5 to 1.5. I think her main problem is only the front 1.5 and the double pike, so this routine, to me, scores at least a 15.200, instead of a 15.000.

  • @natalienat518 Im fine with that but that means that Pavlova would need to be at least a 15.35

  • @LCAmarkymark

    Yang Yilin D 6.1 E 8.900 = 15.000

    Semenova D 5.8 E 8.975 = 14.775

    Pavlova D 5.8 (5.9 in prelim) E 9.250 = 15.050

So, Yang had the most difficult routine but her execution was the lowest. Semenova's tumblings were not as difficult as Yang's.

  • @gy9402 I see that I feel that pavlova's routine showed variety and was more artistic. I also think that gymnast should be rewarded with stuck landings especially on an f element move. There is still something wrong with the scoring..Yang was predictable not original like other routines. Something is still wrong with the scoring overall.

  • that was one of the best spins ive seen! this is my favourite of the chinese leos i think its very elegant!

  • I like this routine better than her new floor music

  • Me too... I miss this routine! She only had this one for one year, and it's probably one of my favourite floor routines of all time! :(

  • It's too bad for her growth spurt

  • beautiful performance :) x

  • I love it when the Chinese gymnasts bow!

  • wow! she has no crossed feet at all! look at her triple and compare it to nastia's twists

  • she deserves a gold the judjes are, i think, baised towards americans a little bit

  • her flips are so fluent

  • outstanding fx she and what a beautiful triple turn

  • I love you yang yilin

  • i dont care how old they are i luv the american gymnast but the chinese gurls were better i dont see what the big deal iz i mean even if they were 11 and twelve like people say the are i think we should be congratulating them.i would be embarrassed to say they were younger but they still kicked my ass they should just enjoy there silver there is only three medals so i would be ecstatic if i even got 1

  • I agree that the Chinese gymnasts were definitely better than the Americans on team final night but that's not really the point. The point is that if the Chinese are using their younger gymnasts who may be better than ones who are age appropriate, other countries are at a disadvantage if they have gymnasts in the same situation. For example, in 2004 Nastia probably could have made the US olympic team but she was too young. Rules are rules and should be applied to everyone.

  • Nastia said herself that she probably would have been good enough in 2004, but she wouldn't have been ready mentally. And the Chinese did not cheat at these Olympics. I don't see why this is a big deal! YYL and JYY were at worlds in 2007, and no one questioned them then! HKX was the only one that wasn't at a Worlds before these Games, and the only reason why they were accused of being underage is because they are good and the US doesn't like that.

  • 1) Sydney games are irrelevant here. The Russians and the Romanians have had non-age eligible gymnasts at one point.

    2) I don't know how to break it to you, but the NYT is American. Which fits my argument perfectly. I could write an article right now saying Rebecca Bross is 10, and it shouldn't be taken as concrete evidence, ESPECIALLY since it's the internet! And just look at YYL now! She's a grown woman, and definitely looks 17!

You've got to be careful what sources you trust.

  • If it is true what you're saying, Yang yilin should be 16 every year, because wheneve rshe appears she is never old enough to compete, stop the crap man.

  • @nodaybuttoday01

    So true!

When USA beats China then nothing is questioned, but, all of a sudden China beats USA and we got the FBI going full force to find evidence that China cheated (sarcasm)

  • @Tracey424

The FIG investigated, and have come to the decision that the girls WERE NOT underage. China DID apply to the rules. USA lost, China was MUCH better, no one cheated. Face it, and move on, please.

No one questioned the Chinese when USA beat them in 2007. But once China beats USA everyone goes nuts saying they cheated.

I still can't believe people actually seem to believe China cheated. There is even a video on youtube PROVING they didn't. (A doc. from like 2002 or something)

  • @Gr33nkiwi the video proving the chinese gymnasts were not under age is called: "Chinese Gymnasts Underage? Maybe Not."

everyone who thinks they cheated look that video up

  • @Gr33nkiwi Plus, Gymnasts are small, any sport like that requires lightness and agility so they're going to be petite .Yes they looked young, but so do a lot of women gymnasts, and other similar sports like figure skating. They're innocent, they played fair

  • @LuckyInfinity Some people don't know that being younger gives u ALOT of advantages

  • @Gymnast861

Well, first of all ALOT isn't a word. It's spelled 'A LOT' yw.

Secondly, Older gymnasts and younger gymnasts have different advantages and disadvantages. It works both ways. I hate people that either ...

    A) Still actually believe China was still underage

    or

    B) Seem to insinuate that China ONLY won because they were younger.

USA had a lot more 16 year olds they could have sent. Countries send their best athletes, China was better. How is this so hard to understand?

  • @LuckyInfinity it was a problem because women's gymnastics is suited towards smaller, thinner, prepubescent girls. thus, it was an advantage. many gymnasts say they were better at 13 than 17. but this is all in the past and doesn't matter. let's just all enjoy this beautiful routine

  • @LuckyInfinity Exactly! And even if they were underage, I'm SURE it wasn't their decision to lie about it.

  • One of my favorite routines. So glad she medaled here:)

  • is it not Bolero from moulin rouge?

  • it is.

jiang yuyuan's music is called raise your veil

  • was wondering (:

  • Comment removed

  • that's what i said

    yang yilin's is bolero
