  • why aren't those seats completely filled?

  • Why isn't this man our Prime Minister? The only one amongst the current shower of Conservative MPs with bottle or courage of his convictions. One day the UK will have to leave the European Union, thanks to people like him, and Nigel Farage of UKIP.

  • @TheBarcelona42 Same thing with Ron Paul for America lmao

  • Hitler said the state has no other function then to make war If you are going to have a state have a big one.The germans found this out the hard way. English parliament equals sharia law.

  • British hypocrite considering his county blocks Irish national self determination by imposing a border through my country.

  • Mr.Hannan does have charisma and good points.

comparing Tibet and EU was just brilliant

  • The matters of Tibet are not on this agenda, and rightly so - well spoken, I say!

  • An unsung hero not largely known in the UK who has been fighting for Britain's freedom for the past few years.

  • @silversynth Soon it will be unbritish not to obey sharia law

  • @jrobertsoneff There is no such thing as british. The nation is gone, but the state remains.

  • @tothemax01 Its more like the empire has gone and it remains in a state.

  • @tothemax01 what are you talking about? The midlands are full of ''white'' british( i am sure this is what you mean), and i must say, the most disturbing place in the whole UK....

  • @zentrallondon Whaa? I don't really get your comment. And why is "white" in quotation marks? And what does the disturbingness of the midlands have to do with anything?

  • @tothemax01 because you are saying nonsene like '' there is no such a thing like british'' that can mean only rasict ex-imperial mentality. What were you trying to say?

Midlands and the real british ''Bold heavy weight guys with cheesy tatoos, and girls with teath problem and the same dress code'' i prefere London seriously.

  • @zentrallondon Well OK define British? There is no real definition. Anyone can move from anywhere in the world to great britain, and you have no right to say he is any less british than someone who's whole family has been born in britain for the last 100 years (because that would be a racist statement). Hence 'British' is a meaningless concept, perhaps only meaning 'a human who is currently physically located on the big islands just to the west of Europe'.

  • @tothemax01 i understan your point, it is difficult subject and a lot of poeple are trying to be politically correct. I think if you born here you can claim the nationality, i think there is a strong bond with the place you were born. Even if your parents are imigrants. I understand that a lot of you can be angry due to multi cultular experiment you can see in UK, but i kind of like the idea of different nations living together in one place, maybe that is the future, without wars and terror?

  • @zentrallondon The nations already live together in one place, its called the world. Secondly, as history and logic attests, you are not going to maintain a constant state of having many nations occupying the same space indefinitely. If you look at Sth America, Sth Africa, Asia, any situation in which many nations have to live side-by-side means constant conflict and national dissolution. Japan (my fav country) has a homogeneous population, and has next to no violent crime; note contrast to US.

  • This wimp( listen to his voice) from the badlands of the shires is a bastard love child of Alan Clark.....from Castle S&M.

In the dungeons counting their expenses, avoiding tax, texting their mistresses and planning tory sharia law.....e.g scraping the skin of genitals.

  • @domjuan61 In the end, 66% of the Irish electorate voted in favour of the Lisbon Treaty. Klaus signed the Treaty. And Cameron reneged on his promise to hold another referendum on Lisbon (if the Tories were to win the upcoming General Election).

Dan Hannan foolishly stated of Cameron "There's clearly a premium in politics in keeping your word". And, soon afterwards, Cameron broke his word. As if to prove that Dan Hannan is a fairly poor judge of character.

  • Article 1,UN Covenant on Civil & Political Rights forbids forced citizenship !

"The need to bolster Europe's military capabilities to match our aspirations is more urgent than ever" (Javier Solana).

    I wonder why ?

Note the word "aspirations" and the way that "Europe" is once again miss-used instead of EU !

After Lisbon we will all be left with nothing but a Playmobil democracy and an undemocratic Legoland EU "parliament".

    Dark days are coming.

Long live peace, real democracy and freedom.

  • Democracy is not necessarily compatible with freedom without any safe-guards.

As far as is possible decisions should be made on the individual level. Government wants to decide what substances I can imbibe, what protection I must wear while bicycling, what contractual agreements with a prospective employer that I can accept and many other things. Such decisions should not be subject to a vote; only when collective action is required should democracy have anything to do with it.

  • He's a brilliant public speaker.

  • Sexiest man alive. Bar none.

  • I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who's turned on.

  • Hannan should join UKIP. The Conservatives are pro-EU.

  • Rather UKIP Join the conservatives.

  • UKIP are anti-EU and the Conservatives are pro-EU. Hannan is anti-EU so he should join UKIP.

  • If those in UKIP, which is a minority party, were to join the conservatives, they could change the tory viewpoint.

UKIP, as a minority party, is unlikely to achieve anything, but they could, as members of the conservative party, change that, and so change government direction.

  • I think they believe more in a common market than a bloated EU superstate (which we have now). We do need a Thatcherite stance on this. And the Conservatives do have a Eurosceptic wing who unfortunately don't speak vociferously enough to have their messages heard. It isn't helped by Ken Clarke being promoted to Shadow Business Secretary.

  • conservatives are split - they promise a referendum on lisbon, thats enough

  • What a load of empty rhetoric, in particular the point of referendums over the Lisbon Treaty, there is absolutely nothing to stop any country having a referendum over it, if he wishes to complain then he should do so at the leaders of respective countries, but then I guess the EU are an easier target then those responsible.

  • check out some of the Obama without teleprompter videos on Youtube............they are pretty funny

  • OBAMA = One Big Ass Mistake America

  • EU lies : There are no plans for a European superstate. There are no plans for a European Army. There are no plans to take British & French foreign naval bases under EU control. Lisbon is not the Constitution. Galileo is for civilian use only. The (un-elected) commission repects the Irish vote. Ireland's NO blocks the will of millions of Europeans. The Czech Republic's hesitancy is holding back the will of millions of Europeans. Google : EU corpus juris....and weep.
  • The EU wants to regulate churches and define what constitutes a valid and legitimate religious institution. Now whose the antichrist, or antiallah, or antispaghettimonster?

  • I can't believe this guy - he's an absolute legend!! He is one of the few Tory's left that still display common sense.

Get him in as PM asap I say.

  • There are 3 ways to effectively persuade, absurdity, irony, and most importantly hyporcrisy.

  • The Ron Paul of Britain.

  • exactly my thought.

  • stop trying to ride shotgun with Daniel Hannan if ron paul said anything close to what this guy has to say we would be cheering ron paul now piss off.

  • Daniel Hannon DID say that he would have voted for Ron Paul given the chance. They both have very similar views and they both have gained allot of supporters because of their defense of these views.

  • My God. His eloquence. I could listen to him for hours.

As far as an Obama comparison. There is none. Uh, ahh, uh.....without a TELEPROMTER, Obama is NOTHING. Everyone thinks Obama is the chosen one because of his ability to read words on a telepromter, but this guy (Hannan) is simply amazing.

I'm an American living in Washington state and can't get enough of Hannan.

  • Now come on, you can't make fun of Obam-uhhh here in America, that's racist. You can only make fun of white presidents. I'm sure if we pass another bailout, mandatory jailtime for any Obama opposition will be a rider, and seeing as our congress doesn't even read the bills they pass, it'll get through just fine.

  • johnbahr - This happens when a person knows what he's talikng about. He's backed by a long tradition of thought that includes the philosophers of the Scottish enlightenment, the US founding fathers as well as many of those who opposed the union of the states, and economists with wide ranging scholarship such as Ludwig von Mises and Friedrich Hayek.

    I totally agree with you.

  • you notice what real articulation is? no stuttering uh,uh, duh, duh, uh, uh, like Obama..Well spoken and 100% correct! Obama...stutters and is always wrong..Obama voters should be locked up for stupidity. NormaUSA. org

  • Daniel Hannen. Wow. I am in awe. Thank You.

  • i wish Canada had someone like this,no one stands up to harper all we got are puppets

  • Yep, no guts in our government.

  • EU `rights ´.

The right to justice...but not really. Imprisonment without trial or evidence ( google : EU corpus juris ) !

The right to free speech...but not really ` Criticism of the EU is akin to blasphemy´.

( European Court of Justice ruling 274/99)

The right to strike...but not really.

If the strike restricts movement of goods, persons etc.then it is illegal.

    (ECJ rulings : C-438/05 & C-341/05).

Lisbon/constitution violates article 1 of the UN Covenant on Social & Political RIGHTS !

  • WOW !! What an orator ! I think we need this guy to run for leader of the conservatives, What a fantastic PM he would make, out of the eu in a flash i think. thisis the male Thatcher we have been needing. Hannan for PM

  • Agreed. We need this guy an Prime minister. He speaks so much sense and his speeches are so powerful, everyone listens to him.

  • goodness gracious great balls of fire, this guy is great. we need him in our congress to say what they mean and mean what they say.

  • Best MEP out there, danniels just the kind of person we need to be let loose on the EU, if all cons were like you, id be voting, its ashame for the pro eu side from others, well their in it for the money really arent they.

  • I hope Obama and our congress are listening to this guy. Why doesn't government get it? 'You can't borrow your way out of debt'.

  • I've only just discovered this guy and I'm hooked.

Genius. I'm rarely moved by a speaker.

  • I think not...I don't see a teleprompter.

  • Brown is England's Obama yes, Daniel is England's Ron Paul, Obama is just as corrupt as Brown, as hypocritical.

Obama says one thing then does another, he is going down the same path as George W. Bush, acting only as a puppet with people much higher in power acting as the puppetmaster.

  • I dont think hes a supporter of the new world order im afraid

  • No thats Gordon Brown....

  • How the hell is he anything like Obama? He's the anti-Obama in every way.

  • woops! commented too soon!

  • Why is there a Tibetan flag at 697?

  • I hope the European Union and the United Nations dissolves,so that there will be no New World Order.

  • I completely agree with you! :)

  • Why is this guy not in the Parliament and leader of the Tories? What are you brits doing?

  • They're shunned by the mass media controlled by an establishment that creates currency out of thin air and is slowly buying up everything. Its shell game, like a multistage global conveyor belt funnelling all the world's wealth into the black hole that is the Vatican and out from it the propaganda that invades every area of our political, economic, medical and scientific lives. But you're right, and perhaps if we can hold on to the incredible power and freedom of the web, perhaps word of mouth..

  • Daniel Hannan for President!!

We need ppl like this in our senate and congress!

  • Damn...I remember watching My Fair Lady when I was kid and being enamored with Henry Higgins. This guy certainly has the quick and easy wit that Rex Harrison showed off in that movie. And he shares my values! Amazing.

  • Liberals must hate this guy. He uses logic and that's a foreign concept to most liberals.

  • Just be careful. Your Famous Now. Oh BTW your on a top rated TV show now.

  • Valid point. +1 for Mr Hannan. Please come fix America next.

  • Christian:

He has his plate full: The EUro-Trash have nothing to offer more than what they have done since WW2! Shake out hand -- palm up and piss on our leg!
