  • Another case of "I thought I'd seen everything." Not this though - I'm sure we never had them in the U.K. I understand the "left hand" comment now on another "soundie"

    Thanks.

  • Panoram jukeboxes were featured in restaurants, taverns, penny arcades, and any place they were able to draw a crowd....the "Soundies" featured in them were mostly produced from 1941 through '47, and changed on a regular basis, as records in a traditional jukebox. A similar device, the "Scopitone", was marketed for European markets in the '60s.

  • How hot does the lamp get.

Could it end up meliting the frame if it gets stuck

  • @Dakkiller1 The Panoram was built using a standard sound RCA projector of the era. Of course it could melt the film (which is safety film-so it won't burn) if it got stuck. I have not seen this happen, but I have seen the film brake and one of the two safety switches then shuts off the projector.

  • ditto, I've always heard of these and never saw one. TY

  • I WANT ONE!!! That is extraordinary! Well now I have something new on my wish list:)

  • well, I`ve always wanted to see one of these, now I know what they look like thanks for posting

  • Great info, Panoram, and video.

Apparently, with one of these, no transcription needed, just a good video camera.

    THANKS for posting!
