After numerous accolades and 3 Grammys, Nancy Wilson still has not gotten her due in the music biz. Recently Tony Bennett ran off a list of female singers he admired & considered important. Streisand, Ella, Lady Day, Sassy Vaughan, Dinah Washington, Aretha Franklin, Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day (eew!), but NO mention of Nancy.

Other important music biz heavies like Quincy Jones have failed to mention Nancy or worked with her during all these years, don't get it why she still gets the shaft.

My gut tells me that those guys DO in fact love her...Im sure they both know her very well. But that being said, I agree, that you dont immediately hear her mentioned in the same breath with some other vocalists that are ALWAYS mentioned. And I think a lot of it is due to Nancy not seeking any more attention than she deems necessary. She seems to be a woman of OVERWHELMING talent but she carries herself in a very understated way. Its just important that those who matter, know of her legend.

She reins queen in my heart and in my music collection!! The more we post of her body of work, the more the current and future generations will get exposed to and appreciate Nancy's proper place in music history. I was accustomed to listening to DOO WOP, strickly. Then I was forced to listen to Nancy in the Marine Barracks at Camp LeJeune.

Loved her ever since. Tried to find a wife that looked like her. I was really messed up.
