University of Florida Students confront their Board of Trustees

I wouldn't say the BoT chairman schooled them at all, and he came out with some really bad quotes that reflect poorly on his character. It seemed to me like the confrontation was just getting out of hand too quickly and it was best to end things as quickly as possible. Could that have been done in a more civil manner? Probably, but the situation was getting pretty intense. As for where your tuition goes, you can search UF's institutional planning site to see how it's spent. It's not pretty.

any UF student who doesn't think that UF would gain by increasing tuition is delusional.

Seems to me that the UF students started out very cordially trying to negotiate with this guy, and he wouldn't have any of it. It was like he was under the pretense of being totally above negotiating with students, and many of his condescending remarks reflect that. It's not like this was a formal setting either, and the board of trustees guy certainly didn't lend himself to having proper negotiations. I think the students handled it as best they could given the circumstances.

@TotakekeSlider47 The first thing the speaker said was "we have our demand". Then he accused the guy of mismanaging the budget, provided facts about the all universities not just UF and no body let the guy answer. I would get pissed as well. In the end the speaker lost his cool and the whole thing ended with a mob chant....

I would like to know where my tuition money goes and how UF spends its money. Does anybody know where you can find these statistics.
