I'm a graduate of Norcom and it's sad to see all of the negative and stereotypical comments made about a school simply because of it's location. I know for a fact Norcom is more than just a school with an outstanding band, we have students who achieve great things and athletes who put Portsmouth on the map. Since its inception, I. C. Norcom High School has stood as a symbol of excellence for the African American community of Portsmouth, VA. If you have to hate, that's your problem not ours.

oh ok i graduated in 2006 so that's why i havent heard of them before the 2006 nationals. half of the really good schools didn't go anyway that year because they were having financial and directorial issues
